First of all, I have to confess that I booked us a room at Harvey's by accident. I really swear I was on the Harrah's website and they had a little thing about a Deluxe Room deal so I booked it--only to find out I had booked a room at Harvey's. Luckily we were feeling adventurous/too lazy to bother changing our reservations, so this weekend we were checked into Harvey's.

Nice room, reasonable price, great views if you are in the tower and are in an evening numbered room. Odd numbered lower leveled floors have views of....a wall...... The reason I know this is because our first night we were next door to an awful family. They were blaring Spanish language TV on full blast and had numerous children, one of which was just shouting and screaming all night long until 1 or 2 am and started up again at 7. I called security after making an attempt to pound on the wall to no success. I went down to the front desk all sleepy like in the morning and asked to have my room moved and explained the situations. They immediately let us switch rooms. Very good.

I was happy with our stay here, would stay again, but am also interested in checking out other places in South Lake Tahoe. I was thinking for some reason that South Lake Tahoe would be a little more similar to Vegas for some reason and was very mistaken. It was quaint and pretty on since it is off season, very relaxed, quiet, and chill. Very nice.

We checked out the casino, where I lost $50 in the slots, boooo, and also the game arcade which was FREE ALL DAY on Halloween. I admit.....we spent about 5 hours there between our morning visit there, our mid-day visit there, and our late night visit there. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone. After hours playing "Dance Maniax" I was dripping sweat. God, I love that game. (Just checked on YouTube, and compared myself to people playing that game in the malls around Asia. On a scale of a 1 to 100, 100 being really awesome at that game and one being a total rhythm-less dweeb, I am giving myself a 10. Still pretty low. Always room to improve LOLZ, just found my new mission in life.)

After spending 3 nights in a refurbished lower room I felt like Norm in Cheers. Everyone knew my name and and my drink at least at very craps and roulette table.

Harvey/Harrahs has a great lake cruise tour on the Tahoe Star. This 54 ft yacht used to tool around the lake with Frank and Dino. (tip: get a Players card for MONDO savings). Free drinks!

Stellar salt water pool with an infinity edge. Very nice temperature and clean. (Tip: the restroom behind the pool has extra towels).

Most of all I enjoyed the people. Lake Tahoe visitors are chill and real.

points to harveys for their poker room, and their arcade is better than harrahs.  but boooooo for the poorly planned layout!

it's so convenient to have the tunnel connecting the harrahs and harveys casino.  it used to be so easy to walk over from harrahs with the kids and hit up the arcade; the toughes part was just navigating through harrahs' casino floor.

now the challenge is navigating the crowds of drunken and obnoxious (and probably a few underage) clubbers waiting to get into the cabo wabo cantina which apparently is a huge nighttime draw these days.  the tables outside the restaurant (and in the walkway) don't help either.

and god help you if there's a private party at cabo wabo, as there was on july 4th; we watched the fireworks show from harveys' rooftop and were on our way back to harrahs only to be turned away and directed to detour out onto the strip and walk to the out-of-the-way crosswalk, without any warning.

boo - i feel like such an old fart, but really what genius thought it would be fine to set up a club so the line snakes back to the arcade?!?

Stayed 1 week in an upper floor room with a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe and the Sierras.  This view alone is worth 5 stars.  I dropped to 4 stars because they make you pay extra for wi-fi and the exercise room!  We were here during the annual Sports Celebrity Golf tournament.  It was interesting  to see all the sports stars in the casinos.  We ran into a Pittsburgh, PA tv news crew doing a story on the Big Ben floor concierge affair.

They gave us free rooms for several nights.  Who can complain?  I will!  The room, just a basic one, was spacious and had a lake view, but the ventilation system was crap.  The room was stiffling and never cooled down no matter how low we put the temperature or high we put the fan.  Also, the bathroom needs serious remodeling: mauve marble.  The carpet is grey all over.  The fridge didnt work, so they brought another one up on a trolley and left both in the room, which was odd.  Still, for free it wasnt that horrible.  Also room service was quick, friendly and the food was tasty.

I was very pleasantly surprised with my stay at Harveys. It was my first time staying in casino in Tahoe (usually stay in a cabin or a normal hotel). Stayed here Halloween weekend, Friday and Saturday for less than $150 TOTAL(booked on travelocity) in one of their bigger rooms. The price was so cheap I didn't expect anything great. But for the price it was spectacular...it was very spacious, had a large flat panel tv, usable mini fridge, and cute boutique-like decor. The bathroom has 3 sections...a sit down vanity area w/sink, separate water closet, and then another sink/vanity where the shower and bathtub are.  Staff was friendly. We received a coupon book at check-in for restaurants/stores in Harrah's and Harveys which had some pretty good deals in it (apparently it came with our room package because our friends who were also staying here couldn't get it, but it was still cool) Anywho...I will definitely return here again when I want to stay in a Tahoe casino/hotel!

This was one of the smokiest, loudest casinos in Tahoe. There's an inside walkway/tunnel from Harrah's to Harvey's.

Yeah, its a totally decent place for Tahoe.  Im not into gambling so I couldnt give an accurate review of the casino, but the room was nice, huge bathroom, clean.  Cabo-Wabo and the Hard Rock Cafe in house.  Easy check in, I reccomend it.

Forced to stay the night here.

Minus one star for the creepy ass concierge at the front desk.

Cheap gambling and nice modern looking rooms.

Decent pricing on the rate. I literally showed up with my girl at 1 in the morning and said we needed a place to stay and we stayed for the night. 90 bux. Ehhh, whatever... who comes to Nevada and doesn't plan on spending any money?!

Good stuff Harvey's.

We came here for my hubby's company conference for the weekend.  We've never stayed here before.  I have to say, the rooms are nice and from the research we did, it's an affordable place to stay.

It's connected to Harrah's through a tunnel and the casino area is larger than Montbleu's.  Overall, not too bad.

We had a wonderful time here and would definitely come back.  They have Cinnabon in the hotel too! Yum!

The rooms are spacious and our room had a great view of the snow capped mountains and the lake.  Not too shabby!

We stayed here for Valentine's/President's Day weekend.  We booked about a month in advance and had almost no problems checking in. The main issue was that my boyfriend paid with a debit card, and they charged us $50 a night because of that.  I guess that charge disappears after our stay, but I still don't get why they did that, since the debit card could be processed as a credit card... Kind of sucked when we were on a budget on our vacation and had to put an unexpected $100.

Our room was fairly small, but the bed was comfortable enough.  We had a view of both the mountains and the lake, so that was pretty cool.  The bathroom was my main issue.  First of all, I'm pretty sure that the description when we booked the room said that there was a separate tub and shower, but that wasn't the case.  The shower head was... floppy?  It didn't adjust, it just hung there, and when we tried to move it, it just swung around..  Really inconvenient.  Also, the shower curtain liner was too short to stay inside the tub while taking a shower.  This led to a very wet bathroom floor throughout our stay!

Also, housekeeping... They made our bed and took out our trash, and that's all.  I was kind of irked they didn't restock the shampoo and conditioner, as most decent hotels do.  I have very long and thick hair, and those tiny bottles are normally just enough for one wash.  So that sucked.

The walls were also pretty thin.  When we got back to our room on Valentine's night, we were... celebrating, and our neighbors ended up pounding on our wall.. repeatedly.  What a mood killer.  Not only that, but there must have been some teen group  (or really obnoxious group of girls... or something) staying on our floor, because both mornings, we heard giggling girls running around and shouting... WAY TOO EARLY in the morning.  *Scowl*

Overall, we had a decent stay.  The hotel was nice enough.  Cinnabon downstairs was yummy, and staff was altogether pretty nice.

Harvey's is a great place to stay when snowboarding at heavenly. it's close to everything with a casino downstairs.

We got an upgraded newly remodeled room that was very nice. It had a  flatscreen tv, a nice view of the mountains and was very spacious.

The rooms don't have coffeemakers or free wi-fi (is it 2009 or what?)

There's a Starbucks in the lobby and a Cinnabon downstairs.

We supposedly got upgraded to better rooms but the room was 3.5 at best. The room was pretty clean, standard, OK but the bathroom was outdated. The blanket was also ridiculously thin and we had to call house keeping to bring us 3 extra blankets because it was freezing at night.

The fridge wasn't plugged in and the carpet had some stains here and there. This isn't my number one choice to stay at but to be close to Heavenly and pay this price, you have to compromise I guess.

The view with the lake was also a nice plus.

Cons:
- fridge not plugged in, empty, no beverages/snacks availability
- no robes, slippers and all those frills
- no coffee machine

Pros:
+ hair dryer

We booked a room in advance for 3 ppl, but when we arrived, they said the only rooms available was with a single king.  We had no choice but to be moved to a room with only one king bed and had to squeeze a twin bed in the cramped room.  Room reeks of smoke (we asked for non-smoking).  No coffee machine or mini-fridge.

Pro's:  decent casino for those who don't ski/snowboard;  awesome deals on the room; walking distance to the gondola and village.

We stayed in the hotel here, and that's mostly what I'm reviewing.

We checked in late (9:30 p.m.) and asked about late check-out. I guess they don't do that. We had reserved a room with a king and were told they only had two queens. Bummer. We sleep on a queen at home, so I was looking forward to the bigger bed.

The bathroom was pretty cool -- tub separate from shower. The tub is big enough for two people, which is also nice.

There were little extras in the room that you don't see much anymore:
- benches at the foot of the beds
- a stool and vanity area for doing makeup
- an empty fridge (which honestly was kinda dirty looking)

The worst part of our stay, however, was the fact that all but one sit-down restaurant closed at 10:00 p.m. That's not cool. We had to eat at Sierra Choices (or whatever it's called). It was great for what it was, but we wanted to try something else.

Also, the staff weren't very welcoming. We are guests, we have questions, it happens. I guess if you're not gambling and half-drunk, you don't get any attention.

I had a pleasant and relaxing stay here this past weekend.  A little under $80 a night was a pretty good deal for the quality of our room.

I wasn't expecting much from the room, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how spacious and clean it was.  I especially appreciated how the potty had its own detached room from the main shower, bath, and sink area, which is quite convenient for those staying with a bathroom hog.

Our bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were another story.  If you're the type that can handle a super firm pillow, you will have no problem sleeping here.  If not, then I would suggest bringing your own pillow if you don't want to wake up with a stiff neck.  I'm still can't turn my head without being reminded of the long hours I stayed awake because of that stupid pillow.

The free parking in the attached garage is pretty convenient.  The location near Heavenly is even more convenient.  As far as the casino goes, I think I prefer the one at Harrah's a little more than Harvey's, but I had fun losing my money at the craps table nonetheless.

Overall, this wasn't one of the best places I've ever stayed at, but it was a great value and very convenient for my snowboarding trip at Heavenly.

5 STAR GYM @ Harvey's ! ! !

Free for Platinum, Diamond and 7 Star Total Rewards Players.

I've been to Harvey's many times.  The first time I got  a room in Lake Tahoe in early 2000 was Harvey's.  So it's the first hotel I think of when I consider staying at Stateline.

My most recent stay was 09/06/2008 to 09/07/2008.  Excellent Deluxe Room for $79.00 on a Saturday.  I lucked out by getting room #1843 which was an end room with an incredible view of the mountains of the Heavenly Resort and the oh-so-blue Lake Tahoe.

Why 5 STARS?
- FREE swimming pool for hotel guests
- For Total Reward players, Platinum and up FREE gym and steamroom use !  No need for me to sign up for Sierra Athletic or Push.
- FREE Valet Parking service
- Great covered 5 story indoor parking (not so at Harrah's across the street.
- Oh they also happen to have a  lucky casino !

I'd definitely stay here again !

Harvey's has always been a favorite spot for me in Tahoe.  Great party scene there with bands playing in two different venues and unlike Thunder Valley, you don't have to pay for the cocktails at the tables.  The service from the staff was excellent.

The rooms have been nicely remodeled.  The beds are very comfortable, I slept like a baby.  There is one glaring problem with the rooms... try finding a power outlet outside of the very large bathroom.  In this age, with all of the tech and mobile devices that need charging, you've got to at least have a few outlets available at the desk.  Also, my lake view room had a sliver of a lake view and a full on view of the parking garage.

My other disappointment was with the breakfast.  I had the buffet and I would classify it as cafeteria food.  It was unappealing to the eye and bland to the tongue.

Friends and I went here on a whirlwind tour of Lake Tahoe on a very beautiful sunny saturday and stayed here at harvey's. We all shared a room which made it cost only 25 per person woo hoo! On arriving we chose to use the valet and they were "on the spot". The valet whipped a luggage carrier over and made arrangement to have it delivered to our room. The bell hop showed up no more than ten minutes later and  asked if there was anything else. We asked if it were ok to store some beers and water in the mini bar he then had an additional fridge delivered free of charge and an extra bed for me to crashon so I wouldn't have to spoon with my friends girlfriends brother.

Overall The place is very tidy. The casino could use a little better ventilation for us non-smokers. The pool area and gym are very nice with a bar that serves appetizers and fruity concoctions. I will definitely be staying here again If I do return to Tahoe

My review is for the Casino only, as I did not stay there.

What can I say?  The casino looks, acts and feels as many other casinos. Lot's of game tables, slot machines, loud people, free drinks, etc.

My main objection is that they still allow smoking in the casino.  In this day and age, you'd think they would care about the serious proven health issues of 2nd hand smoke for both their employees and the guests.

It reeks of smoke once you walk in, and of course you come home with your hair and clothes smelling like Harvey's.

Just amazing in this day and age, but once again shows how the aspects of getting as many gambling dollars as possible way overshadows common sense and a desire to care for employees.

Come on Harvey's (and all the other casinos).  The smokers are banned from all indoor buildings everywhere else.  Do you really think they won't come to gamble if you set aside outside or completely enclosed smoking areas for their use?

My absolute favorite casino in Tahoe! I just won $200 over the weekend on slots here - they seem really loose. While I was playing on Sunday, I was given $10 credits for losing a little over $40. Their staff literally came up to me and handed me a coupon for $10 while playing the slots. It was awesome. The waitresses also come up to you frequently, even if you're playing 5 cent slots. The staff also constantly keeps the place clean, which isn't something I can say for some of the other Tahoe casinos.

I've also stayed overnight here but it's been awhile. From what I remember, the room was clean and tidy and the service was good.

Harvey's has been a long time family favorite, although it still looks the same now as it did back when New Kids On The Block were cool... LOL Some of the rooms are super nice, so do pay a lil extra for a suite... Cabo Wabo is good to grub at for lunch and the steak/seafood place on the top floor is fantastic with a beautiful view for dinner.
Too bad Tahoe is kind of a ghost town these days, guess the economy isn't helping. It's still a romantic and relaxing place to go and especially if you are trying to avoid crowds.
I have had luck in past years on the slots in Harveys but they seem a lot tighter now so money goes quickly. We usually stay at Harveys but play elsewhere so at least the money stretches a little.

   Cheers!

We went on a spur of the moment snowboarding trip last year and were completely unprepared.  I was worried about this because I like to be prepared for everything.

We got into town around 1am and after passing a bunch of motels, we decided to try our luck at getting a room at Harvey's.  The front desk guy was awesome--he got us into a 1-bedroom suite for under $100, and even gave us some snowboarding tips for the next day.

The suite was pretty big--it had a nice living room/common area space with a mini bar and maybe even a kitchenette (not entirely sure).  There were also two bathrooms--which is awesome for traveling with friends--you don't have to worry about someone (or yourself) dropping a bomb in there.  Super useful for when you get back from the buffet.

The rest of the hotel staff we encountered were as friendly as the front desk, especially the girls working the Speed Roulette table.

I'd definitely stay here again!

Headed to Tahoe for the Special Olympics Northern California "Celebrity Winterfest" which was taking place at Harvey's. Took Mama Q & Little Q along for the "Workation" so they could play while I did my work thang.

We stayed in a "Deluxe King" at Harvey's for two nights- which meant we got one of those cool pointy-windowed rooms that jut out and give you a view of the mountain and lake. You know, the ones that were added on when Harvey's expanded back in the late '80's. The room itself was great: massive, spacious, with plenty of  room for Mama Q, Little Q & I to spend a weekend.

The bell man and the valet were always extremely professional, polite, and efficient. The arcade in the lower level kept all of us entertained, especially Mama Q, who loves her some Skee Ball. It was nice to have access to Harrah's through the tunnel, as we could opt to never leave the confines of the temperature controlled environment to explore many dining & gaming options.

But Harvey's failed on two counts:

1) We showed up to check in at 4pm, as I had a 5pm reception to attend for the event we were in town to do. We were told that we couldn't check in until after 5pm, because there were no rooms available. After killing time in the arcade for 45 minutes, we circled back to a different front-desk person who quickly found a comparable room on the same side of the same floor to check us into instead. Good for her, but why couldn't the first person have figured that out?

2) Cigarette smoke in our room. We were on the 10th floor, which I was assured was 100% smoke free. But on multiple occasions we had cigarette smoke come flowing into our room from the hallway, and the hallway often filled with smoke. Multiple calls to the front desk resulted in zero action being taken.

I understand smoke on the casino floor, after all, I spent three years dealing blackjack on the South shore of Tahoe. But I also expect non-smoking to mean just that. It didn't ruin the weekend, but it did put a cloud over things, if you will.

Harvey's is a good place to stay.  The rooms are clean and spacious.  Service is uniformly good.  There's a good mix of restaurants from posh steakhouse (The Sage Room) to basic feed-your-face fare (Sierra Choices Cafe).  I do miss the Carriage House cafe, which is now gone.

For gambling, Harvey's has something for everyone.  There is a large selection of slots and video poker in all denominations.  They have all the usual table games plus the newer ones like Three Card Poker and Texas Hold 'Em.  There is a Poker Room and a Sports and Race Book.  I seem to have better luck here than across the street at Harrah's.

For the uninitiated, by all means sign up for a Harrah's Total Reward card.  It's free, makes it easy for them to track play and the program kicks in with comps... a good way to offset the vagaries of Lady Luck.

All in all, Harvey's is my favorite place to stay and play at Stateline.

WOW, as many people that come to this casino/hotel, there's only one review?    I enjoyed my visit to the Casino here.  It's not very big but the cocktail waitresses were very friendly and kept feeding this Poker player complimentary 7&7's.  Right on.  Today, a friend won $300 on slots.  It does happen.  And I was able to make $23 stretch on $.25 Deuces Wild machines for about two hours.  Not a bad time or place to hang with your friends.

Plenty of parking and they manage to keep the facilities clean with ease.

During our excursion up to the Tahoe/Reno area,my posse and I hit up many a casino. We found  Harvey's to be the crappiest of them all. Lowest return on slots; your money was pretty much gone immediately and you didn't even get to play very long compared to the other spots we visited. Also, not a single waitress came by and offered any of us a drink. Buying drinks at the bar? $4.50 for a bottle of budweiser? That's even pushing it for SF prices. We had way more fun at Horizons (see review)right next door!

If only we could get all those hot young boys from Harrah's to migrate over, then maybe they'd earn their 5th star.

Oh Harvey!

$79 for a classic room, king bed non-smoking.  Updated room with down comforter and nice fluffy pillows and a great view on the 10th floor.  The room was nice and clean, the bed was nice and comfy - not the rock hard ones they use to have.

We  ordered room service because I got altitude sickness and had the worst migraine in the world but after a nap and 2 doses of tylenol DH ordered food.  He got the clubhouse sandwich, fries and peach cobbler.  He ordered me french toast with fresh bananas on the side.  (We bring our own cooler of drinks - trashy maybe, but hell we didn't have to buy water/soda the whole time we were there)  Food came quickly and the room steward heard I wasn't feeling well and he called housekeeping for us and brought me a humidifier to help with my altitude sickness.  AWESOME!  Ok, the food we were expecting crappy airport like food but we were SO wrong!  It was really really good!  The sandwich was full with turkey and bacon and my french toast was crispy outside and moist and sweet inside and warm!!!!  We were happily surprised!  And all the food plus gratuity was $37 something!   But we gave him a tip anyways!

Poor DH we came up to celebrate his Bday and he ends up taking care of me the whole night and watching tv.  I lub him!

So we didn't gamble that night but we did in the morning and I won $200 with $40 in on roulettle YAY #27 and 00!!!  Hubby was playing WHEEL OF FORRRRTUUUUNNNNNE!!  But broke even.   Then I kicked his birthday butt in Air Hockey!

There is a Starbucks on the check-in level, a cinnabon also on the check-in level and that smell mixed with cigarette smoke - blah!

With the economy being so low we pretty much had the place to our selves with the exception of bused in cotton toppers who were happy to have the youngin's around to laugh at.

I really enjoyed staying here.  This was the first time since we usually stay at Harrah's or Embassy Suites.  But this is far cheaper and pretty much  on an equal level with Harrah's (a parent company)  So cool beans!!!

Harvey's is the best casino to stay in, in Tahoe.  The rooms are nice and clean and cheaper than Harrah's.  I love how you can walk back and forth from Harvey's to Harrah's and never have to go outside.  I stayed in a deluxe room and it had a huge 3 room bathroom.  Very comfortable.  I had a view of the California side lake and mountains.  It was very pretty to wake up to.  I will always stay in Harvey's.  I do wish they had a real fridge in the room instead of one filled with expensive drinks.

Harvey's and Harrah's are now run by the same people, so it seems a little silly to have them sitting across the street from each other. The games are the same, though Harvey's does have a poker room. You'll see dealers and cocktail waitresses shuttling through the tunnel between the two casinos for different shifts.

The Cabo Wabo club seemed to be a big draw here, though I didn't visit.

And one complaint that has to do with a guest, not the staff or facilites here. In Nevada, I play craps. It's about the only game you can't play in Indian casinos, and it has a rich history and lore all it's own. With these traditions come rules; some are formal, others unspoken. This rant falls into the latter category. If by some chance, you happen upon the craps table and decide to play, all are welcome. If you are lucky enough to join us at the craps table in the company of a lovely woman wearing a spaghetti-strap black evening gown, then kudos to you, sir. But when the croupier passes the dice her way and asks if she'd like to roll, for God's sake, don't refuse on her behalf! Why deny the rest of the table the sight of a beautiful woman rolling dice! Especially when superstition tells us that she'll be a moneymaker for the table. It's morally wrong not to give her some of your chips, say "Good luck, honey," and let her try to win the rest of us some money. It's South Lake Tahoe. We're lucky if people are wearing collared shirts. Your date looks like she's in a Bond movie and you can't spare a $5 chip for a pass line bet? You don't deserve her, sir. If you can't abide the rules, you shouldn't be allowed to play the game.

I'm a huge fan of Harvey's because everytime I've stayed here I've won money. Plus the fact the rooms are super cush now and clean!  I guess I played with a lot of money last visit because I earned some free nights, which is really cool because I'll get to go back....for FREE!  Every person I've encountered who works there is always friendly and helpful....not snobby.  (I hate snobs!) I would give Harvey's 5 stars if the gym was updated more. But other than that.....this place is really, really fun! My next visit will be a mountain bike trip. Can't wait!

Not so good. We had a recently remodeled room and the beds were uncomfortable, walls thin, and just not a great stay.  I wouldn't recommend this place.  We had to switch rooms because our neighbors were very noisy, and then they put us in a smoking room. I wouldn't recommend this place. It was just like staying at the Horizon which I wouldn't.
