Review from M B.
Pittsburgh, PA
I have been working with Chris for a few months now and have noticed an improvement in my back pain (mind you after going to several area physical therapists, doctors, and alternative pain specialists with no improvement). Chris tries a variety of techniques including Pilates, traditional physical therapy, and myofascial release to help relieve pain. I really like how holistic he is in his treatment plan and especially appreciate the fact that it's not a physical therapy factory - you are seen by Chris one-on-one for the duration of the appointment. He caters the treatment to the intensity of pain and doesn't make you go through a prescription he creates on the first day of treatment (like most physical therapists). The therapy is done according to your needs in the moment; this is truly a unique experience. Healing Motion accepts Highmark insurance so it's really quite a treat to have such high quality service for only the price of my copay. Highly recommended!
Specialties
Specialists in Physical Therapy, Myofascial Release, Pilates & Gyrotonic
Experience a revolutionary paradigm of healing in Physical Therapy or work with Pittsburgh's most experienced Pilates (since 1983) and Gyrotonic (since 2000) instructors.
PT
For PT, we utilize an advanced form of specialized manual therapy called Myofascial Release, or MFR. MFR is incredibly effective at eliminating pain, restoring lost movement and function, and generally increasing energy and vitality in our patient's lives. Myofascial Release is unique because it takes a whole body approach to evaluation and treatment of each patient.
Our patients breathe easier, have increased strength and flexibility, and move more easily and gracefully.
Pilates and Gyrotonic
Getting fit should be enjoyable: experience Pilates or Gyrotonic in an inviting, intimate studio without the chaos of large, over-crowded clubs or studios. Simply put, we provide the best personalized lessons to help you meet your fitness needs
History
Established in 2008
Healing Motion, PC was founded by J. Christopher Potts, PT, DPT in response to a need for comprehensive physical therapy and wellness services all under one roof. He feels strongly that the traditional way physical therapy is provided does not place the patient and their healing process as the first and most important priority. In order to do that Healing Motion created a treatment environment that fosters a true collaborative relationship between patient and therapist and allows the therapist the most freedom to craft the best possible plan of care for each patient. This requires one-on-one therapy sessions with each patient.
We have carried this philosophy over to providing Pittsburgh's most experienced and qualified Pilates and Gyrotonic instruction for general fitness in that we don't offer, big impersonal classes. We give YOU our valued clients and patients our utmost attention, thereby giving you the most value for each lesson.
