Let me begin this review by stating that it is always a foolish idea for a New Yorker to go outside on New Year's weekend, as you will undoubtedly be jostled and shoved in all directions by cumbersome tourists clogging up the sidewalk.  Such an unfortunate phenomenon happened to me; worse, I was shoved not only to the edge of the sidewalk, but, as fate would have it, right into a fire hydrant.  And, as Murphy's Law would have it, I tore my brand-new down-filled coat on said hydrant.  I was beyond livid, but fortunately, after the holiday weekend was over, I attained a degree of rationality and found my way to Hattan Cleaners.  I was very concerned about the coat, since part of the tear had gone off of the seam, but the expert tailors at Hattan were undaunted.  A week later, when I picked up the coat, I was incredulous-- it looked perfect!  I inspected it closely, many times over, and could not discern that there had ever been a tear.  I could barely believe my eyes.  Everyone on staff there is very friendly, too, which is always a relief in this town.  I am thrilled to have found Hattan, and will definitely go back for all my tailoring needs (and, seeing as I'm 5'3", I need tailoring quite a bit!)  

So, the moral of the story is: if you absolutely must go outside amongst the throngs of tourists on a holiday weekend, keep Hattan Cleaners' number handy!
