Don't blink your eyes because you might miss it. We stayed here and used my wife's corporate discount for our stay. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. When we checked in, they gave us some goodie bags that had a book, medicine, and water. The rooms were nice size. We got a king size bed and a fold out couch. Free wifi with kitchenette were a plus. Plenty of parking underground. Free breakfast buffet was ok. First come, first serve applies for breakfast or else you better settle for scraps.
This place rocks! Nice, newer building, clean rooms, friendly staff. Also, it's about 1-2 miles from Manhattan Beach, and about 5-6 miles from LAX. Checked in early and the nice young lady at the counter hooked me up with a cheaper rate when I asked, then gave me the low-down on the local area. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfy. There was also a kitchenette, couch, and desk. The shower was hot and cranked relatively well. They also have free WiFi, a small workout center, a courtyard on the inside (to which the rooms face), and a large breakfast bar in the AM. Although slightly more expensive than some of the area hotels, it's clean, with great service and good location.

What a fantastic hotel. Two friends and I needed to go to LA for a wedding. The Hawthorn Suites was a prefect option because the two-bed suite also had a fold out couch. We we're super impressed with the free wifi and the kitchenette. Our hotel proved to be such a great pick that when other members of our wedding party saw our hotel room the decided they'd rather sleep on the floor in our place at Hawthorn then sleep in a bed at their hotel down the street. Even with five people, the Hawthorn Suites was comfortable and pleasant to stay at. - Just don't come here looking for a view.
