Harvard Avenue (Green)
I went here when I wanted fried rice and an egg roll. This was a very bad decision on my part. Trust me, you are better off not eating.
Horrible. Bordering on inedible. It's not just that it is greasey-- which I can be down with. It's just poor quality and terrible recipes. Even the old standards seem to get messed up here-- undercooked batter covering stringy chicken fingers, for instance. Don't waste your money. I can't say it enough.
Allston Village has a growing Asian population who provide a market for quality Asian food; this is why places like Super 88 and many smaller restaurants have opened up in the last few years in this area, and it's how you can tell Harvard Chinese has been around for a long while- they wouldn't get off the ground if they tried to start again now. They sell bad, heavily-greased food without much variety; if you don't know the difference between good and bad Chinese food, you'll still find these guys awful.

it has a pretty cheap lunch special but the food was bad. however it is the only chinese takeout place i found on harvard avenue and that gives it the advantage.
