1 review for Harmony Trails Horseback
My wife loves horses. She loves riding them & being around them. Unfortunately we live in Boston - so we aren't allowed within 15 miles of a horse unless we join a private stable, schmooze a Kennedy heir, or harass a mounted cop near Boston Commons.
That's why we were jumping for joy when we found this stable offering horseback trail rides to the public - we rolled it into our planed trip to Tanglewood in western Mass.
About a 5 minute drive outside of Pittsfield, this 100 acre farm is quaint and remote with brooks and moderate forested hills. It's about 1/2 mile haul up a rough dirt driveway to the farm. The owner and her daughter were pretty busy on our weekend saddling up families from Connecticut, Boston, and New York. I think they start riding at 11:30AM and have openings every 1:30. They have about 12 horses which are all VERY tame...Sheri will allow you to push them up to a canter/gallop if you have the stamina.
When we showed up - there was an overbooking - so Sheri (the owner) asked us to wait-out the current ride and offered an extended trailride instead....which was awesome (since that group had some young kids and was pretty slow). We chilled back at the ranch with the dogs. Our ride was sooo much fun. My horse (Apache) had a complex about being last - so we had to compete with the wife (and Bella).
Anyway - This place is a guaranteed good time. Make this a part of your weekend!
Note: Make sure you confirm your name and appointment with them when you call to avoid any overbooking.
