Jeff is amazing, and was very helpful in explaining my legal rights after my car was horribly damaged. All I wanted was what was fair-- and the only fair solution was a full repaint on the car. The damage was that extensive. I eventually won the claim, a major victory considering the age of my car.

During this loooong process I spent a lot of time in Haury's office. I drive a nice collectible german sports car and as such I get more favorable treatment say with valets, shops, etc. It just is what it is, right? Well, that does not matter at Haury's. I watched folks with old American jalopies or e-common-y Japanese cars visit Jeff and Zac for help with their car and their claim. The same gracious and patient service that was extended to me was extended to them!

Other reviewers here are correct. Insurance companies (like mine) will try to steer you away from Haury's. That is wrong, and against the law. Haury's gets this kind of flak from them because they have chosen not to take insurance contracts. Doing so would degrade the quality of their work. What that means is they will not cut corners unless YOU want them to. YOU are in control of your repair at Haury's...not your adjustor. That is the major difference with this shop-- they work for YOU.

One more thing:  as a higher-end car driver I HATE IT when the insurance company sticks me is a bubbly little 4-cyl go-kart. That is probably more painful than the accident itself!

But Haury's has the solution to that problem-- their rental program has what they call the 'Ultimate Rental Car', an E92 M3 (REALLY), and a very nice assortment of other FUN cars. Check it out!

Haury's is an honest, fair shop that will provide an independent assessment of your damage.  Jeff, and his crew, are extremely customer oriented.  I stopped in, and he was extremely helpful.  He took time to perform an thorough quote at no charge.

Jeff understands the process of fixing your vehicle.  His knowledge extends beyond the technical details to the process of working with the insurance company.  You can expect a high quality experience from Haury's Lake City Collision.

I've been fortunate enough not to be in many accidents, so when my car got hit a few months ago all I really knew was where to take my car for repairs, not what to do about the insurance hassles.

Jeff took the time to explain all the different outcomes that could happen, from the best case scenario to a protracted fight, and I felt more prepared and less stressed about the situation as a result.

Still, I was nervous about dealing with the other guy's insurance company, afraid of saying the wrong thing that could ruin my chances of getting a fair outcome. Haury's was able to handle most of the communication with the insurance company for me, becoming my advocate and taking the pressure off me.

It helps that my car came out of the situation on the other side top-notch. It is impossible to tell there was any damage before.

Highest possible recommendation for Jeff and his crew!

My scale:
5 of 5 Stars - Would make a special, even long-distance trip to go here, and evangelize its greatness to others
4 of 5 Stars - A go-to option, even if there were other more convenient or less expensive options available
3 of 5 Stars - Inclined to give it another shot, just to see
2 of 5 Stars - Would not go back, once was enough
1 of 5 Stars - Would actively avoid, would recommend against going to others, experience filled with great sadness and regret

Haury's does quality work.  After my 2006 BMW 330i was rear-ended, everyone in the region - dealers, enthusiasts, BMWCCA members - all said Haury's.  You definitely can't tell there was work done.

The paint, body, and aluminum frame repairs were expertly performed.

My only complaint was that the communication was not always perfect, and the time for the repair took a lot longer than estimated - but you won't find a body shop that doesn't have these traits.  Their business is fixing your car well, and Haury's does this.  Your experience may vary.

Some caution: your insurance company might be inclined to rate them 0/5, since they actually use precision equipment and don't bill labor the same as an estimator may want.  That said, the staff at Haury's is more than knowledgeable in these situations and has great advice.

9/08 Update: I was rear-ended again (!) and selected Haury's again; since my last experience, it seems that they've hired more office staff or are taking the time to keep customers better informed. I was pretty happy.

I was in the market for a BMW E36 M3. Brought in a few for Jeff Butler at Haury's to inspect before purchase. Jeff helped me pick the very best one and also helped negotiate a fair price. I've owned the car for 2 years and have put 70,000 miles on it. The car is perfect... Haury's has also installed MODs i.e. upgraded suspension (Ground Control) and bushings, under pulleys, high-flow stainless steel water pump, etc, etc. They always do a great job and even detail the car after service.

I've never thought any automotive shop could get 5 out of 5. There always seems to be something that's not perfect- maybe close, but not worthy of a perfect score. I've been in a couple accidents through the years and have gone to several body shops. I've been completely screwed by some, and treated well at others, but never have I had as great of an experience as I have had at Haury's. It was perfect!

A little back ground:
I've been in the unfortunate position of having been in an accident twice in my 2006 Subaru Sti.

The first time I took it to a friends shop- and they cut corners to cover my deductible for me.

I later took my car to Haury's because I heard that they were the best fender rolling place around Seattle. I brought my car in to get the fenders rolled, and that's when they asked me if I knew my car had been in an accident.

Of course I said yes I knew. Then they walked me back to the shop area to show me a couple things while my car was on a lift. They basically showed me every little corner my friend's shop had cut to save me money. I felt a little embarrassed and didn't mention the name of my friend's shop. I was amazed at how they took an educating approach to showing me everything- not like they were just trying to bash someone else's work. They seemed to really care.

Long story short, they rolled my fenders for me so that I could fit wider tires on my car- and they did amazing work, and even corrected some of the shoddy work done by my friends shop to get it done perfectly and make it a perfect fender roll. If you are looking to get your fenders rolled definitely bring your car to Haury's

Okay, now fast forward to a couple years later. I got rear ended by a drunk driver in Belltown who had no insurance- but drove a new Infinity g35!!! I thought my car was totalled, but my insurance company, Allstate wanted to save some money and said that it was repairable.

I knew that I wanted to take it to Haury's after seeing what perfectionists they were. So I told my claim rep that's where I was going to take it. My claim rep said that, "oh, they aren't certified" I know for a fact that they are certified to fix all the Euro brand cars, and they are even the only shop in the PNW that is certified to work on the new Nissan Skyline GTR. Plus, I've seen the work they do on all sorts of high-end cars, old classics, imports, and domestics. I saw a guy's 76 suburban that he was restoring after it got out paint and had all new chrome- and it looked amazing! And I don't like suburbans....

So to make a really long story short, my car is fixed, it's way better than it was after my friend's shop's repair, it's even better than it was brand new in every way! Better paint than what Subaru used from the factory. It is beautiful! I almost think it is so nice that I don't want to drive it!!!!

Okay, so I LOVE my car and will always drive it- that's what it is built for!

If I can sway anyone to take their car there and be as happy as I am with the quality of the work and the service, I am sure that you will love everything.

One warning, the major (also known as cheap) insurance companies will probably steer you to go to their favored repair facilities that cut corners to save money for both the insurance co and the shop. Haury's demands using all OEM new replacement parts whenever possible which tends to be a little more expensive- but it is your right to get your car repaired correctly and back to pre-accident condition by whatever shop you choose.

I still can't believe that I actually had this good of an experience with a auto-body shop! They deserve all five stars! They were all around perfect!

Quick, professional and honest. They fixed my poor dented pick-up truck and replaced the window that got broken.  Hopefully I'll never need to take my truck in for body work again, but if I do, they will be the first ones I call.

I can't give any auto  body shop a 5/5, but Haury's comes pretty close. Robyn's assessment is spot on-quick, reliable, honest. I took my BMW there upon the recommendation of a friend, and they did a great job fixing my bumper and replacing a tail light. Their estimated timeline was significantly faster than Metro Auto rebuild in Seattle. Both companies are recommended shops by Seattle BMW, but I'd go with Haury's over Metro any day. We also settled this payment outside of insurance and they were incredibly efficient and courteous.
