This is our new favorite local joint for pizza in Southern NH.  It's brick oven style pizza - I'm the type that usually skips eating the crust, but that's not the case here.  It's probably the crispiest, most flavorful crust I've had in a really long time.

They've been more than willing to handle special orders for us (white pizza with ricotta and penne - good stuff.)  Their "rolls" (I'm sure there's a proper term for them) are fantastic and served in generous portions.

I tried one of their pasta entrees (veal parm) - it was OK but not all that flavorful.  My wife on the other hand has really liked all of the entrees that she's ordered.  Their dessert offerings are a lot better than most Italian places (not just cannoli, tiramisu and gelati here)

Table service can be pretty slow once the place starts to get a little busy, so we try to arrive early.  Even if there is a bit of a delay we're OK with the wait since the pizza is that good.

The few times I've eaten there, the food was lackluster. Now for the price, I'm not expecting anything fancy, but it just was blah. For an inexpensive meal or for good pizza, there are other places I'll choose in the area.

Fantastic food at Harold's Square in Londonderry NH!!!

Can't believe we have driven by this place many times and didn't even realize it was a restaurant. It's kind of hidden as its on a curve in the road and set back off the road.

We sat down and the waitress promptly brought over a basket of home made focaccia bread. This bread is so good, and they give you so much you can easily fill up on bread.

The first time we went my husband ordered the Prime Rib. He got it with mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli. He got Pasta Fagioli with his dinner as well. He said the Prime Rib was one of the best he had ever had. Its was cooked exactly right, tender and tasty. He got so much food he couldn't budge.

I got sirloin tips, mashed potatoes and broccoli which was also very good. I also got a salad with Ranch dressing which was home made. I have the salad every time I go.

Since then we have been several times. During the week, they have a three course meal that includes soup or salad, choice of meals, and dessert. I have had grilled chicken with sauteed peppers and onions and rice pilaf, my favorite, chicken quesadilla (which is made exactly how I would make it) and comes with rice pilaf, salsa and sour cream. Beer battered haddock with home made cole slaw. Broiled haddock and strawberry shortcake to name a few. When I order the Chicken Quesadilla, I have enough quesadilla and rice for the next day for lunch.

The only other thing my husband orders is Veal Parmesan (his usual) which he said was excellent. Very tender, huge portions, and delicious sauce.

This place also has many sandwiches and salads on their menu. Prices are very reasonable and quality and quantity is excellent as well.

The servers are informative and friendly. I would highly recommend Harold's Square.

Was traveling on business and found this restaurant.  I picked up the beverage list, and asked the waitress if they had an IPA beer on tap.
She gave me an angry look and said "they are all bottles". I asked if she
had IPA in a bottle and she disgustedly said "we just have what is on the list".  Then I ordered the Saltimbocca, was told that they were out of prosciutto (this was a friday about 5:30 pm).  I ordered something else,
but the waitress was rude.  She brought me the bottle of beer and put  it on the table with the glass, as in "here, pour it yourself!".
"Caesar salad was just lettuce with bottled dressing on top and four
prefab croutons.  The entree was mediocre.

Anyone who thinks this place has good food obviously has not eaten in NY!  Too bad because there is not much else around other than chains.

    What just happened?

We stopped in tonight for dinner and was happy to see the place busy. We were told to seat ourselves and we chose a table in the middle of the room. We looked at the menu and was served bread and water and told our waitress would be right over.  We sat talking and realized we had been sitting there 20 minutes without seeing our waitress.  This is not a big place, I don't know how they didn't see us sitting there. I felt invisible. I like the food, but don't appreciate being treated like that. I will miss the chowder, goodbye Harold Square.

Harold Square is one of several pizza/italian restaurants located in North Londonderry, NH. The pizza here is usually pretty good, although it can certainly vary depending on the time of day.  There have been visits where I've had great slices, and others where I've been served pizza that could be considered mediocre at best.

Their sandwiches taste okay, but they are sloppy and poorly constructed, evidenced by the fact that most of the ingredients end up on your plate before you take your third bite.

I'd still give HS a 2.5-star review, however, as the French Dip sub is superb, and when their pizza is good, its GOOD. Just make sure to go here right at 12 for lunch to get the best food.

I needed to update my review of Harold Square since it's all about the overall food, value, and service, not just the pizza takeout I had a while back. The print ads for the pizza are now corrected, except for a small link on menu section of their website.

Okay so I had Saturday night dinner at Harold Square. They offer several dinner specials including the $9.99 3 Course Dinner (Thurs-Sat) and Prime Rib dinners (Fri & Sat). There are two options in the dining room, 1) Full waitstaff table service or 2) Order at the counter and sit at one of 4 high top tables along the wall. I chose full service dining to be more comfortable.

The waitress brought out a glass of house ice water and took my order for the $9.99 3 Course Dinner, which includes choice of soup or salad, entree, and dessert. I started out with a bowl of Pasta Fagioli which was excellent, plenty of garden vegetables, beans, ditalini pasta, ground beef in a tasty tomato broth, served with homemade focaccia bread, very clean to eat.

For dinner, I got the Spaghetti & Meatballs served with homemade focaccia bread, which had very thin spaghetti (just right), topped with a tasty marinara sauce and 3 soft homemade meatballs, a very filling and tasty dish. For dessert, the Strawberry Shortcake was also very filling, which had large homemade shortcakes, strawberries, and lots of real whipped cream.

Overall, I had a very enjoyable meal (as good as it gets) with plenty of tasty food at a bargain price of $10.79 (with tax before tip) and great attentive service, water topped off and I was checked on throughout dinner.

A frequent dining card is also offered, visit Harold Square 5 times and get $5 off the 6th visit. Aside from the lack of good hours during the weekday evenings, I'm disregarding the rating system of my previous review since several other places I've reviewed in Londonderry/Derry close much earlier.

Awesome place to grab a quick meal during work lunch hour.  HUGE selection.  We used to go crazy trying to figure out a place to eat where everyone would be at least ok with going (dude who doesn't eat Chinese food or chick who can't eat, like, cheese).  WIde selection of sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pasta dishes, etc.

You see a lot of Londonderry locals here like the police dept

Great food.  My family goes at least twice a month and we have never been disappointed.  The calamari is delicious and all the pasta entrees have been terric.  Ben and his chefs do a fabulous job and their Pizza is among the best I've had.

We have been to Harold Square probably a dozen times or so and have not been disappointed yet. They offer a large selection of food from Pizza, gourmet sandwiches, and salads to daily specials, including a fish-and-chips special on Friday.

Sandwiches are excellent and are made with always fresh rolls that appear to be homemade.

I am a big salad fan and have always found the greens to be exceptionally fresh, along with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. The dressing appears homemade also.

Pizza offers several choices, including several varieties of slices. I believe that you can get 2 slices and a soda for under $ 5. A large can be a little pricey (in the $18 range) but it is a very good value for the money both in size and quality.

The staff is friendly and when it is slower, the owner can be seen talking with customers. The only drawback is their hours; they often close by 6 or 7pm.

This is one of those places that almost looks borderline scary from the outside. Not even their sign helps, they have a pretty lame logo and I would love to re-design their web site.
My brother gave me a gift certificate to this place for my birthday. I honestly thought of giving it to someone. But then my girlfriend had a craving for pizza and I heard this place had a very good brick oven pizza.
So we checked it out and to my pleasant surprise the place was very clean inside and the people were very cool and friendly. I was delighted to find a delicious Frozen Mudslide on the menu and my girlfriend enjoyed her pepperoni pizza - with plenty left to take home.
But the best part of all was the cannoli I brought home for dessert - best I've had in years and easily the best I've had in the suburbs of southern NH. So many bakeries around here make cannoli that tastes like a kid's birthday cake. But this was the real deal.
If you can get past the tacky wallpaper and window curtains you're in good shape. Don't judge it by the web site (ack!).
