One of the establishments in New Brunny that I still frequent when I am in town. The menu has grown surprisingly sophisticated in recent years. Last time I was there, I had salmon with tomatoes and asparagus over quinoa which was delicious, and very thoughtfully presented. Tastefully designed upstairs dining room. Good bar and microbrewery too, spent many fun nights there.

I've been to the Harvest Moon a little more than a few times. My impressions: The micro-brewed beer is very good. The Pale Ale is my favourite, with a nice consistent taste, without that sometimes overly strong "microbrew taste."

The food is good, although I found it to be a bit overpriced for what you got. I haven't been there for lunch, but the prices in the Lunch menu are much more reasonable.

The bar service can sometimes be irritatingly lackadaisical, but that can be the case when a bar gets hopping. Sometimes they have a DJ come in and spin dance music (?). And when the DJ starts up, I get out. There's nothing more irritating than trying to chat with a pal when someone's blasting "Rhythm is a Dancer" at you. It really isn't a dance club, I don't know why they do this.

All things considered, it's a capital place to go when you're looking for a tasty beer or two with a pal. And as long as you're not being assaulted by Haddaway, it's a good place for good craic.

Harvest Moon Brewery and Cafe is a great place in New Brunswick!  I've been here several times and it's been a great experience each time.

I'm not big on micro brewed beer.  However, even if it's not your thing you still might enjoy the Pale Ale or the Moonlight Ale.  It usually takes one glass to get used to it, but after that they'll go down as smoothly as your usual beer of choice.  Hope I don't offend fans of micro brews, but for those like me that usually drink commercial beers it can be a little strange being at a place that mostly serves micro brews so it definitely shouldn't be something that keeps you from going to the Harvest Moon.

I have a habit each week of visiting the Harvest Moon's website to see what the weekly specials are.  They have a chef that comes up with great weekly specials of dinner entrees, soups, pizza's, quesadillas, and lunch entrees.  I've enjoyed quite a few of the special soups and quesadillas on times we've stopped by for a quick bite.  I definitely recommend the hummus which is sometimes on the menu- it's just so good!  The turkey burger on the lunch menu is also a favorite.  Their french onion soup is among the best I've ever had.  My SO has really enjoyed their Pad Thai.

Harvest Moon is a great spot to watch sports.  I don't think it's exactly known for that, but I've had a great time watching some baseball and footballs games here.  I'm originally from the Philadelphia area and support the Eagles and the Phillies and it's been a lot of fun watching the games versus the NY teams here.

The Harvest Moon hosts live bands and other evening entertainment on most nights.  There's a schedule behind the bar you should check if you're interested.  I have to admit the place gets pretty busy then and if you're coming for dinner and prefer to dine downstairs it's best to come earlier.  It can get loud and crowded.

Overall, the Harvest Moon is a cool place and has some good food on offer.  Definitely a place to try in New Brunswick.

New Brunswick is full of restaurants, but this brewery is always packed with locals.  Good beer, good food, great atmosphere.

Harvest Moon is a great place.  Their homebrews are quite delicious.  I highly recommend the Full Moon Pale Ale for those who enjoy light brews and the Moonlight Ale for those who want something that's a little more robust but far from a heavy brew.

The food's not too bad, either -- I would go with friends for dessert and absolutely love their chocolate brownie dessert.  I haven't really tried any of the entrees.

If you're looking for a place where you can sit down, I would advise against going there on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night.  The bar downstairs is fairly tiny and gets crowded very quickly.  I know that they have an upstairs available but am not sure what the seating is like up there because on the nights that I went there, the upstairs was always closed.  If you are going on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, it's a great place to stop at before you head home, especially if you live in the Cook/Douglass campus area.

The place itself is a working brewpub...We walked and there was the smell of brewery cleaner (bleach, more or less) in the air...the brew master is actually working in and around the equipment and there were spent grains right up against the window. It is nice to go to a brew pub and see the equipment actually being used.

Being this was my first time there, I can not give a 100% accurate review, but I was very pleased with my lunch.  I had the Tijuana Turkey sandwich...a little dry...but was made with oven roasted turkey vs. regular deli meat, which was a nice surprise and made the sandwich that much more enjoyable.  Service was good...the waitress was a little spacey...but attentive...so I let her slide and we tipped her well for the holidays. ;)

I do have to rave about their Double IPA they have on tap. WOW!! Fantastic...one of the better beers I have had in a long time. I would have liked to sample a few others....unfortunately my co-worker had some reason still left in his brain and got us out of there before we wound up staying for the duration. LOL. Next time. (We did both buy a growler for further sampling...and a reason to go back).

Thumbs up to Harvest Moon. I fully intend on going back.

DON'T FORGET UPSTAIRS DINING ROOM - Somehow I managed to frequent the bar downstairs for a few months without realizing that the big stairs actually led somewhere.

GREAT
-They have an ecclectic menu with some really great salads - that coming from a "non-salad" person. Try the seared tuna salad....
-Karaoke here on Thursday nights, plenty of American Idols
-Bands playing on other nights during the week

BEER recommendations
-Jimmy D's Firehouse Red
-Moonlight ale
in that order...

Cool place.  They have some good veggie burgers and big bowl of nachos (kinda odd that they serve it in a big bowl).  The lunch menu is much less pricier, so I recommend that.  Service is okay- never had a bad experience.  They have bands playing here on various weekend nights- including Thursdays.  Apparently their beer is great, though I've never had since beer isn't my thing.

This is a great place to hang out.  The crowd is mixed, the drinks are fairly priced, and the beers are brewed in-house.  They offer a variety of house beers, as well as a variety of specialty and seasonal brews.  One house beer worth pointing out - Jimmy D's Firehouse Red - named after a New Brunswick fireman that was killed during a blaze. A portion of each beer is contributed to The Children's Burn Camp of the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation.   Nice, right?  I thought so.

If you're not a beer drinker - no worries - there's plenty of wine and liquor to go around. I've only been here on the weekend, in which a DJ is present and spinning hip-hop. There's a little dancing going on, particularly later in the evening, as the crowd really starts to feel the alcohol it's consumed - or was that just me ;)  Overall, this is a chill spot to hang out in NB.

Don't care too much for this place.  Its always over crowded and the service is quite non existent.  You got to beg and plead to  be served. The beer is okay!

Harvest Moon is probably one of the best places to just hang out and have a beer outside of your own living room. The amazing part is that on top of being a bar with a dining area, they are also their own brewery. The beer menu includes many beers brewed right there inside the building. Some of these are Moonlight Ale, *Jimmy D's Firehouse Red (see below), Full Moon Pale Ale, and (my personal favorite) British Nut Brown. And on top of all that, you can buy the beer to take home in half-gallon containers, which are also refillable to bring back and try another one.

They also include a full Lunch, Dinner, and Late Nite menu for anyone interested in grabbing a snack at the bar, or to enjoy a nice meal at a table. (Hint: Try the Bruschetta Pizza. Absolutely amazing!) Even better, they can host parties and events for you if you want, and even have a full Party/Event menu.

Check out their webpage for full info: http://www.harvestmoon...

*Note: The Jimmy D's Firehouse Red is dedicated to Jimmy D'Heron, a firefighter who lost his life on September 3, 2004 in a house fire. The 15 occupants all made it out alive thanks to his efforts. A portion of every sale goes to The Children's Burn Camp of the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation. www.ctburnsfoundation.org

This is one of my favorite weekend lunch spots in NB. They make some crazy good brews there and the food is really great too. Gourmet burgers and all kinds of great stuff. Nothing helps a hangover like a good burger and some fresh brewed beer.

Good place for casual but interesting dinner.  Sweet potato fries are yummy.  Entrees range in the $15 to $20 range but burgers, burritos, and pizza available for $10. Good beer and selection.

in my short stay in this area, i never once hit this place. upon arrival years later, it's actually quite nice, the service is lame but a nice and handsome crowd. very laid back, not rowdy, great joint to kick back and just hang with the fellas..its got a nice, homey feel. were it not for the large stamp reminscient of library due date stamps on my hand, i would've forgottten i was actually at a bar-its very comfortable and worth the venture if you're in the area.
