In January, I called and booked reservations for one night in May since we had a wedding to go to at the hotel. I figured everything was good to go. My boyfriend called to confirm the reservation about a week before the wedding...........and they couldn't find my reservation!!!! Of course, he took it out on me, and then called a few numbers and they realized they spelled my name wrong and that's why they couldn't find the reservation.
Ok...so we went to the wedding, had a good time, stayed over for the night and then checked out.
A month later, I get my credit card bill....they charged me twice!!! The funny thing is that they charged me on 2 different dates for 2 different amounts. I called the hotel on a Saturday and was told that the accounting department was only open during the week - I left a message and asked them to return my call to get it resolved. Monday morning comes, no call. I called again and left ANOTHER message...no call back. Finally, when I called the main line, I told them what the issue was and the man told me that he would have an assistant GM call me back within the hour.
A woman calls me back (the same woman on the answering machine in the accounting department) and she told me she got both of my messages but didn't get to call me back. No shit. So I told her the deal and she looked it up and said that the 2nd charge was a No Show fee....How can you charge me for staying a night AND for a no show fee?? Anyway, she said she would credit me the money back on my card and that was the end of it.
I won't stay here again unless I really have to because this was just an unnecessary hassle.

The restaurant located inside this hotel - River City Grill - was most impressive for a hotel restaurant - I would give the food and service four or five stars (and I ate dinner there two nights in a row.) But the problem is that I wanted to be able to walk somewhere else - especially the second night. Unfortunately, this hotel is not within walking distance of anything. Its clean and quiet, and they have a good exercise room, but I think I will try a hotel in downtown Hartford next time I travel to Connecticut.
