I've finally found my new hair cutting place after moving to the Bay Area 5 years ago!
Cindy was quick and precise with the #2 fade that I requested, and I walked out of there, one satisfied amigo. I'm not sure about the other claim about how they overcharge because I was only charged $12. Maybe it depends on the difficulty of the hair style?
This might actually be my favorite haircut of all time! OF ALL TIME!!

Great place to get your hair cut! After suffering through many inconsistent and amateur looking haircuts at the hands of Great Clips (even though I used the same barber each time) , I decided to check this place out.
I was (and still am) pleasantly surprised. Not 1 bad or iffy haircut.
THE GOOD:
1) Very friendly and personable.
2) They do a consistent job time and again with attention to detail.
3) Shockingly inexpensive. (you should leave a tip to make up for it folks).
This is a great place to get your haircut, I think I'll head on over there after work. :)
Forget about expensive hair cuts....these girls here know their craft. They are fast and super nice and police. Cindy and Lana (Hope I am saying her name correct, but she is the short girl with light hair color). These 2 girls are just fantastic. I have never had the other girl with glasses but I am sure she is as good as the other 2...I used to go to a place that charged $40 for the same cut they are giving me....so folks please give them a good tip. Give them a try you wont regret it.
There are 2 things you need to know about Heads Up Hair Care.
1) They lie
2) They give a really good cut.
3) The cut is so good you can forgive the fact they charge you $14 or $15 for the cut although the sign outside says $12 ( I know it's still really cheap but it's also really annoying.)

I've been getting my haircut with Cindy since 1986. I left Albany for 4 years and when I moved back and looked for her at the old salon she used to work at, she was gone.
For one year, I went from salon to salon paying 60-70 dollars for lousy haircuts I cried over. Each stylist told me that cutting curly hair was a breeze. Finding a person that knows how to cut thick and curly hair is difficult.
Low and behold, while walking along the bottom of Solano Avenue, on the same block where old Grace's Bakery used to be, I looked in the window of Heads Up Hair Care and there she was!!!! I shrieked.
Cindy's downfall is that she charges so little for haircuts that people straight out tell me that there is no way a person can get a quality haircut for less than 30 bucks. Even though her haircut runs 12-14 dollars, I give her a massive tip that equates to a quality haircut price.
So far, 8 of my friends have managed to look past the cheap haircut prices and have come to appreciate Cindy's work ("Cindy" is not her given name- she is Chinese.) They too have told her that her haircuts are too cheap- her responce is that if she raises it a dollar, it'll come out to 13 dollars- which is unlucky in Chinese culture.
She's a gem. She is shy and is very respectful of different cultures and traditions. She honors and respects ALL families- if you know what I mean.
