Um. The A/C unit is as loud as a freight train and the outdoor noise is also as loud as a freight train. I dont know where the heck it was comming from. There is a 24hr jack in the box next door and its like every 15min some cool guy with a riced out honda pulls in and revs their engine. There is also a gas station next to the hotel, which also might of attracted these ricers. IT WAS LOUD! Also, the free internet was so slow I couldnt even do work from the hotel room. SO if you want to get sleep and get work done dont stay here.
ON THE OTHER HAND,
The staff was very nice, there is a free breakfast bar with hot food (just stay away from the eggs), and there is a complimentary happy hour from 530-630. These are all GREAT perks and I give my hats off to hawthorne for offering these items but I just cant give this place a good review because I couldnt sleep or work.
We've stayed at the Hawthorn 2 times now and have had a good stay both times. I do agree the AC unit is a bit loud, ok...really loud but the rooms are clean, the staff is super nice and the hot breakfast bar is great. The eggs were a bit weird, not sure if they were real or some packaged stuff. All in all, a great place to stay. I'll recommend it to friends who come to town.
