Review from Erika Y.
San Francisco, CA
I think we liked this place so much because we were expecting much worse based on the other reviews. The outside is nothing impressive, but the inside has a lot of charm and best of all, is extremely clean and orderly.
We stayed in the king room with a jetted spa bath tub. The room was cute with a private deck and fireplace. I loved the french doors that lead to the bathroom from the bedroom. I do have to say the tv's need an update...we could barely see the 15" from our bed.
The evening wine and hors d'ourves was merely cheese, bread, olives, and some veggies and dip, but it was fine as we weren't trying to have it be our dinner!
Breakfast is a decent spread, but don't expect waffles, pancakes, or anything fancy. They have enough variety to satisfy you and everything is enjoyable.
Finally, the deal we got made everything seem even better. We got the 2nd night free and when we spontaneously decided to stay a 3rd night, we got it for more than half off. The 2nd night free deal lasts through mid-April.
We plan to go back and have been recommending the inn to friends and family! -

It's O.K.
The location is great but the building is a little dingy for the price. The rooms are also at a lower quality than the rate would suggest.
NOTE: This is not a B & B. It is an INN that has continental breakfast. Do not expect B & B level food. It is just eggs, hash browns and some muffins, etc. that you serve yourself in a cafeteria style setting and will usually it be cold.
we had so much fun in Healdsburg that I didn't mind the lack luster accomodations. Although if we didn't have a 2 nights for one coupon I would have felt totallyt ripped off. -

I'll start off by saying The John F Craig House in Cape May, NJ set the bar extremely high for us with B&B's. Location of this Inn was perfect, short walk from everything in Healdsburg. Nicole at the front desk steered us right with her restaurant recommendations (Scopa and Barn Diva). Ema prepared a wonderful breakfast every morning and was very nice. If you are looking for intimate B&B experience, this is not it, more like a hotel- they don't live here. Rooms were more hotel like than we prefer in a B&B. No coffee maker in the room- not idea for coffee lovers like us, but they had ok coffee available starting at 6am. We'd stay here again for the convenience if the price was right.

I'm conflicted.
The pluses:
You could not ask for a better location. We usually stay a little further away from downtown but decided to splurge this time. I loved the convenience of being right on the square.
The breakfast was pretty good. Nothing spectacular but better than average.
The overall atmosphere is great, the breakfast/wine room has beautiful high ceilings and window that look over the square.
Really nice bathroom with jetted tub and great amenities
The minuses:
The staff was indifferent, at best.
The mattress was horrible, really hard with squeaky springs. Minus a couple of stars for that alone.
It isn't cheap. The convenience probably would have been worth it if the bed had been comfortable. -

What a cute place! This was my first time staying at a B&B in the States, but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I booked the room using an ideeli voucher, of which the process was new to both me and Wanda, who I booked over the phone with. Luckily, Wanda was very patient and helpful and assured me that we would figure it out together.
When my bf and I arrived at the inn, we were a bit early, but Wanda graciously let us check in early (before 3pm). The room wasn't quite ready when we got there, so we visited a couple tasting rooms (La Crema and Williamson if you're ever in the area -- I highly recommend both!) in the vicinity before finally heading to our room. The room itself was lovely -- nicely decorated (read: not tacky) and had a nice view of the plaza. My 2 favorite things about the room: the fireplace (turned on by a switch) and the whirlpool bathtub (very relaxing!).
Everything from afternoon wine & cheese to breakfast in the morning was delightfully pleasant. I would definitely come back here to stay!

I am here right now and I cannot figure out how this place dares charge so much for the room. Never having been here before, I assumed that with the hefty price tag (I'm talking Manhattan prices), that I would be staying somewhere special. On the contrary, I'm staying in a 3-star room with a view of a wall and an external cement staircase. The free wireless they boast on their website doesn't penetrate through the whole hotel, and as simple as it would be to just add a router on each floor, the front desk said, "Sorry, we're working on it. Feel free to use the computer in the lobby.". I am so sincerely underwhelmed that I wouldn't encourage anyone to bother coming here.

I stayed there over the holidays last year and had such a good time we thought we'd do it again this year. Unfortunately, someone made a mistake with our reservation and the manager dealt with it very poorly. Apart from her inability to muster even the pretense of courtesy with us, she was really hard on the person working at the front desk, and that's an ugly thing to watch.
We wound up staying at the Healdsburg Hotel, which was lovely. -

This inn, a former site of a Wells Fargo depot back in the days (notice the very high ceilings, maybe the stage coaches used to come thru here) is comfy and intimate. Jennifer, the manager, is very friendly and helpful. We had a room with a comfortable Queen bed and standard jaccuzi bathtub, Kohler toilet. Toiletries are French products, lotion, soaps, shampoo, conditioner and a packet of Jasmine bath salt. A hair dryer is in the bathroom. There's a gas fireplace, amoire and non-HD TV which was placed to the right of our bed (awkward to turn your head to watch TV).
The dining room is upstairs next to the kitchenette where the solo staff person prepares breakfast. We had a delicious chile relleno and there was cheese potatoes, hash brown, bread pudding, muffins, English muffins, raisin toast, homemade granola, Cheerios, fresh chopped fruit (strawberries, pineapples, orange, cantaloupe, honeydew) , orange and cranberry juice. Coffee, tea and cookies are available for you at night and there's cheese, crackers, olives, red & white wine from 4 PM - 6 PM. Street parking is limited to 3 hr. intervals from 9 AM - 6 PM.
A bookcase in the hallway is filled with old movie videotapes, books and there are magazines as well.. A daily newspaper appears at your front door in the morning. A very quiet inn and it's nice not to hear your neighbors snoring or moving around. They have bed turn down at night and leave you 2 pieces of chocolate on the pillows. We came back to 2 "Happy Anniversary" balloons in the room after our stroll; one pink, one blue. Sweet.
They're part of the Four Sisters Inns, which includes 12 accomodations in California and 2 in Washington state. In California, the places run from Yountville, Napa, Sonoma, Healdsburg to Moss Beach, Santa Cruz, Pacific Grove and south to Santa Monica, Dana Point and Monterey. If you stay in any combination of 10 nites at any of their inns over 2 yrs., they'll give you a complimentary night valid Sundays-Thursdays from mid-October to mid-June, excluding holidays, special periods and subject to availability.Listed in: Healdsburg, here I come...

There is nothing to do in Healdsburg besides eat great food, drink great wine, go wine tasting, and have lots of sex in between eating and being (or while) intoxicated.
A good place to have said intercourse in, is the Healdsburg Inn On the Plaza. It's charming, an upscale B&B, that is - if they remember to bring you your breakfast in bed.
My only complaint about our romantic weekend away here would be the, seemingly, forgetful staff. Except you - Front Desk Nathan - you were the shit!
We ordered our breakfast in bed and they forgot to bring it to us. We had to call to remind them, but other than that the stay was perfect in the Carriage House and I loved the spa bath.
They also forgot to clear away our plates from the first night's breakfast, so they just sat on the porch decaying for three days.
Still nice and would return, if they remember my reservations :) -

San Francisco, CA
As the name implies, this Four Sisters Inn is located right on Healdsburg Plaza. That makes it walking distance to lots of little shops, galleries, (wine) tasting rooms, and restaurants. It was January, so there were no summer concerts in the square but still plenty to walk around and see.
Back to the Inn; there are 12 rooms and as far as I'm concerned the Carriage House is the only way to go. It has a private entrance, gas fireplace, kitchen, and jetted spa tub for two. We didn't take advantage of the other amenities like breakfast, afternoon snacks, and I forget to eat a cookie while checking out but I suspect they're all great too.
The staff was helpful, had great suggestions on both dinner and brunch, and other than while checking in/out, we didn't see them.
Why only 4-stars? Maybe if there were Five Sisters? Anyway, it's a solid 4. There are more luxurious places but this is exactly what I thought it would be and will go back the next time I'm in trouble. Yes, we took home the teddy bear. -

Great little inn that feels like a bed and breakfast, but doesn't look like Grandma's House. We got the King Suite, with fireplace and jacuzzi tub, overlooking the square. The room was very comfortable and clean, although I I thought the tub was made for two. We were able to fit, but two tall people would not be too comfortable. The jets were nice, but loud. They have a noise policy to not use the tub after 10 or so, but we were lucky to have our room above the reception area (noone downstairs). Separate standing shower in a large bathroom.
Complimentary breakfast was a little more upscale than a continental breakfast, made fresh in their kitchen. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Prices are fair. We stayed on a weeknight, so it was $360 for two nights, 2nd night free (Winter Special). We also adopted a teddy bear, which comes with every room.
Would definitely stay here again. -

This is an adorable hotel right on the plaza (as the name suggests) in Healdsburg. The rooms have been recently updated - my only complain would be the bathroom, as I tend to enjoy a more extravagant bathroom when I'm on vacation. However, there was a claw-foot tub which was very relaxing.
The hotel has homemade breakfast every morning (included in the price of the room), fresh cookies, appetizers and wine from 4-6pm, bicycles, etc. They also have good rates/deals for the off-season.
I would like to try Hotel Healdsburg next time I am in Sonoma, but would definitely stay here again. -

What a great place- highly recommend it. Easy as pie parking, located just around the corner. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast and regretted it - instead we went around the corner to La Taqueria Sombrero, a small mexican restaurant that got good reviews but was not good and the service was poor. Next time I will definitely do the breakfast at the Inn.
We had room 7 and it was perfect - it was hidden away from the other rooms and has a private balcony. You definitely want to stay the weekend here - one day is not enough. It's a great place and I can't wait to go back.
Note - I didn't hear any couples having sex which was good, but the vent in the bathroom does allow for you to hear the rattling in the kitchen in the morning which woke me up. Other than that, I never saw another guest or heard a peep from them. Was very peaceful.
Note2: For hotel snobs, TV does not have cable and was not a flat screen. Was a small 13inch. -

Cute spot for a weekend stay. Right on the town square with breakfast and wine/chesse tastings included.
The old charm gives you are great feel and puts you at ease throughout the weekend. Very warm and friendly staff.
I didn't like the fact of how noisy this place was, with its paper thin walls and loud slamming doors all across the place. I wanted to sleep in one morning and didn't stand a chance with all the racket.
Also was pretty damn pricey for nothing too special. -

We stayed here last year for our anniversary because we wanted to try Cyrus. We had a lovely stay in the carriage house guest room. Breakfast was brought to us in the morning and we enjoyed it while sitting on the porch. Not much a view, though - it's across from a parking lot. The proximity to the restaurant was fantastic and it was nice to just stumble a few blocks back after dinner.
The layout of the room was a little odd though. The moment you step in, you see the bed, and then it opens into the kitchen, a few steps more will take you to the soaking tub on the right and then the bathroom in the back. -
Review from Cheryl L.
We just came back from the perfect wine country weekend and the Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza certainly was a highlight. We got super lucky in coming on the Sunday night after New Year's, so everyone else was back to work and other than one other couple, we had the entire place to ourselves. It felt like part romantic comedy, part horror flick since the place really was deserted.
They always have promotions on their website and if you are a procrastinator like me, sometimes there are major perks with waiting until the last minute. They have a Carpe Diem special where you can call same day and have any available room for only $125. I happened to call several days ahead and they were nice enough to honor this price just because I asked and they knew they were going to have space.
The hotel was beautifully maintained and our room was perfect, including a faux fireplace and a nice Jacuzzi tub. They have a happy hour for guests in the late afternoon, with complimentary vino, cheeses, bread, veggies, dip, etc. It's the perfect place to sit by the fire, drink a glass of wine, play board games or catch up on some reading.
Breakfast was outstanding and we were warmly greeted by their delightful cook and housekeeper, Emma. She was such a sweetheart, full of smiles and enthusiasm and she put out an awesome spread, including huevos rancheros, a fruit compote, fresh fruit including mangos, pineapple, kiwi, cereals, cottage cheese, and more. My boyfriend went back for thirds since no one else was around to enjoy all the goodies.
We were sad to check out after our one night and can't wait to come back when we can spend some more time here. Highly recommend!Listed in: Wine Country Highlights

The location on the square is great. The front desk and in-room service was excellent. Stayed in the Carriage House upstairs which is the best room they offer. You have a private entrance and balcony, but not a view of the square that some of the other rooms afforded. Very quiet even though all 12 rooms were filled. Relaxing and you are in close proximity to great wines in the Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys, and a relatively short drive to all the rest of the Sonoma County Wines. The homemade cookies offered to guests at the front desk ARE good.
P.S. I have no idea why this Inn is listed under "Jewelry" too unless it's an analogy for it being highly prized . I did not see any jewelry store.
P.S.S. No longer categorized under Jewelry :-) still GREAT! -

If you want a great location from which to venture to the Russian River area, Jenner by The Sea, or the Sonoma wine country, you could not find a better place. Right in the heart of Healdsburg with plenty of restaurants, shops and wine tasting rooms a few feet away.
From an accommodation perspective, it is just "OK." The rooms are tranquil locations for sleep but little else. The decor is dated and worn. The "free" breakfast is food, nothing spectacular or overly generous.
The staff is bored with their job, sleepy may best describe their attitude.
So if you want to pay top dollar for a great locale, here it is. If you want great accommodations, this is not the place. The owners are milking it for their own life style. -

Stayed here the weekend of our wedding in the carriage house. Location by far can't be beat- right across the park. This is a quaint little B&B. The carriage house has a small kitchen, spa tub, and separate small bathroom. It was big enough for the bridal part to get ready in. We also love how the carriage house has a separate entrance from the back. However, the back is pretty dark and it overlooks a parking lot. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

i'm lukewarm on this place.
great location, right on the square in healdsburg, and a nice enough inn. but, quite honestly, i've experienced more charm at a best western. the rooms could use some updating, and the breakfast and wine reception were really the minimum effort.
i'd rather stay at in or around santa rosa and spend the $200 i'd save on wine and food. -

Charming, warm, nice, convenient hotel in idyllic Healdsburg. Location cannot be beat and the rooms are good size. We had a King room, with fireplace, balcony and ok size bathroom with claw-foot tub which was very nice for two. Bed could of been a bit more comfortable and my husband wished for a more modern bathroom. Staff was very friendly and the home cooked breakfast was much appreciated. It was nice to have some hot food after a night of too much wine. I would definitely return to this nice hotel.

This place is awesome! A great location. Easy to get to amazing wineries without having to drive too far. Walking distance to some amazing restaurants so you don't need to worry about drinking too much wine. My boyfriend and I stayed in the carriage house, and it was great. Jacuzzi, fireplace, full kitchen, private deck and lots of other lovely touches. Great breakfast is included and they also do wine and appetizers in the evening. Take a look at the website because they have some awesome specials in the winter to make it a bit easier to treat yourself to a little getaway.

Like the other review, I am an impersonaly hotel guy, not a b&b guy. This place was more hotel-like for sure.
I would suggest it to anyone. Just ask not to have room VI (6). This is the room that shares a wall with the common area for snacks and breakfast.
Great - cookies, staff, clean!, food, location, towels, linens
Not great - room Vi noise from common room, cracked and wobbly sink, and shower head needed some CLR cleaner -

Cool little Inn right in the center of everything. You can eat, drink, and shop without driving anywhere. Called at the last minute to reserve a room and they took $100 off! i was definitely impressed with that! Would definitely go back. Very conveniently located (and clean)!

We just returned from a stay at the Healdsburg Inn. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and we'd go back to this place in a second. Although the young girl that checked us in was not very friendly (maybe she was having a bad day, who knows?), we really enjoyed Lynn at the front desk in the evenings as well as all of the other staff members. Our room on the first floor was very comfortable, clean, well maintained, and just overall very pleasant. We enjoyed our morning breakfasts (hot, homemade breakfasts) as well as the afternoon snacks upstairs in the sun room. The chef there in the morning was so plesant and talking to her was a great way to start our day. We alos loved the bath products. This Inn is in a great location, very convenient. There is a great bookstore just a few doors down, as well as a whole bunch of other unique shops. Also found this Inn to be very family friendly. They had portable cribs available at no additional charge. My family really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to our family and friends. We hope to retunr there again for another stay.
