We came back to the Harvest Inn to celebrate our two-year wedding anniversary. It was refreshing to finally stay here as a guest and not as a stressed-out bride. Aside from one snafu, it was a thoroughly enjoying stay.

The Harvest Inn was having crazy good deals on their website, 35% if you prepayed an advanced stay. Beat out other deals at cheaper places in Napa!

We stayed in a Fountain View Room, which is part of the newer section on the property. The room was gorgeous. Large and bright, with a balcony to enjoy the NV sunsets. The bathroom was breathtaking, with an oversized tub and giant shower. Other perks of the room included a complimentary bottle of Merryvale Sauvignon Blanc and free tasting, DVD player, and - my fav - L'Occitane toiletries. The only bad part of the room? It backed to the 29 (BOO). The first night was unpleasant, hearing the trucks and cars zoom by at all hours. The next morning I called up to switch rooms, but they were booked solid and couldn't move us. They politely offered to bring up an osculating fan to drown out the noise; I declined, and bought ear plugs at Target in Napa (pretty pink ones).

I l-o-v-e the grounds at the Harvest Inn. They're kept up so beautifully. They offer a daily tour with the head landscaper, which is neat. I still think it's the most picturesque place in the Napa Valley to get married. : )

The breakfasts at the Harvest Inn are delicious. The buffet offers everything from quiche to amazing pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, and a variety of breakfast drinks. The outside patio is awesome - sitting next to the vineyards with unobstructed views of the Mayacamus Mtns., munching on a fresh morning bun, sipping yummy coffee... heaven.

Make sure to check out the jacuzzi after dark. There's absolutely nothing better than soaking in their large jacuzzi, starring up at the stars in the smog-free sky, sipping a glass of wine. It's so awesome, that my friends and I used to jump the fence and enjoy the same while going to college here (he-he)...

So, kids, what's the moral of this story? Check the website for deals, take a tour of the grounds, enjoy their breakfasts and request not to stay in rooms 405-424. Class dismissed.

Awful.

I've used this hotel for business and am constantly disappointed.

The only positive thing about the hotel is its location.

The rooms are meh.

Customer service, to put it directly, stinks.   I've been placed on hold for long periods of time.  So long, that I had to hang up & call back.  I've had to correct them on wrongly set up reservations.

Beware their 7 day cancellation policy; it is designed to screw over potential guests.  In the hotel industry, if there is a 7 day cancellation policy, that usually indicates lackluster business and desperation.

We recently held our wedding at The Harvest Inn - and are soooo glad we chose this spot.  So many people commented how beautiful it was to sit directly adjacent to the vineyards.  The Harvest Inn offered everything we wished for in our wedding: views, lovely accommodations, and redwood trees all in one.  For all of our guests coming from the east coast and beyond, it felt like a journey into a fairy tale land.

As for the staff - I cannot say enough good things about them.  I have read a number of other reviews on this site and can say that we had a completely opposite experience.  The staff were incredibly lovely and willing to help.  I will say that this is not a big hotel with full event staff in place - if that is what you are looking for, then this will not work for you.

But, as a wedding site and as an inn before and after our wedding (we stayed on for two additional nights), the venue could not have been more perfect.  All of the staff were accommodating and a pleasure to work with.  (Of course, much credit needs to be given to our wedding coordinator who worked out so many details and managed every aspect of our event - see the review on her)

In terms of a wedding venue, I will say that we learned a major lesson in the process of working with the Harvest Inn.  There was a changeover in the events management staff and a lot of our agreements were lost in the shuffle.  We had been promised things that were not fulfilled.  Our lesson was to get everything in writing - duh!  For all of the agreements that we had in writing, the new event manager was very willing to work with us.  Oh - and did I mention that she worked closely with our coordinator and was on top of every detail?

As for lodging - our guests stayed in fireplace rooms and all loved them (I cannot comment about the newer or smaller rooms).  We stayed in the two nicest rooms on property - one had a jacuzzi right on the deck.  We loved our rooms and cannot wait to return for a special occasion.

If you go to The Harvest Inn, stay in one of the nicer rooms.  And if you are considering it as a wedding location, I would say that you are lucky to have found such a lovely spot!  Just be sure to hire a stellar coordinator and make sure you get everything in writing.

Very cute place. The person at the desk was kind enough to upgrade us to a cottage room with a king size bed. Very nice of him. He also was very helpful in Googling restaurants and other "must visit" places. Breakfast was OK - some muffins were bland, others were too salty - but it was a decent spread.

We had a terrible experience at the Harvest Inn for our V-Day getaway...

The Harvest Inn is an institutional hotel setting trying to be a rustic Napa destination.  With little success.  Our room looked like an 80s Best Western (I've actually stayed at a Best Western that was NICER than this place).  The bathroom was about as romantic as a college dorm bathroom.  And we were given room 108 next to the "spa," so lots of foot traffic.  We would have bit the bullet had we not made SPECIFIC requests regarding privacy and the bathtub when we booked the room.

The service was equally as bad as the facility.  We booked the Harvest Inn over the phone with someone who actively sold the room to us (like a salesperson).  She assured us we would have a private room with a large bathtub.  As stated above, the room was next to the spa and the bathroom looked like a dorm's from 1987.  We immediately expressed our concern to the front desk staff upon arrival that the room was subpar to what was advertised.  They had another room for two of the nights (Friday and Sunday but not Saturday which was V-Day) that they offered us--and at first they tried to CHARGE us for the difference.  We thought about it and decided that our relaxing V-Day weekend was going to be pretty lame if we had to move rooms 3 times and spend V-Day in the crummy room.  Thus, we left the same day we arrived.

The Harvest Inn charged me for the full stay (even though I left 3 hours after arriving) and refused to take responsibility for the information they communicated when we booked the room.  The GM, Jack Burkheim, was extraordinarily rude when I spoke to him about our experience.  It was obvious from the moment I said "hello" that he wasn't interested in taking responsibility or correcting anything.  When I explained to him what we were told, he replied as if I was dumb for not being familiar with the property: "Of course, your room didn't have a large bath.  It's on [this] part of the property.  You should have booked a room in [that] part of property if you wanted privacy and a nice bath."

Our overall experience was terrible with Harvest Inn.  They were way too eager to book us a room and would have said anything to 'make the sale.'  The single star rating is for the nice lobby and the nice German exchange student at the front desk.

Moral of the story: I strongly recommend that you avoid this place.

It's a pretty property. The front staff is friendly. Nice breakfast in the morning and wine, fruit, and cheese in the evening.

Our room was nice. Big king bed, huge bathroom, fireplace.

Now here's the bad: the toilet chain in the tank kept falling off so my husband had to stick his hand in the tank to reconnect the chain. At 350 a night, I don't think we should have to be our own plumbers. When we told the front office, all they said was, "have you mentioned this to anyone before now?" And then a simple nonchalant, "sorry." Are you kidding me?

After that, I kind of got pissy that they never did anything for our 10 year anniversary even though they new it was why we were there. Honestly though, that didn't bug me until I got irritated about the toilet chain. lol. Well, and also the oversight was exacerbated when we dined at Terra (excellent French Med food) and when they found out it was our 10 year, the waiter brought out a dessert with chocolate script on the edge of the plate that said, "happy 10th anniversary." I wrote a review about Terra. More on that there. Terra made our night special. Harvest Inn didn't care much.

Oh yeah, the property is right by the main road. When we called we asked to make sure the car noise wouldn't be bad and they told us that it quiets down after 6pm. This is not true. The cars go by all night becoming especially bad at 5am. And this was a Saturday morning, so beware!!! Bring EARPLUGS if car noise bugs you.

I honestly would not stay here again. It was way too expensive for what we got.

Honeymoon!!!!

When we checked in with our dog, we had a beautiful flower arrangement and wine from our friends.....thank you Harvest staff for making us feel so special!

Did I mention our dog was with us?  Beautiful setting and dog friendly!  Yay!  We crated our dog in the room for about 3 hours each day during our tasting excursions, and he was happy as a clam, even with the cleaning staff coming in.  Also, my dog and I had lots of space to run in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The included breakfast was abundant and delicious each morning.  We had a glass of wine at the bar one night, which is located in a lodge-type setting.  Rustic, and a good opportunity to brush up on your German with the International staff :)

We'll be back!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Three years ago when I got engaged to my now husband, I was seriously contemplating having my wedding here. The grounds are very beautiful. It was either Napa or Maui. We chose Maui because I am from there and my family is way larger than my husband's, whose family is located all over the states.

To the surprise of many people, I would have to say that I would have saved thousands of dollars had I chosen this place because Maui is so expensive, not to mention limited. But I have to say that the follow up of my site inspection of the Harvest Inn was nonexistent. Not a single person called me asking if I had any further questions, if I wanted to see some rooms, if I wanted to come back to look at the property. Nothing....coming from someone who has worked at many hotels, I was pretty surprised about that. And now that I am reading some of the reviews on here by other people, I am happy I did not get married here.

Anyway, onto another experience there; my husband wanted to surprise me one weekend a few months ago and booked a room there because like I said before we wanted to get married there. I have to say that I was disappointed with our room on several levels. First of all, it was very dark (very little sunlight, due to a strange window that is a long narrow rectangle shape, placed very close to the ceiling so you have to stand to look outside ), and décor could only be compared to grandma style (sorry for all you grannies out there) you know like red floral printed comforters. The worst part was that the bed was extremely uncomfortable...extremely soft. It was by far the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. I have slept in Hilton beds that were much better than theirs. The only good thing was the bathroom. It was very modern looking with a huge bathtub and they provide bath salts. Mind you, this room cost more than $300 a night. It was a total waste of money. And the staff is truly nothing special. I don't know how they got there 4 diamond rating.

I have to give this place only 2 stars because it is totally overpriced for what you get. Seriously, you can stay at the Four Seasons in SF (depending on the season) for the same price and the experience will be night and day.

We loved staying at the Harvest Inn, and not just because my friend was the GM and gave us a deal.  I loved our room, which overlooked a lovely vineyard.  It was very nicely appointed and had many amenities like soft, cushy robes, dsl, massages, in-room breakfast, etc.  They offer limited spa services for those of you who like to be pampered.

Weddings are gorgeous here.  They really do an amazing job.  We saw more than one couple get married here, and we were only there two days.

Expect to pay about $400 or so a night.  That's the going rate in Wine Country for a nice resort hotel.  But it's a sweet little place with a good reputation for service and standards.  It's a nice alternative to Meadowood, if you don't have thousands of dollars to burn.

This place was great.  The staff was really attentive and friendly, I loved the nightly wine tasting/ cheese/ fruit/ crackers and I particularly loved their complimentary breakfast.  The breakfast is not a lousy affair of danishes but rather true french pastries, cereals (hot & cold), bagels, lox...and I believe they had other hot items too.
Okay, enough about the food.  You can get a really good night's rest here too.  It's quiet, clean, the rooms are comfortable and the grounds are nice for an evening stroll with some of the wine you might have scored during the day.  Ah wine, my favorite.

I got married at the Harvest Inn last weekend and even though it rained, it was a magical evening! We opted for the elopement package, so it was just us and two sets of friends. The wedding consultant  took care of everything. Once we picked a date, it was smooth sailing. From the flowers to the cake, everything was beautiful.

As for the rooms, I wanted to stay in the vineyard view rooms, but they were all booked So, we got rooms in the new fountain area. The rooms are huge and  very nicely decorated. They even have a fireplace controlled by a remote control, very cool. Bathroom was also very nice. Huge tub and walk in shower.

As for the grounds and location, they are perfect. At every little turn, you come upon a new little garden or other surprise. You also can walk through the grape vines and there are several wineries and restaurants within walking distance.

I might be bias, but I think The Harvest Inn is one of the best  spots in Napa. It's not cheap, but it is so worth it!!

This is a very expensive hotel (over $300 per night before tax, normally- unless you are lucky to find a good deal). Usually, I would stab such a property for being too expensive and overrated. But in this case, I give Harvest Inn 5 full stars; can't blame this special hotel for not being within reach!

We rarely enjoy staying at a hotel more than we did during our 3 day trip to Napa for Thanksgiving 2005. At the time, we got a "stay 2 nights, get the 3rd night free" deal- sweet! This way I paid a total of "only" 650 for 3 relaxing nights... Our room didn't have the amazing view towards the vines, as some other lucky yelpers described it, but even so, it was very nice! Huge, a bit retro, with a fireplace, very comfortable and cosy, with a firm king size bed, and especially, a free wireless internet. Everything smelled fresh and clean... impeccable! In addition, the hotel is situated "strategically", close to great restaurants, some shopping and many famous or not so famous (but still very good) wineries. Would love to go again; but this year- the deal is off. $320 is the cheapest we were able to find for this hotel.

Joie de Vivre for all those with unlimited budgets- enjoy. One day maybe I will join the club too. For now, I am just an aspirational user...

Haven't stayed here since the new addition, but our stay was brilliant. It rained a bit, as it was February. We went for Valentine's Day, which was a great idea since it's a bit off-season for Napa and makes things cheaper and more private. The rooms are grouped together in bungalow style (a few to a bungalow all sharing a pool and an upstairs massage/treatment room) we had both all to ourself!  We had the jaccuzi at night all to ourselves, followed by a warm fire in our fireplace, and yes boys, they have cable tv, though you won't need it ;)
We thought this was going to be our wedding site, because we'd loved our stay so much, we just weren't very impressed with the coordinators presentation...we enjoyed it much more walking around the grounds on our own envisioning the wedding.

Um, let's see. I tried to elope here, but I never heard back from Karyl Bridgewater (Special Events Manager) regarding the final revised contract. She never called me to follow up either. Oh well. I am not a chaser.

The Inn is nice and does offer decent elopement packages.

Elopements
Package includes:
Professional on-site coordination of your event.
**One King Vineyard View Guestroom for two nights
Ceremony Officiant and License
Professional Photographer for two hours
Small wedding cake
White or Ivory rose bouquet and boutonniere
Bottle of Schramsberg Sparkling Wine

**Friday and Saturday Event Package Pricing: $2,995; includes a King Vineyard View guestroom for two nights.
**Sunday to Thursday Event Package Pricing: $2,495; includes a King Vineyard View guestroom for one night.

Additional Enhancements:
Have your ceremony on the Vin Rose Lawn: $300
Executive Suite Upgrade: $300 per night.

Please note, if you are considering an elopement, you won't be IN the vineyards. You'll be married on a balcony of your room, overlooking the vineyards.

The grounds are nicely manicured and has a chateau feel to it.

I just wish I experienced better customer service.

Good luck.

so i guess i'll just sing the praises of this place like everyone else.

word of warning: was considering not going - canceling - and staying in SF.  but when i called to cancel they told us they relentlessly enforce the 7-day-cancellation policy and there were not only going to charge me for the first night but BOTH nights if i were to cancel within 7 days.  a forfiture of over $1000 didn't seem like a smart thing to do so we went.

Room: HUGE.  as big as most apartments in SF.  bed was massive and sturdy.  bathroom, very nice and large, but no jacuzzi bath.  why, you ask?  because we had our OWN PRIVATE JACUZZI on our private terrace overlooking the vineyard and valley!    oh yeah.  definitely get the "vineyard view" if you can!  fireplace was very easy to work.  for some reason there were SIX steps to lighting the fireplace when i think: "light log with match" would have sufficed.  fireplace and view and private terrace + jacuzzi was amazing.  tv was nice but we didn't really watch it.  word of warning: the CD player they have does NOT have an ipod jack, so you need to actually bring CD's!  they give you a decent jazzy one so we just played that one.  was good.

Location: they say it's a 15 minute walk to downtown, main street, st. helena but i think that's a stretch.  maybe if you power-walk in jogging shoes, you might make it in 15 minutes.  but it's a very short drive.  we went to a restaurant named "Market" and it was awesome!  then (becuase we arrived so late) we needed to go to the safeway in St. Helena to get wine to take back to our jacuzzi.  they have a very good wine selection at the safeway there.

Pools / spas: pools were not olympic or palace sized.  but they are servicable for a place with only 74 rooms.  good thing: they are open 24 hours!  nothing i hate more than a hotel with a nice jacuzzi that closes the darn thing at 10pm.  a midnight soak is required.  of course, our need to use the hotel jacuzzi for our midnight soak was alleviated because we had our own jacuzzi on our terrace (swanky!).  downside: the pools don't get tons of sun by virtue of where they are situated on the property.  they get a lot of shade.  so if you want to bask in the sun, you have to get the right chair and get there early.

staff: seemed very friendly and competent.  didn't interact with them too much.  which, i suppose, is ideal.  while using the hotel pool and drinking wine, someone came out to take our glasses (no glass by the pool) and they gave us plastic cups and a plastic container for the wine.  AND (nice) they asked what room we were in so they could have someone send 2 more clean wine glasses to our room to replace the two they were removing.  good job.

spa: servicable.  we only got massages and they were fine.  didn't know what other services they had.  we got the outdoor massage where we could see the sunset but - duh - you can't watch the sunset while getting a massage. i'm sure the masseuse enjoyed it.

misc: the 530-630pm wine tasting was very cool with cheese and fruit. the grounds were beautiful!  no complaints at all. except of course for the $500/night rates!

Huge rooms, fireplace, ambiance, the grounds are amazing, free continental breakfast to the great coffee. An example of the rule "you pay for what you get". Fortunately, it was a business trip so it was for free. No exercise rooms but two pools.
Stay here if you expect the best, your quiet times  around lush grounds and a huge comfy room. It keeps you relax when you have to work in St Helena for a week, where most stores are closed at 5 pm unfortunately.

I wanted to be the first to give this place four stars, really I did. My expectations for a five star Inn are quite high - especially for their rates. Unfortunately four stars isn't even an option despite trying to justify it - I know I know.

During check in I asked for an overview of the grounds since it's like 8+ acres. The reply was [German accent] "just walk around - walk around" [/accent]. This was classic and soon became the joke of our trip, but it was well put. Walking around the grounds is the best way to take it all in and it's quite nice. Only suggestion I have would be a walking path through the vineyard and vines, but there may be some sort of liability there.

The room was rustic, cozy and very spacious. Fireplace, stained glass windows, bricks and wood floors - awesome.

I won't continue on about the Inn, because others have and it's too easy. However, I will comment on the service which seems to have been missed in other reveiws and what I liked the most. Not the best service I've ever had but surely nothing to complain about and more importantly they went out of their way in a pinch for us.

We had reservations at a different spa for mud baths and massages. There was a mixup with the massages and a pretty big one. We wound up calling Harvest at 5:15pm on a Saturday asking if they could find a way to secure massages for us. With little hesitation they worked something out in the minute I was on hold and they were ready to provide a couples massage with two female masseuses (preference) as soon as we could get back to the Inn from Calistoga. On top of that, they asked if we'd like the massage in the spa, our room or the outdoor cabana near the vineyards. Well you know we chose the last option - how can you pass on outdoor massages (I sure can't)?

We took our time getting back, put on our robes, poured a few glasses of wine and strolled over to the cabana. They were already finishing the setup and ready for us. Extremely professional, extremely nice and extremely talented - both of them. The music, the sun, the smells and the sound of wind whipping through trees - doesn't get much better. Seriously though - the way things came about and the quality of the session made it one of the best spa/Inn experiences I've had.

Keep it up Harvest Inn!

This is where I got married and it will always be the most beautiful place in my mind..ahhh...It really is gorgeous, flowers everywhere, green and lush, filled with trees, peaceful and it looks out on to a winery.  Perfect for a weekend away and absolutely perfect for a wedding!

However, the rooms are a bit outdated for the high prices.  I would imagine that for almost $500 they would be amazing.  Not amazing, just nice.  However if you have a room looking out on to the vineyards, I'll take a nice room with an amazing view!!

This is the first trip I took with the woman I am madly in love with.  I can't say the Harvest Inn didn't help!  We were treated perfectly from check-in to check-out, from breakfast until dinner, and loved every minute of it.  Even with the rain we had that weekend, the grounds were lively but private.

I had a ton of help finding the room in the first place thanks to the excellent staff that called me back within a few minutes of my initial email.

Prager Port Works is next door (literally).  This is the place you may have heard of with the currency plastered all over the tasting room - do stop by, if not just for the experience.

The room was fairly large, with elegant but subtle fixtures and decor.  There was a bit of the "cabin" feeling, though that simply served to help the feeling of romantic seclusion.

The price is high, but this is Napa.  Well worth it.

Fantastic grounds and good service.  The peacefulness is wonderful.  The complaint is not the rooms themselves (size and wood burning fireplace are very nice) but the fact that the rooms are falling apart!  The rooms most likely have not been renovated since the place was built in 1985.  Our bathroom had peeling and stained wallpaper and the sink in the wet bar was so corroded around the edges that it no longer mated to the tile counter.  Please just remodel and this will be a five star facility.

Some of the best service I've ever had. I felt comfortable from check in to check out. They just put me at ease. So at ease, that when my boyfriend and I had a flat tire and were running late for our reservations at the French Laundry that we didn't doubt for a second that they wouldn't assist us. They called the FL and asked them to hold our reservation and explained the situation and then they drove us there themselves. We made it on time! They also inquired about our tire later and gave us suggestions of where to have dinner. Their suggestions were great!!

They gave us a free upgrade on our room and we had an amazing view of the vineyard out back. We stayed in the "Queen of Hearts". Such a big and wonderful room! We had a *real* fireplace too.

I will stay here every time I go back and when I decide I'm in the mood for fine dining.

if alice in wonderland were real, or at least if the foresty stuff in alice in wonderland were real, it would be this inn.  the grounds are so gorgeous, serene, and otherworldly that it's almost painful.  the entire experience was impeccable... the bed was outrageously comfortable and the bathtub was so huge we sprawled in it without touching.  they do a perfect job at creating a completely fairytale place, down to spiraling brickwork, individual villas, and so very many flowers in bloom.  even the wine bar was delightful, staffed by a sweet euro bartender who gave us a number of free tasting coupons.
take your queen of hearts here, stat.

This is by far my favorite place to stay in Napa. Its in a great location if you're doing wine tasting, and who isn't when in Napa. The place is wonderful and the grounds beat out anything in a 20 mile radius. OK, so granted the Auberge Du Soleil is also nice, however it's also over $1k per night. If you can, book their high end suite at the Harvest Inn - its a 2-level unit with 2 fireplaces that looks over the vineyards. The room interior, think high end shabby sheik. It feels as if you're staying at you're rich uncle's estate. As for what to do, I recommend doing the wine tasting at the hotel bar, they do a nice job and something fun to do before heading out to dinner. The only drawback I had for this place..... Its in Napa and I really prefer Sonoma as Napa can become overly touristy and crowded.

My friend and I were lucky to have gotten reservations at Harvest Inn during Napa Wine Auction weekend.  I don't think the photos on their website give justice to how charming and clean the hotel really is.  I'm known to be overly cautious about the sanitary conditions of hotel rooms but I didn't have any problems with this hotel.  I stayed in one of the bungalows facing the vineyard and had a patio, fireplace, and king bed.  Upon checking in I found a bottle of chardonnay and autographed copy of the French Laundry Cookbook -- The manager knew that I had reservations and made it a point to have Thomas Keller sign the book and address a note to me!  They also had a nice wine bar featuring wines from a new vineyard every week (when we checked in the wines were from Cake Bread) along with with cheese pairings.

If you make reservations, bring a swimsuit and take advantage of the jacuzzis, swimming pools, and spa treatments.  On my next trip to wine country, I plan on staying at the Harvest Inn.

adam and i took a california coastal trip ending our stay at the harvest inn.  we spent our new years there and it was incredibly peaceful, relaxing, quiet, etc. etc.

the room was so nice we ended up spending most of our time indoors (big bed, comfy pillows, flatscreen tv, fireplace).  there is a complimentary bottle of wine, breakfast and everyone there including guest's were so friendly and wonderful.

we had such a wonderful time and are looking forward to going back to the harvest inn soon.

Beautiful, comfortable inn. Outstanding customer service and gorgeous grounds (whomever did their landscaping was paid a lot of $!) I was there for a wedding and everything about it was perfect... the ceremony and reception were held outdoors... then when the sun went down we brought the dancing indoors. Highly recommended

I adored this inn.  It's set up like little bungalow areas so you feel like you have your own intimate space.  The rooms are large and luxuriously furnished.  The white robes are the best I've ever had.  It was a little on the expensive side (but normal for Napa) but well worth the extra hundred so you wouldn't have to stay at the Travelodge.   The massages were wonderful as well!  No complaints - I just wish we could afford to stay there longer.

We had intended to stay at Silverado, but when we checked in, it was totally a time-share location! Just terrible, and we wanted to be closer to St Helena.  So we headed up the road and drove into Harvest Inn. The view from the street is deceptive.  The gardens are awesome!  Like an garden estate. We were there mid-week, so it is probably far more crowded on the weekends, since this appears to be a wedding location - and I can see why.  There are newer rooms, but we stayed in one of the spacious older rooms.  The bed is comfortable, the bathrooms spacious.  It is spotless! The breakfast (include in the room price) was served from 7-11 in a pretty dining room where you can sit inside or on a view patio - the food was fresh  and ample. We were in a really beautiful room, but it was the last one they had and the handicapped room, so I am not sure we would have gotten that otherwise. I think this is the best place going. The room rates were about $250 per night for a king for two people - which is less than the dump at Silverado.  We also got a AAA discount - which is not bad for a walk-in reservation.  Nice high speed hookups for free, a half bottle of Merryvale Starmont Chardonnay at the bedside.  Room service in the late afternoon when you are out, so you don't have to deal with that.  Just a great spot. Oh, and they have a separate swimming pool only for adults! Yeah!
