37 reviews for Harrahs Rincon Casino
Review Highlights
Enjoyed a weekend getaway here and came back refreshed, relaxed and re-energized. Spa treatment was out of this world and their showers and steam and dry saunas were nice. Afterwards, enjoyed a cocktail out by the pool area later to have dined at their Fiore Steakhouse. Fine food and I recommend their oyster bar. The oysters were plated on a color-changing, smoke-emitting plate and was quite a surprise. Service and quality, especially the filet mineon and fish were great.
Only thing, the gambling sucked...but hey, the house always wins right?

Fiore Steakhouse:
I've been here 3 times now. Each time celebrating my bf's parents anniversary and/or birthdays (the meal is comped thanks to my bf's mom spending A LOT of time at Harrah's). Honestly its a decent but not amazing place. I enjoy the Voss water and the friendly service. I think the best thing I have tried is the Mac n Cheese. Seriously, it is made with truffles and different cheeses that I can't even pronounce so its ridiculously rich. I've had good and bad steaks here. Last time the steak was really gristle and just gross. However, the creme brulee makes up for it . YUM!!!
The staff is always friendly and service is good. There is always an interesting crowd as you can probably imagine (it is Harrah's in rincon after all). And in my opinion, its a little too loud for a high end steakhouse but hey, the meals are free :-)
Quick & Dirty: By far one of the best Indian Casinos in SoCal. Kinda far but the drive there is gorgeous. All around a nice place to get away.
Long & Ca' Ching:
I've been going to this Harrah's for years now and seen it's many incarnations with it's current being good but leaving room to be better. It has turned into a pretty nice resort and spa even though I usually walk away poor. Bastards!
The hotel rooms here are some of the best you will find for any hotel. Big bathrooms with huge tubs, nice soft beds, tastefully decorated. I've stayed at other "Five Star" hotels and found that some of them don't even come close to Harrah's, go figure.
The Casino is big without being too big and small enough without being too small. No walking around for ages trying to find people. There are plenty of machines and table games throughout and you're never too far from a bar!
The Spa is nice but could be nicer. The services are on par with other nicer spas but what The Spa at Harrah's is lacking is a private whirlpool and an outdoor area. If you want to use the spa you have to go out by the regular pool! No bueno! I want my own spa that I don't have to share with other non-spa using hotel guests!
The pools are nice and big. There is a larger pool that is deeper and then there is a smaller warmer pool with a waterfall which seems geared more to kids and family's. Both were recently switched to salt-water and have pebble-tech bottoms.
Spa's and cabana's surround the pools and there is a larger cabana with table games in it. There is also a big outdoor bar with a fire pit. At night time on the weekends the pool area turns into a Nightclub. No kids are allowed at the pool past 7PM.
I'd give Harrah's 5 stars if I would've won at least a little bit this past weekend but I didn't so those effen bastards only get 4! Eat it Harrah's! I'll see you again soon.
Sam
P.S. Use your rewards card, good perks!

This was the first California Indian Casino i went to and it was fun, not only did it feel like i was in Vegas but the atmosphere was definitely a Vegas atmosphere. One good thing if you have a players card from Vegas or any other Harrah's Casino it would work . The buffet was ok typical buffet , the cafe was ok sometimes it takes forever to get seated even if it is not that busy. Haven't stayed at the hotel as of yet. Parking is not bad you got a few areas to choose from. Can get packed with the bus loads of people. I rarely come here now since they don't send me any coupons like they used to so i took one star away lol. overall another alternative to get your Vegas gambling fix.

I went to Harrah's Rincon for the AVP (http://AVP.com) event. The AVP tournament was a lot of fun!
The venue is great! I had fun in the casino, even thought I lost a few dollars.
I liked the Corner Grill Cafe and ate a really tasty pastrami sandwich.
There was this other restaurant that was HORRIBLE! My friend and I had to wait 10 minutes to be seat. The customer service was TERRIBLE 'cuz we had to wait almost an hour to get my food. There was an order mix up. I think they should've comped our meal. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone.
I give my overall experience a C at best.

After a dusty weekend spent at the La Jolla Indian Reservation, we decided that there was no better way to ease our tequila/yellow tail induced hangovers than with hot breakfast and gambling.
We parked in the parking lot and dragged our less than presentable selves through the East entrance. Immediately we spotted the sign for the buffet but as we approached, we were less than thrilled when we realized one plate would run you about seventeen bucks. Granted you get two glasses of bubbly but after chasing away hangovers with hair of the dog three days straight we weren't in a very boozey mood.
We dragged our stinky selves to the San Luis Rey Cafe where the food was delicious yet the service was abysmal. Breakfast plates run you just under 10 bucks. The highlight was probably the potatoes, deep fried and covered with buttery sauteed bell peppers and onions. However, it took about 30 minutes to get our food and about 35 minutes to get our drinks, including agua. Needless to say, we were not happy.
After paying for breakfast we meandered over to the slot machine area to indulge in some nicotine. We spent about 25 minutes here, losing at least 20 bucks each. Although the casino setup is very nice, it is a bit depressing to see all the elderly sleep deprived people mindlessly betting and losing.
Supposedly they have reggae, poolside on Sundays. ("Yeah Mon!" the billboard proclaims as you approach the casino.) We weren't feeling it on this particular Sunday but it might be worth checking out if your in the area.
We got out of there pretty quick and headed home sweet home and into the much needed hot shower.

I can not count the times we have stayed here. I know people complain about the drive, but it is so much closer than Vegas or Laughlin. The Mr. likes to get his gamble on every now and then, so we make it a mini vacay for the weekend.
They have a really great pool area with music on the weekends. The spa is nice too. I have never used the gym there but it looks nice. Last December I threw my husband a surprise birthday party catered here in a huge suite, he was thrilled and all the friends who chose to drink just got a room there.
We loove Fiore's the food is always top notch. Josh is an excellent waiter. Everything we have tried there has been delish!
I would have given them 5 stars except last night was music at the pool night and our room was on that side of the building. The crowd there is people in their 20's (we are in our 40's-we belonged with the old people at the inside dansing)
We were on the 14th floor and the music was SO LOUD we could not get to sleep until the party was over. OMG!! It was NUTS! We went to bed at midnight but sleep was not an option and the bed we had was THE worst and the pillow was like it was full of beans. I guess if this weekend was my first time there, I am not sure I would be excited to go back. Next time we'll know ask for the other side of the hotel. Some of the first floor rooms in the garden bldg have their own private patios attached to the pool area, a few have their own private jacuzzis on the patios.
"Mom where in the hell are you taking us?!" is what i thought this past sunday as we drove this winding road. I THOUGHT i was dropping her off in another part of san diego before i went to visit my friend but i was surely mistaken. Now im down with my Native Americans but i wasnt aware we'd be staying on a reservation in no man's land. Can someone tell me how we traveled DOWN to san diego and yet we ended UP, i mean high up, into some mountains....?! That road is seriously not safe to drive at night, which clearly i HAD to do because i left to go visit my friend. It has absolutely no lights and at some parts, there is no guardrail....
Anyway, i only got to experience the room of the hotel. The suite looked really nice. It had a nice living room with a pull out couch and then a nice size bedroom. The bathroom was HUGE. The shower had a bench in it and the tub looked like it could fit about four people. The bedroom and bathroom had a door that led to the balcony and that was also a nice size. There was a table sitting out there and two reclining patio chairs.
We got room service the next day because it was my birthday :) and the food was pretty decent. Not the best but good enough. The reason why this hotel only got 2 stars instead of 3-4 is because it smelled HORRIBLE! i mean so horrible that the funk woke you up in your sleep! My cousin referred to it as, "you know when you watch those cartoons and the green stink lines come from under the door and the character passes out? yea that!" Although the tiolet had a seperate little room, the entire bathroom AND bedroom smelled of hot moldy ass and sick vomit. It was seriously not something you could ignore. My mom said that it didnt smell that way when you she first got to the room, but regardless it stayed that way throughout the night into the next morning as we left. My mom said she called the front desk to complain and they explained that this has been a problem with a few of the rooms that they are trying to fix and if we wanted to move. Apparently my mom didnt because clearly we stayed [[she got to sleep in the living room, free from the smell!]]
My cousin and I really shouldve grabbed our blanket and pillows and slept on the balcony. I mightve been cold but that is a problem i couldve fixed and i wouldve gotten ALOT more sleep..... I told my mom, i dont care if they do send you another complimentary room, im not coming with!

I have been here so many times that I am sort of numb to it that I am not even sure how to begin to write the review. I'll break it down in the following categories:
Hotel - 4 stars.
There is Spa Tower and Garden Tower. The Spa tower used to be better until they renovated the Garden Tower which now has Plasma TV and more modern decor.
Spa - 2 stars.
Not much to it. Had the massages twice, didn't care for it.
Casino - 3 stars.
There are a good variety of slots, but only a few of each so if there is a particular slot you like, it can be difficult to get on. You'll like it if you win and hate it if you lose. I have a love/hate relationship with this casino, if you know what I mean.
Table games - 2 stars.
I only play black jack and don' t like the fact that they only have multi-deck (6) or single deck. I wish they would have 2-decker's.
Poker Room - 4 stars.
They have daily Poker Tournaments. Most are only $25 buy in with $10 rebuy. What can I say, I like poker tournaments.
Dinning - 2 stars.
San Luis Rey cafe is probably the best bet and open 24 hours. Recently the portion has shrunk by 50%. WTH?! Buffet is a hit and miss. Don't bother with Fiore, it's not worth the money. Fortune is unfortunate, despite their effort to revamp, it still sucks. Corner Grill is 'fast food', so if you just want to grab something fast.
Diamond Lounge - 0 star.
Like all of Harrah's Diamond Lounge, it's down scaled to pretty much just a place to take a break (if you don't want to walk all the way back to your room) and watch TV and get something to drink. That's right, there is nothing much to eat here except popcorn. During 4:00pm - 6:00pm they will serve a LITTLE hot appetizer and veggie dip. Note the word LITTLE!
Invitational Tournament: 1 star
I am glad I got invited but by far they host the most disorganized tournaments among all casinos. And I've played the tournaments a few times by now. Prizes are also the smallest - first prize usually $3,000.00. I have yet to win.
Customer Services - 3 stars.
Haven't had any problem. They have a self-serve soda fountain, so you can get your own drink without having to wait for the cocktail waitresses. This I like.

Who comes out to Harrah's Rincon? Apparently bus loads of people from foreign lands... or desprate gamblers from nearby cities... and even misguided tourists just looking for a nice getaway. The hotel is in the middle of an Indian Reservation in the middle of nowhere about an hour away from San Diego.
Anyway, I came here for work and was actually pleasantly surprised. The rooms reminded me of the W Hotel.... cleanly decorated with fluffy comforters. Unfortunately the bed was not nearly as comfortable as a W bed and they didn't have any HD channels for their flat screen TVs so everything looked... fuzzy. The gym was clean and offered all the basic machines and the pool area is quite nice, too.
I also loved the coffee shop because the patreies were great, the waitstaff was friendly and they had soft serve ice-cream. Yum. Oh, and the 24-hour cafe serves really good Chinese noodle soups. I don't gamble so I can't say anthing about the casino but overall it was a pleasant stay.

This is a review for the Eclipse Poolside Experience concert venue....I was really pleasantly surprised!
When I learned that Paul Oakenfold was coning to Valley Center, I was a bit hesitant. I was more hesitant when I learned the venu had no heaters and there was no dress code at the Casino.
When we arrived, there we heat lamps everywhere, several bars, and a stage set up alongside a beautifully landscaped pool with lights palm trees, cabanas and cozy chaises. Gogo dancers took turns on the podiums. It really looked like a small, yet upscale Vegas casino pool area. The crowd at the pool area was young and stylish. It was easy to park and find the venue so we hung out and had drinks while waiting for an amazing show. My only issue was the terrible-tasting margarita mix that really ruined some great tequila. It did get pretty cold at the end of the night...but otherwise it was great.
I would definitely return for another concert.
Currently too young to gamble, but I've been here countless times with the bf. Rooms are pretty and chic, staff is nice. I hate the smoking environment though, it drives me crazy!! Unfortunately they closed the restaurant close to the pool. My mom loved their alfredo. I've been to Fiore, the buffet, and the asian restaurant. Good places. Not bad of a drive from home and to downtown. I love the free soda fountain hehe.
So far, my fave part about this place is swimming in the heated pool area in the morning. Great pool!

This casino is pretty cool in that they have quite a number of slots and you can find lower denomination slots pretty easily. They also have a free soda fountain with Pepsi products. However, I think that this place would be better if they had a food court type area. I got a surprisingly good tasting cream puff at Club Cappuccino though. Overall, the casino is okay but I prefer the ambiance and clientele at places such as Barona and Pala better.
Their player's club frequently sends vouchers for free slot play, free hotel nights and free food. Self serve soda fountains are a plus at this casino. A bit smoky at times, but not too bad. Friendly workers and a pretty good selection of slot machines.
Oh Harrahs, you bunch of blow hards. Do you think that I've never been to a casino before? Do you think I've never been to Harrah's before? I know how I'm supposed to be treated, darlings! Last year, I got sent an awesome book of offers. "Earned in Atlantic City, Redeemed in San Diego" it said on the front. 2 night stay, $50 for food, $50 for the spa. I made my reservations which ended up being in the middle of the 2007 fires. The hotel was closed. My offers expired before it reopened. They honored...nothing. And they never send me a damn thing again. I wrote to Rincon about it and got the most unintentionally hilarious explanation letter I have ever seen back. Come on, Harrahs! Grammar people! Grammar!
Let's compare:
Harrahs Atlantic City or Las Vegas: Free drinks and buffet set up in the diamond club.
Rincon: Popcorn and CostCo chicken wings in the diamond club with a huge sign at the exit warning people not to take their popcorn out of the diamond club. Diamond Club patrons line up and take a minimum of 25 chicken wings each. Drinks are $7 each. I guess they're real stingy on the food comps
Harrahs Atlantic City or Las Vegas: Atlantic City expressway or I-15.
Rincon: Windy dangerous mountain road. My boss (an F-18 pilot) told me it was high up and scary.
Harrahs Atlantic City or Las Vegas: Valet Parking, bell service.
Rincon: Park your own car. You have a rolling suitcase, don't you? It's not that far!
Harrahs Atlantic City or Las Vegas: Gaming up and down
Rincon: Lose it all. Fast.
Harrahs Atlantic City or Las Vegas: Seemingly infinite selection of restaurants, whatever your heart desires.
Rincon: bad "surf themed" cafe, bad buffet, noodle house with snippy servers.
If you have a free room, stay at harrahs, but gamble, eat, and drink at Valley View.

The only reason I came here of all places to spend a long weekend, was because a friend of mine was comped a room for two nights, along with about $300 in room credit. Otherwise, seriously? Rincon, CA?? I mean, I'm proud we grant sovereignty to tribes, but dude...there's nada here.
I knew driving there, that it was in kinda a deserted area, but then the dark, windy roads became more and more desolate and then eureka!, we made it!
Okay, so the hotel itself is okay--nice lobby, decent rooms, big enough bathrooms, mini-fridges, etc., but the casino and restaurants BLOW! Luckily, we came equipped with liquor bottles, mixers, beer, cups, straws, etc so our party wasn't lacking ever. We were able to get ice down the hall, and we began the pre-gambling drinking in the room while we got ready to head down. The annoying part about coming and going to the casino and back to your room, is that you need an elevator key to get to your floor. It was a little frustrating wanting to go back upstairs to grab another drink when the room towers were so far away also.
I like to gamble but i'm no hustler. I usually play blackjack, or video poker, and when I'm feeling brave and a little lucky (and if someone will sit with me), I'll sign up for the 2/4 Hold 'Em tables. I was a little bummed that all I found were two blackjack tables, and they weren't straight up blackjack--they had a different twist to them, and I didn't feel like sitting there and trying to figure out the game first before I started having fun. The Hold 'Em tables were empty, and I wasn't about to go sit at the one table with two older gentlemen so, I hit the dumb slots. I'm not a fan of slots, but a couple of times I've gotten lucky. I slid a $20 into the Pink Panther slot and immediately hit a bonus round, which was actually kind of fun. From there, I got this: http://static.px.yelp..... Yep, I cashed out and went to the bar. I needed a drink and the cocktail girls seemed to be coming around scarcely, and I did not want to wait. The bars here all pretty much suck, as in there's no ambience. Music is bad, and service worse. The female bartender at the bar that I headed to was having a bad day, I'm sure. No smile. No hello. No welcome. Instead, she sighed as she walked over to me, threw me a bar napkin and asked what I wanted. I got a very watered down Greyhound. My friend met up with me finally and we ordered more drinks, each one of them sadly watered down. Why we stayed, who knows, but we got into good conversation, played some video poker (http://static.px.yelp....) and many drinks and two Scooby Snack shots later, we were laughing and happy. It took about that much to make the night fun. We were probably the only 30-somethings in the whole casino. I don't think anyone our age or younger thinks to come here and spend a 3-day weekend. *shrugs*
The next day I decided to head to the pool since the weather was perfect for laying out in the sun and recovering from the night before. You can't beat a sunny January day in Southern California. I had to take advantage, and I did:http://static.px.yelp..... I feel okay giving Harrah's two stars for their nice pool, but that's about it.
They boast a huge "Sports Pit" with 50 plasma tv's on their website, and we thought it would be a perfect spot to catch the AFC Championship (Good job, Steelers!!), but the Sports Pit and the bar lacked some serious life and pizzazz. Needless to say, it was enough for us to forego a good part of the game just to get back on the road and come home to watch the last quarter in the comfort of my home.
I have to say, even if we were offered some more comps at Harrah's, I'd seriously have to consider coming back.

Having been to Atlantic City a few times, I kinda feel like all casinos look the same. They all have the tables, and the same loud beeping, clanging machines.
Driving out to Harrah's was an experience in itself. The Valley Parkway or whatever it's called, twists and turns through...Escondido?...and changes names a couple times before narrowing out into this road that winds about and goes up up up the hills and away away...far away. So far that we passed a farm that sold llamas. REALLY. We passed some other casino and Eric said, "THAT'S a casino? It looks like a YMCA!"
Luckily, Harrah's looks more like what one expects from a casino - towering hotel, big signs, shiny lights, and of course, the blinking, beeping game machines.
Harrah's is my first west-coast casino experience. And it was fun, until it wasn't anymore. I don't know how to play any of the big games (poker, craps, etc.), so I was stuck with all the machines. They lose their allure pretty quicky. Besides, when I spend money (that I'm not going to get back, because I am not that lucky!), I'd rather have something to SHOW for it. Hence, gambling just not really being my thing.
By the way: I spent $15 and lost $13.92 of it. Good thing I won my catagory in the karaoke finals and won $200.
As a smoker, I felt so...weird smoking indoors. I haven't been able to do that in a "public" place in a LONG time. I didn't notice it being overly smoky inside, but I've been in some REALLY smoky bars in my day.
It made me sad to see all the folks in motorized carts and oxygen tanks. Seriously, SO many of them. It was pretty depressing.
I would have liked to have spent the night before the contest in one of the rooms, but when I went their website, their cheapest one was over $200/night! HAHA, NO.
I sang in the Pavillion and ate at the Buffet (separate reviews). All around decent experience. I wouldn't go back on a regular basis, but that's pretty much my attitude about most casinos.
PS - little to no cell phone reception, so it's difficult to call or text if you're meeting up with people (or want to brag about your big winnings!)
It's all the way out there. But not that bad a drive. First of all, when you play at a Harrahs casino, get a club card. And if you play enough, you can get rooms comped.
So that's good. Other than that the casino had a good variety of games of all denominations. They for some reason have way too many Blazing Sevens machines. And there doesn't seem to be a lot of video poker machines, just one area with unfamiliar games. And the card game tables seem to be a little low. Lastly, a lot of machines here were out of order. Not good, but I got a room there comped. So, it's all good.
The selection of food there is good with a nice looking buffet to a nicer steakhouse. But my choice is the small deli there, with of course the Philly cheesesteak with fries. good deal for ten dollars.
A smallish casino that fits the bill. The rooms here are pretty spacious with nice furnishings. But who stays in there rooms anyways. There girls that work at the pool area are cute and they have special nights where there's Reggae and Karaoke.
Last, this is one place where they had a male cocktail waiter. And yes, he wore pants. Damn equal rights.
I used to like this place better than Pala but this place sucks also
Pros
-has a poker room (pala doesnt )
- Bar area is nice
- younger crowd on weekends
-Cafe food is good
- Rooms are nice (alot better than pala)
Cons
- Dont see many people winning ( my family refuses to gamble here )
- Promotions program sucks ( after losing alot of money they send me $ 5 dollar coupons ?? it costs me $10 dollars in gas to get out there .
-Buffet sucks
My advice is to save your money and go to Las Vegas instead of going to these Indian Casino Places .

I can't believe I've never been down to this area before. SOOOOOOO beautiful!!!!! So quick from LA, gorgeous and such a blast. The casino / hotel is gorgeous. We stayed in the Spa tower two bay suite( Mon after Valentines rates were inexpensive) Killer room!!!!! Can't wait to go back. Want to go in the summer and enjoy the awesome pool. Especially liked Fat Ivor's Rib Rack( Mon / Tues some of the casinos restaurants are closed) down the street. Great food!
I received $10 slot play for joining their club, but immediately lost that---and $250--within an hour or so. Many, many slots, not enough video poker, and...$4.50 for a friggin drink? At least the people there were nice, somewhat.
Please go to Vegas instead.
I went to the 2009 WSOP Circuit Event, and my friend James came up BIG! So he treated me to "anything on the menu" @ Fiore's inside Harrah's Rincon. We received recommendations from other players that the Filet Mignon was absolutely succulent! James ordered the Filet and I debated over the Ribeye and Porterhouse (my favorite cut). I decided to go with the Ribeye by the endorsement of the waiter. James ordered the Filet Medium-Rare while I ordered the Ribeye Medium (the only way a steak should be cooked!). The Filet and the Ribeye were both very juicy and tender....like a hot knife through butter! I'm not one to ruin the taste of a great steak with sauces and/or crazy seasonings....and Fiore's steaks were perfectly aged and seasoned! Definitely on my top 5 steakhouses....
I came out here for the World Series of Poker Circuit in January 2008 (and made a final table while there). The rooms are really nice, but they're so overpriced. I think I paid around $100/night, and that was a special weekday rate for the WSOP. Usually it's more like $199/night, or even more! Frankly, after living in Vegas, I'm just not impressed with anything going on here. The casino is nice, they have some OK restaurants, but eh, I'd rather be in Vegas.
The buffet's a joke for this caliber of hotel/casino, and room service is overpriced as well, of course. I found my best dining option to be the deli right by the poker room, as that was the only place I could manage to eat for under $10.
This review is for Harrah's "Open Air Theater"
Ok, so the lady & i went up here last night to see the BLACK CROWES. Now the Black Crowes did it right as always, but my experience with the Open Air Theater was pretty lackluster.
Got there with about a 1/2 hour to spare before the concert started. Asked the cats there, where to get some food, casino or at concert. They advised i get something inside the concert. Ok...i like advice, especially when i am doing something fun...as stated in my other reviews, i don't like using my brain if i don't have to.
So we roll into the theater. Now this is my biggest gripe. THIS WAS NOT A OPEN AIR THEATER. This was a PARKING LOT with CHAIRS. I am not exaggerating AT ALL. For real. Concrete with chairs & some bleacher seating, with a fence around the whole ordeal. Open Air Theater?????? i think not...When i think open air theater, i think..grass, concrete stage, amphitheater kinda style....something with some character...Not here at Harrahs...no effin character at all.like i said...I assume that Harrahs feels that:
1 big mountain + a parking lot + lawn chairs + a bit of fencing = Open Air Theater.
Anyway..got a burger in there that tasted like plastic for $9...yummmmmmy....My lady was gracious enough to go get beers during the concert...She's a good woman...For real it took her 25 mins, beers were actually a good price though--$6 per beer (could have been worse)
Overall, not a terrible place to see a concert, but make sure you go there expecting a parking lot with lawn chairs.... ala nascar style.
Slightly better than the PALA casino, but indian reservations are just retarded PERIOD. If you want to gamble, Vegas is the way to go. The only redeeming factor about this place was they had better slots than PALA, the dealers are friendly here, and 12 pays triple on the craps table, (not like other harrahs properties in vegas) My friend got a massage here, and he said the spa facilities are dated, and it was average.
Well, I wouldnt go back.

I went with a friend twice to this hotel, who happeneds to be a diamond guest player. On top of that, he's consider like a VIP because he practically know's everyone that works there.
But even if he didn't I would still give this place 5 stars.
The service is amazingly friendly, clean, and they always jump to service.
Spa at the Rincon, OMG... it is amazing. I nearly fell asleep.
I ate at Fiore's steakhouse, and our server has always been Catherine. She is amazing. She makes you feel as if your family. But all the employee's are just like that. Even when I went 1 month apart, all the employees still remembered me and were very wonderful.
The reason I gave this place a 4 stars is because I just cannot stand the smoking. Everywhere I go, I smell cigarettes. Workout room, casino, restaurants...everywhere

This is one of the "local" Indian Casinos at which I can say I tend to win more than I lose. And when I do lose, I have at least had a good amount of play time. San Manuel, much closer, sucks. While I believe that the 1 hour 20 minute drive from RC is worth the time.
Also, recently (02/08) stayed at the hotel. We got a fabulous suite thanks to Crystal in the Diamond / 7 Stars check in. Rincon is a Harrah's Casino, so points gained there can be used at any of the Las Vegas Harrah's properties. But the drive to Rincon is much less than the drive to Vegas.
My friend likes the variety of machines, especially the 1c and 2c machines. I like the fact that they STILL (02/08) have nickel video poker machines considering the fact that most of the Indian casinos have moved up to exclusively 25c+ video poker.
My best friend and I decided to go here after a college football game, and I kinda regret it. This isn't your ordinary Harrah's. Located somewhere in the boonies of San Diego, this secluded casino is scary to drive through. You drive through unlit back roads that lead you to ghost towns. Luckily, I was with my best friend through this scary ordeal. The only thing on our minds was survival. Who knew what may have happened? Some random zombie might have broken into our window and eaten us alive. Not even Mapquest or a GPS system will guide you smoothly to this place.
As for the casino, it was mediocre at best. It didn't give off a Harrah's feel. In fact, I felt that I was more in an Indian Reservation than a lively casino. The casino floor wasn't packed at all, which may be good for those who dislikes crowds. There were a couple food outlets to choose from, and we ate at some cafe (I forgot the name), since it was the only one open at midnight. The food was OK. The only gambling I did was blackjack on the game king machines.
To sum up my experience at Harrah's in one word - regret. We basically went to Harrah's Rincon to eat. We drove about an hour just to eat at their unforgiving cafe. Blah. Maybe, I should have taken the advice to go to Viejas from the Concierge.

I had a blast last time I was here. The spa was amazing! Had a great message, spent some time in the steam room, got cleaned up, then went out and played some single deck black jack.
The buffett here was about $30 per person, but was it worth it! It was hands down the best casino buffett I've had anywhere. The steak was good, the shrimp hot and tasty. The crab never ran out! Even my super picky fiancee, who picks at most buffetts like a vulture trying to pick at a starved rabbit, said this was the first buffett she got her money's worth!
After a monsterous dinner, we sat down and took the casino for another $600 and left.
Casino was very clean and Nevada style rules in California! Too bad its so damn far from everything.
The open sky theater where we saw ZZ top last night was a great venue. The casino itself is very clean and has a ton of machines. The little lounges around have some cool bands and not too expensive drinks. I am mainly writing this review because, a very drunk young guy on a motorcycle came out of the front entrance of the casino and, going about 5mph, hit the curb and went down. We ran over to help him. A security guard on a phone came over as well. He was talking to someone so we assumed he was calling for help because the guy obviously should not have gotten back on the bike. No.. he was talking to another security guard about another unrelated incident. The security guy asked the obviously f'd up guy if he could drive. He mumbled "yeah". The bike was dented, i gathered up pieces of the lights, the bike was making strange noises, and some liquid (gas or oil) was all over the ground. We offered the guy a ride because he said he was going to san diego. He declined of course. The security guard, still talking to someone else, wandered away while the guy drove away very wobbly. We looked for him on our ride home but thankfully didn't see an accident. The security guard should have called backup .. The guy took off while we were thinking the security guards was getting help. Boo to harrah's security.
***** and their response????
"i emailed harrah's with my yelp review and this is what they said, "Just so you know, that was the same individual that went up on the stage during the concert that the body guard had to remove. When the security officer ask the individual if they could drive and he said that he could. it is out of our hands. From the description of the location of the incident it would be off our property. The CHP has jurisdiction in that area. If the individual you have said that he could not drive or he was hurt we would have called an EMT to the incident and if necessary we would have activated 911. We do not take the Safety and Welfare of our guest lightly. Thank you for your concern."
I'm going to email them and say well I do believe the entrance to the fucking hotel is Harrah's property .... unbelievable. Don't they know that most drunks say they can drive, walk, talk, etc .....? idiots

my overall stay was a good time...i think the reason why it was a good time was because of the people i was with...dont come here if its only you...its in the middle of nowhere...
the rooms are your average room...nothing really jumped out...the pool is nice for where its at...and the customer service was ok (at best)...i think what saved the weekend was the REGGAE SUNDAY by the pool...
oh and if you come here to drink...get ready to not only tip the the waitress but to also pay for it...oh and they have a great rule there (sarcastic tone) which is 1 drink per person every 20 minutes...yeah! BYOB to the max is what i say...
overall an OK experience, but i would go back out again for the reggae if they had it...

It's aiiight. This was my first non-Vegas California Indian Casino experience, so I didn't quite know what to expect. The room in the Spa Tower was ok. Pretty standard with a good amount of space. The walls are as thin as paper though. After a pretty tough week, I had an old lady night after losing $200 in about 30 mins. I decided to call it an early night and head to the room around 11.30pm. The outside band was still playing and dang was it LOUD (even being 11 floors up). I could hear conversations in the next room and all of the conversations out in the hall.
The food is not quite terrible, but leaves much to be desired. The San Luis Rey Cafe service SUCKED! 1 hr to get our food for breakfast. Weak-ass coffee and we had to ask for toast even though the menu said that it came with our meal. The buffet was pretty lame too. All the good stuff was pretty low quality and some other things looked like they were leftovers from the other restaurants. Fortune, the chinese place next door, was only slightly better. The service was SO SLOW. They are horribly understaffed and pay way too much attention to they take out orders so they don't have time to clear empty tables and take orders from the sit down folks. The food is ok though. The noodle soups are basic, but consistent in quality.
The gaming is great (except for craps). The dealers were, for the most part, very nice (especially in the Sports Pit) and the pit bosses are friendly too.
Long drive up a winding mountain. The casino is in the middle of no where, but is pretty nice inside. Lost $100 here so I'm not too stoked with this casino. Not too overwhelmed with smokers.
I'm not a big gambler, but this casino is a joke. My fam decided to try one of those buses that take you to and from this casino. They gave me $45 playing credit which was good and there's this free soda fountain, but other than those 2 things everything else sucked. I guess i'm bitter cos I lost some money. They had a non-smoking slot section which didn't make sense since it was surrounded by smoking sections. Their little cafe was a joke. They only seat diamond members first which means your waiting forever since it seemed like there were always diamond members. Their food was ok, nothing to rave about. I guess its my fault thinking it would sort of be like vegas and have vegas type service. If you've been to vegas before this wouldn't be the casino for you. Its more of a place you would take your grandparents to for a day to play the penny slots. I would never come here again. I rather pay more and go to vegas.
Since this place is run by Harrah's its AS close to vegas as you can get without actually being there. The casino is big, bright, and clean. But the location is very tough to get to. Even with a navigation system in your car this place may be a bit hard to find. For all the hassle and its inaccessibility it might be worth it go to Vegas instead.
we stayed at the harrahs rincon casino en route to wild animal park. i really liked our room, it was nicely decorated and spacious. the casino on the other hand, was bleh and the food was not that great but we got a good deal on our room so no complaints here!
Fiore Steak House. Friends asked us to meet them at Fiore Steak House at Harrahs Rincon. I knew we were in trouble when we walked in and there was only one table occupied. The smell of smoke from the gaming floor was the second alarm. We were shown to a booth and given menus. I knew I was in trouble for the third time when I saw that they said they served "100% Angus Beef" not 100% PRIME Angus beef, but the prices were what you would expect for Prime beef. We ordered. The Calamari was ok. Each of my dining companions had a salad. The Caesar was terrible, the worst they had ever eaten, the head of iceberg was drenched in blue cheese (not Roquefort) with three tasteless yellow tomato slices, the other was a standard green salad and it had two tomatoes in it! I had Lobster Bisque. The flavor was good, the consistency was good , but it had one small piece of lobster in it about the size of my thumb nail. On to the main course. Steaks and one 12 oz prime rib. The New Yorks ($38 ea) were cooked correctly, but they came cold and dry a sure sign that they were Select grade meat same as the 12 oz prime rib ($28). The side dishes were cold too. Imagine spending $8-15 for a "family" size side dish of shoe string fries, spinach etc. and it is about the size of a single portion not family size. Well enough was enough. No dessert, No Coffee. It cost us $125 per couple plus tip. If you want to get ripped off stay at the gaming tables or slots at least you might win something there, but avoid Fiore because it is a clip joint disguised as a restaurant. Better food at more reasonable prices can be found at Bully's in Mission Valley or the buffet at the nearby Valley View casino.
