From the moment my now Fiancee and myself walked inside Harold Stevens Jewelers we felt welcomed and comfortable. We were warmly greeted by Laurel, whom initially assisted us with our engagement ring ideas. We knew the design that we were interested in would have to be custom made. Laurel asked what "WE" wanted, which was a pleasant surprise compared to several other jewelry stores that we had visited before going to Harold Stevens. The other places suggested what they thought would be appropriate for us from the merchandise they had in their showroom. This left us leaving the other jewelry stores with an awkward and uncomfortable feeling. Laurel listened to our ideas about the dream engagement that we imagined.
Ryan began working with me in the process of the design of creating the custom ring. Every step of the way he was professional and straight forward. I had a lot of questions, and he answered every single one of them without hesitation. Ring searching can be very stressful. I did not feel this way at Harold Stevens. The experience was exciting, fun and memorable. The ring turned out to be absolutely perfect, beautiful, breathtaking, and awesome! It is an absolute work of perfection and my Fiancee cannot stop looking at her marvelous and one-of-a-kind engagement ring!
I highly recommend Harold Stevens Jewelers to anyone who is looking for these characteristics in a Jewelry Store.

I was recently engaged and was very particular about buying an engagement ring. I visited a lot of stores around town and didn't find anything that I was drawn to or anyone that I really trusted to help educate me on my big decision. Then I met Yolanda. Don't worry this won't turn into a love story...
Yolanda showed me their different products and I explained what I really was hoping to find. She recommended we design a ring and because of the high level of hand engraving we have Danhov make it. I was impressed that she didn't attempt to keep the business "in house" which probably would have made the company more money but instead she recommended the designer who would create the best product for me. After countless trips and a few sleepless nights I purchased a beautiful stone, we ordered the ring and it is now on my beautiful Fiancés hand.
All in all, I would highly recommend Harold Stevens and honestly can say I enjoy going in and seeing everyone there. -

My fiance apparently went to several jewelers before stumbling upon Harold Stevens Jewelers in Downtown San Diego. He was more than pleased with the service that they provide him and felt that they answered any and all of his questions (and apparently he had quite a few). They helped him find the quality and simplicity that he was looking for in the engagement ring that he finally decided on and he was able to hand pick the diamond, which made him even more happy and thrilled with Harold Stevens.
I went back after he had asked me and found their service to be just as amazing. I needed my ring re-sized slightly and they reassured me that the ring would return to me as soon as possible since I was not to happy to be parting with my beautiful engagement ring. They also then assisted me in trying on potential wedding bands and also looking through wedding bands for my fiance. They were extremely helpful and courteous.
On my return to pick up my ring, Yolanda (who assisted my fiance) was there and was so excited to meet me finally after all that had been discussed in their previous meetings. I recommend this jeweler to both the novice and experienced jewelry shopper and we plan on using them for our wedding bands and any future jewelry purchases.

I flew 3,000 miles to come to this jeweler. Ok, maybe not JUST to come to this jeweler, but it's definitely part of my rounds when I come to SD.
Back in the day, when The Hus was The Beau, one day he decided he wanted to marry me. The next day, he went to Harold Steven's Jewelers where the incredibly kind, informative staff taught him what he needed to know about diamonds, settings, and what have you so that he could select the perfect ring for Yours Truly. That he did, and it was over 6 years ago.
In those six years, we've moved to the east coast, and I still have yet to get my ring cleaned, serviced, or even looked at elsewhere. They do such a tremendous job at Harold Steven's that I won't go anywhere else. They've done everything from securing stones to cleaning and buffing and no matter how much I've destroyed my rings, they always make them look like new.
They had a fabulous selection of all sorts of sparklies, so if you're in the market this is the place to come. Their no-fuss approach is genuine and I always leave happy. -

My gemstone watchband needed repairing (again), and I took it back to Harold Stevens Jewelers. They're the only place that can repair it and make it look like new. I cant take it just anywhere, because the gemstones would melt. They covered up the gemstones and did the repairs (both times) with a laser.
So, after three months of not wearing my watch, I have it back in one piece again. Hopefully, it won't break again, but if it does, back to Harold Stevens it'll go. -

I found this jewelry store on Yelp, as I had been wanting to buy an engraved dog tag necklace for my fiance's birthday, and I had no idea where to buy men's jewelry. It was conveniently located a short walk away from my office downtown, and also has a website where I could get an idea what I'd be looking at. It is located in a bank building, but easy to find. I really liked the service there. Ryan helped me out, and showed me a couple different necklaces. He also tried it on to show me how it would look, and so I could make sure the chain was the proper length. He also helped me decide how the engraving should look. Anyway, the service was prompt, and I got a call a few days later letting me know the necklace was ready. Anyway, I love it, and my fiance wears it everyday! Besides being a high-end jewelry store, they have a lot of artsy pieces from around the world. I saw several displays with unique jewelry that seems like it would make great gifts, and several pieces were around $50 or so. I haven't been back since then, but will definitely return when I'm shopping for some fun jewelry.

I went into Harold Stevens to buy an engagement ring and the experience was superb. I was promptly helped by Yolanda who helped me find exactly what I wanted in my budget. After visiting over five local San Diego jewelers and having a poor experience at all of them, my experience at Harold Stevens was refreshing.
On my first visit to Harold Stevens, I talked with Yolanda about exactly what I wanted and she ordered many diamonds in my budget for me to look at. She also taught me a lot about diamonds and what to look for when purchasing them. On my second visit she showed me the diamonds that came in and I was able to choose the one that I liked, pick out a setting, and have it ready to be picked up two days later.
My Fiance loves the ring. I couldn't have hoped for anything better. -

I bought my wife an engagement ring here years ago. The whole experience was great, and Harold is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The reason is that not only did he sell me a gorgeous stone at a fair price, he taught me how to really look at stones. By the time I purchased, he had said I had a good eye for stones, and I was able to call out small differences in size, cut, clarity that could be confirmed by the GIA breakdown. There are no tricks here, it is classy and not your in and out jewelry or wedding ring type of place.

My husband bought my engagement ring at Harold Stevens, and then we went back to purchase our wedding bands when the time came. We actually went in together to pick out the perfect engagement ring. After shopping around town, we found that Harold had superior knowledge of diamonds over all the other retailers we had visited. Even after doing all the internet research we could and hearing the same spiel from everybody else, we learned so much from spending some time with Harold looking at various diamonds - he taught us how to look at diamonds with the naked eye while depending less on the four Cs to guide our selection of the perfect stone for my ring.
The moment I laid eyes on what eventually became my engagement ring setting, I knew that it was the one. I found out that the ring was actually a Harold Stevens design - truly an original. I get so many compliments on my ring wherever I go, and I love showing it off. Because of the design of the ring and the particular diamond we chose, my center stone gets mistaken for much bigger than what it is! That's all because Harold helped us choose the best diamond for the setting.
Sure, they don't sell the cheap jewelry you can buy at Macys or Nordstrom, but it actually means that they can focus their time and energy on the quality pieces that make for very special presents. They keep up really well with trends and their selection of non-engagement jewelry is just as amazing as their engagement section. It's worth it to drop by and browse their selection. They don't pressure you to buy, but they're always there to assist you if you need it. You might be surprised at what you find in your price range.
In all honesty, we enjoyed giving Harold Stevens our business. They were so helpful and we walked away feeling like we got a good deal - which is saying a lot considering the price tag engagements ring come with! They clean my ring whenever I take it in, and they re-coat and polish it once a year for free. It comes back looking brand new every single time!
The staff is friendly, helpful, and very, very knowledgeable. I am so happy with everything we've bought from Harold Stevens and would recommend them to everyone. -

I purchased my wife's wedding band here and the service from Yolanda was superb. I can trust that Yolanda will take care of any of my jewelry needs. If you are looking for a great Jeweler with amazing customer service Harold Steven's is the place. My husband bought my engagement ring from Harold's in 2009 and it is gorgeous. I have received so many compliments and love the cathedral setting and classic style. Every time I have been in to get my ring cleaned or to browse all of the staff members are incredibly friendly. Joy, Harold, and Ryan go above and beyond to make you feel like a valued customer.
When it came time to purchase our wedding bands we knew Harold's was the place. They had a matching band for my engagement ring and we ended up with a really cool and unique band for my husband. We went in a few times over a couple of months just to make sure we found a band we really liked for him and never felt pressured. We mainly worked with Ryan on the band purchase and he was so nice and helpful.
A few days before the wedding I received a surprise necklace to wear and it is stunning. My husband had been able to work with the staff on his own and pulled off yet another amazing surprise. I realized that my whole wedding ended up being styled by Harold's! Highly recommend you give Harold's a try for all of your jewelry needs. -

I purchased my wife's engagement ring here and they did a wonderful job. They have a great selection of diamonds, including fancy ones. They had a beautiful pale yellow diamond that really went with the vintage style setting I chose.
We also purchased our wedding bands here and Yolanda was just great. My wife had some family heirloom diamonds that she wanted to use for her band. They were all a different size, which proved to be a bit challenging, but Yolanda and company designed a perfect setting for it. I can't recommend this place more highly. -

We initially took some pieces in to get cleaned and inspected. They did a great job and Yolanda was very attentive and very easy to talk to. My wife had spotted an earring set she liked, so I called Yolanda back to inquire at a later date for a surprise gift. I stopped in and she showed me the set my wife had seen along with a few other sets as additional options. I ended up buying the original set for a great price, but I was happy she showed me some less expensive options in case I wanted to go that route. They have a great store, the atmosphere is laid back and no pressure at all. I will be definitely returning to this family owned business for all my jewelry needs.
BTW, You can easily park in the structure for free rather than search for a metered spot. Check their website for details, not an issue at all. -

I purchased my fiancee's wedding band here and we were treated so well. This is a family owned/family run business. It makes all the difference in the world to have a jeweler that not only knows his product but knows his customers as well. This is a place you can go everytime and be treated like family. I like most men know nothing about jewlery. So when I go in I want to be told a bit about the product. I also don't want to be sold the most expensive thing in the case if that is not what I am looking for. At Harold and Steven's before you even get to the jewelery they will talk to you and see what it is you are looking and what piece will be the best fit for you.
This is a place I will go back to for all my jewlery needs for three reasons, the of highest quality, the friendliest of staffs, and the best customer service you will find in any business hands down. -

I had a great experience shopping at Harold Stevens. I actually felt like I was being advised by a family member and not a sales person. I believe that is actually the biggest compliment that I can give. The whole experience was not a sales experience. It was totally unlike my experience with Robbins bros.
Yolanda has been absolutely amazing. She worked with me to custom order a ring, get made sure that the ring looked amazing and followed up to make sure that I was absolutlely satisfied. We went back to order another piece of jewelry and she went out of our way to make us happy. The extrodinary customer service at Harold Stevens will keep us coming back to Harold Stevens. -

I decided to go to Harold Steven's after a few family members went there for wedding rings several years ago. Before going to the store, I reviewed the Yelp reviews. I was thrilled when I arrived and Yolanda was there to help me; I'd read so many wonderful reviews about her and I felt so lucky to have her there to help.
Yolanda was AMAZING! I walked into the store having never tried on wedding rings, not knowing what I wanted, and holding 3 family rings/stones that I knew I wanted to incorporate into my design. Within an hour and a half Yolanda managed to find me the PERFECT setting. She was patient, listened, and provided direction and advice. She was able to help me find something better than I imagined.
I thought the ring was going to take 4 weeks to order, but Yolanda again surprised me and had it done within a week! Her communication and service is superior!
I couldn't be happier with my experience at Harold Steven's Jewelers! I look forward to returning to the store for years to come! -

"Looking for an engagement ring"
I did a ton of research before coming to Harold Steven's Jewelers. I yelped the top rated stores in SD and made at least one attempt to visit the top 5 jewelers based on feedbacks and recommendations.
The top stores all have the diamonds I wanted so it really came down to customer service. Yolanda @ Harold Stevens was for me the difference maker! She was very helpful in providing me the selection of diamonds I wanted to see. At no point in time was I ever pressured into making the purchase because she wanted to make sure that I was comfortable before deciding on the diamond. When I finally picked out the diamond, I knew I made the right choice!
NOW, I originally picked out the classic solitaire setting but after looking at it for a few days I decided that I wanted something different for my fiancee.So I gave Yolanda another call and an idea of what I was looking for. Believe it or not, on our second try in locating the setting I want, WHOOP THERE IT IS! The setting was gorgeous and it complimented the diamond even beyond my expectation. I got to give a lot of credit to Yolanda for finding the setting.
Bottom line, just go to Harold Stevens! -

Sometimes you have to give some credit to where it is deserved! Harold Steven's Jewelers helped me get out of a very sticky situation with personal attention and quick service.
Here is what happened and how they saved the day.
My girlfriend had just come home from China to show me her new favorite Jade ring she bought for herself, it really was nice. A few days later we were up at the Carlsbad Outlet mall and I saw a Dead Sea Salt place and told her that the salt was amazing for her hands! I was dropping my J-knowledge on her! Well she gave me her ring and enjoyed the salts and we left. We left in such a daze from the salts that I forgot her ring on the counter...never to be seen again.
I was obviously in the dog house for this error!
I called up Harold Steven's and Harold's son Ryan (this place is family owned) took care of me every step of the way. We went through several designs and many catalogs until we found the right match. Ryan understood my story and was able to help me find the perfect replacement for a very good price and in a timely manner.
Just from that experience alone I know that when the time comes (many many many years in the future) for me to buy a ring when it matters most, there is no question about where I will go, Harold Steven's Jewelers! -

We found Harold Steven's Jewelers when we were seaching for a wedding band for my husband.
The service was very good and not pressured as we were still not sure of what style of band to get.
Even when we said we were still looking around - they didn't pressure us to buy, they simply took our information so if and when we came back we knew what we had looked at etc.
We did end up going back and getting a very nice Tungsten/Platinum band.
And although we did not get my engagement ring or band from them, they were very nice about taking my rings in to be cleaned, checked and polished. They did not have a snotty attitude towards me because I didn't buy my ring from them.
We live downtown so their location is convenient but I do believe they validate parking. -

We are having an amazing experience with Ryan K. at Harold Stevens. We were in search of the perfect engagement ring. I actually found them by way of their TV commercial, it was classy and not cheesy as we had found most other jewelers to be. It took me to their web site where I found an amazing selection, which in turn brought us in to their store.
This is a big step for us. I was worried about being intimidated. Not the case Ryan, was so very helpful. We found "the ring" but I was not in love with the stone so Ryan suggested they could order a selection of stones and I could pick which color I liked the best. He worked around our schedules, we came in and picked out the most beautiful stone and..... wah lah, our gorgeous ring came to life!! I then knew this is where I wanted to design my wedding band. Ryan was very attentive in seeing and hearing what I liked and didn't like, he came up with an amazing custom creation. I can't wait to have it finished!
I also would like to note we had a pretty limited budget but they have been able to work with us and we are so very pleased! They also did an amazing restoration to a ring I had received from my Grandmother who had passed, they meticulously cleaned it and sized it. It came back to life, I never could have imagined what beautiful ring I had until they did their magic. All in all it has been such a pleasure working with Ryan and Harold Stevens. We are customers for life, and would recommend them to anyone! -

My boyfriend and I went to Harold Stevens to look for an engagement ring. We had no trouble finding it, just a bit of trouble with parking. We chose them because they carry the designer Scott Kay. They have by far the best selection of diamonds and assorted gemstones. Knowing absolutely nothing about diamonds, they took the time to carefully explain variations and what to look for. They worked beautifully in our budget, never pressured us and were extremely kind. They carry conflict-free diamonds in an assortment of cut, clarity, etc. They also have one of the most unique selections of other jewelry. They have customer appreciation sales with incredible discounts for future purchases. I would highly recommend this store for any large jewelry purchase.

I recently bought an engagement ring at Harold Steven's and I definitely recommend them to anyone who is in the market. As this proposal was going to be a surprise, I had very little input from my fiancée about the ring and the whole process seemed a little daunting. Ryan was very helpful first online and then during a few trips to the store to pick out a diamond and ring design. I can't imagine that anyone would have a lot of experience putting a ring together before getting engaged, but Ryan and his staff really made the whole process a great one. I am really happy with the quality of the ring (a Harold Stevens design) and my fiancée gets tons of compliments on how gorgeous it is. She has also gone in a few times to get it cleaned, which is complimentary. My fiancée and I are both completely satisfied with our experience at Harold Steven's and will definitely be purchasing our wedding bands from them.

My fiancée purchased my beautiful engagement ring from Harold Steven's, so here's his review:
I had a great experience shopping at Harold Stevens. I had never purchased a piece of jewelry before, but Harold was very helpful and knowledgeable and painlessly guided me through the process.
I had never really examined diamonds before, so Harold gave me a brief tutorial and showed me a bunch of loose diamonds with different characteristics to see what I liked. Once I found something I liked, he worked with me to get the best possible diamond in my price range. Harold showed me all the diamonds under natural light, rather than under gimmicky fluorescent lighting, so I knew that I was getting a diamond that really sparkled. Plus, without me asking, he showed me the diamonds under a magnifying contraption so I could see the "hearts and arrows", and even offered me his loupe so I could examine all the diamond's facets. Plus, Harold provided a copy of the GIA diamond grading certificate, so I felt very comfortable with my purchase.
The customer service at Harold Stevens was top-notch. On my first visit, Harold spent over two hours helping me pick out the diamond and the band. How many store owners would spend that much time with an Average Joe that just walked in off the street? When I came in to pick up the ring, Harold's son Ryan was really helpful and answered all of my questions.
I thought the prices at Harold Stevens were very fair and competitive, especially considering the quality of the customer service. Harold Stevens will definitely be our first stop when it comes time to search for wedding bands. -

I was very impressed with Harold Stevens. I walked in off the street and they treated me like a V.I.P. They had a huge selection, jewelry of all kinds. It was my one year anniversary and I wasn't sure what I should get, but I knew how much I could afford to spend. They spent a lot of time with me, they showed me some great ideas from a nice catalogue, and helped me pick out the perfect gift at a great price, a beautiful locket and necklace. I was short for time because I had procrastinated for a while, but it was all okay because they had the locket and necklace delivered really fast and they engraved it exactly like I wanted, the box looked great too. The whole experience was easy and enjoyable, not what I expected when I made the decision to buy jewelry. I'll definitely go back again and I'd recommend Harold Stevens to anyone.

I could not agree more with Alli W's review. My (now) husband and I stopped in to get ideas for my engagement ring, I knew about the store because I used to work across the street. He had been working with another jeweler to design a ring for me and it just wasn't coming out right. We met Harold personally, and he was wonderfully helpful, very knowledgeable and there was absolutely no pressure. My then boyfriend and Harold worked together without me knowing it and designed a beautiful custom engagement ring that is very unique. I love it!! We also purchased our wedding bands there and had my husband's custom made - we are as happy with that as my ring. If you want quality and personal service with the option of a beautiful custom piece, I highly recommend Harold Stevens. Tip: they do validate if you park in the building!

Harold tirelessly helped me search for just the right antique diamond for my engagement ring for over a year and a half. He was always very patient and generous with his time and knowledge. I had to bring my watch to an authorized service jeweler and Harold Stevens was one of the listed authorized vendors. First, I called the place to find out if they were open on Saturday and luckily they were. I spoke to Ryan and he was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the product. I decided to check out the place and brought my Philip Stein in for repair a few minutes before closing time. I just moved to San Diego a few months ago so i don't really know downtown well, but the store was very convenient and easy to find. All I needed was a battery replacement which took a quick 15 minutes and we also met Ryan in person who entertained us by showing us new Philip Stein models to consider for future purchases while we waited. This place was so welcoming and friendly. I usually get "the stare" and "walk away" looks at other jewelry stores but not at this one. We were greeted immediately with smiles and sincere service. I look forward to future purchases with Harold Stevens and highly recommend their superb service to all Philip Stein owners in need of an authorized service jeweler.

I must say Harold was awesome. Not only did he find me what I wanted but it was 1/3 less than a big name jeweler. My fiancee is so happy and I recommend to anyone seeking to buy a jewelry to go see Harold. Bring change for the parking meter.

This is my first Yelp review. I worked with Yolanda when she was at Leo Hamel. I was pleasantly surprised to find her at Harold Stevens. I was immediately impressed with the store itself. I found the environment classy and professional and the jewelry appeared to be of great quality. I was shopping for a 10 year wedding anniversary gift for my wife and I was impressed with Yolanda because she was able to help me narrow down my choices from a woman's point of view. I worked with her for 3 months to make the right decision and she was patient, helpful and very knowledgeable throughout the entire process. I know I got an excellent deal because I looked at 3 other reputable jewelers including Tiffany. My wife is extremely impressed with the quality of the diamonds and the expertise Yolanda provided. We could not have asked for anything more and I am confident we would have not received this level of service from another large retailer. I am now a firm believer in having a trusted jeweler on my side. We will be visiting Yolanda in the years to come.

I was very impressed with Harold Stevens. Ryan Krasner was very responsive during my initial email contact. I made an appointment and he showed me a variety of settings from Simon G. I was impressed by the vintage style of many of their settings. One ring of interest, which I saw online, was not in the store so Ryan ordered it for me to look at and it came in a couple of days later. He was very patient as I looked at a variety of settings. In selecting a diamond I never felt like I was being pressured into something out of my price range. In fact I was able to find a stone that was actually larger and less expensive than other stones I looked at. It was about quality and appearance. The ring I settled on was different from my original inquiry and actually less expensive. I probably made four trips to the store and sent numerous emails. I never felt rushed into making a decision. The pricing was less than Robbins Brothers and they provide cleaning for life and free upgrade on the stone. The ring was extremely well recevied and with the diamond I selected it looked fantastic. I was very happy with their service and will return there for the matching wedding band. Nothing negative to say about Harold Stevens.
