If you live in San Francisco, you'll consider this the road less traveled.

Has Beans Coffee and Teas is wedged in a suburban shopping mall far far away in the distant universe of San Ramon.  Yet, it's worth the tire rubber if you feel compelled to take a road trip to the East Bay.  You won't be going there for the coffee, but the sweet couple who owns the place, and knows more about tea than any two people I have ever met.  Patient, charming, and steady, these folks have kept breath in their little establishment for 25 years...even in the face of Big Bean sprawl.

There selection of tea is pretty staggering, and challenges those tea shops we love and frequent in the City.  They also have the much-speculated to exist "Caffeine-Free Japanese Sencha Green Tea".  Just don't tell anyone because it's a secret.

Their mocha's are the best EVER!!!!!!!!

That's just how strongly I feel about it.  I like them because they aren't super sweet.   Think more dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate.

The place has a very nice neighborhood coffee shop feel even though it is in what I suppose is technically a strip mall.
Their whole beans are great too - I recommend the Diablo Sunrise or Chris' Blend blends.

But have I mentioned that I kind of like their mochas?
