The guys from Medford, OR wouldn't recognize the empire that grown into a chain of stores and huge mail order business.

I find myself shopping here regularly for gifts though for volunteers, staff and sometimes for myself.  The food products are uniformly good, albeit pricey.  Once in a while you can find some good stuff on sale or buying enough, you'll get the "two fer" discount.

Their trademark is a tower of something - you name it which is impressive to receive.  I've also combined products and the staff has wrapped them together with clear cellophane and a ribbon for nice effect.

Highly recommended place if you want delicious snacks and very cute cookie jars. The moose munch is yummy. I always seize the opportunity to try food samples. Had some white malt balls today during my Black Friday shopping. The malt ball was okay.

Good customer service. If you shop at Harry and David often, I would recommend you to get a Preferred Card to accumulate a point for every dollar you spend. After a certain dollar amount, you receive gifts.

Have never actually been in this store, but order their fruit and cheesecakes online for my family and in-laws when I want to send a surprise gift. Their pears and apples are amazing.

Yummy goodies that come in pretty boxes and baskets!!!

I love the candies from here...and the dips!  The staff are always very courteous and happy to offer samples of anything you would like to taste before buying.

Be forwarned though -- their stuff is pretty fattening, that's why it's so delish!

Prices are steep, but customer service is excellent here. They sample anything you want. But, usually don't need to as they already have things on a platter for your sampling pleasure.

Great place to shop for gifts for people you don't know too well or are hard to shop for.

This place was never really on my radar until I started working at my current company. Every year, the president sends me a Christmas gift basket from H & D with the following goodies inside: chocolate covered bing cherries, fancy pears and apples, smoked salmon, fruit preserves, "Moose Crunch" (chocolate covered popcorn), and aged cheese.

Open a bottle of wine, dig into the basket, and you're good to go.

If you're wandering around Valley Fair and can't find that perfect gift for someone, stop by H & D. You're sure to find something that they'll like.

Parent/Teacher conferences give me heartburn.  You never know what is going to happen from one parent to the next, and I get seriously nervous sometimes.  I make mistakes, I admit it!  (Shh...don't tell my husband...)

One father had a sincerely BAD comb-over.  It was audibly bad.  You could almost hear the hair saying, "Help us!  Call Queer Eye!"

It wasn't that he was an unpleasant man, and I adored his sweetheart of a kid.  He was just a little...odd.  He had some strange mannerisms and funky way of expressing things...it was hard to communicate with him.  I felt like I was talking to a drive-thru box.

I was hypnotized by his head, though.  I couldn't stop looking at it.  The worst comb-over I'd ever laid eyes on, by far.

As we talked about his daughter, and how she may benefit from some extra support, I tried staring at his nose instead.  Soon, I had nearly forgotten about the hair issue. We had a great conversation about his daughter.  I briefly discussed some type of after school tutoring, and he was very receptive to that idea.

"Ok, then..."  I started wrapping up the session.  "I'll get to work on finding some suitable material for her to work on, and let's see what kind of extra help I can offer hair...HER!  I mean HER!  HER!"

For Christmas, I got a re-gifted Harry and David fruitcake from his kid...expiration date: 1999.

This is place is great for personal or client gifts!  Their hams are delicious, as they come with the wonderful honey glaze.  I am also a fan of the low-cal appetizers, Moose Munch, and unique seasonal items.

The best place to park is on the 2nd level of Nordstrom.  Walk through Nordstrom, take the escalator by Savvy down to the first level.  Walk straight out into the mall.  The Harry and David store is located across from Juicy and Tiffany & Co. - next to Williams-Sonoma.
