They have a decent beer selection and okay food, for the Monadnock region. Harlow's has decent pub food and a nice outdoor area. Most of the food around here sucks so bad it makes places like Harlow's and the adjacent Twelve Pine look awesome when they're really just mediocre, which, in turn, leads to shitty service...they know they're one of a few places where you can get halfway decent food, so they'll always have local business and don't need to be nice to anyone. If you look like you're under the age of 40, be prepared to be treated like dirt. The staff has this hysterical phobia of college kids that's definitely illogical and hysterical. I once had an elderly waitress ID me, look at my out of state ID, and then literally yell at me asking if it was a fake. Did she think it was a fake and she was going to scare me into admitting it if she yelled at me?

I grew up in Peterborough and always go to Harlows when I go home. It is a very cool place with laid back employees and a funky crowd. The owner Dave is a really cool guy who displays is personal movie and music memorabilia around the bar. The food is great and affordable. The beer selection is also excellent. There is always great live music and room to dance. In the summer you can sit out front on the patio and watch all the downtown traffic. I miss Harlow's when I am not home!
Wonderful local hang-out in down town Peterborough. Excellent beer selection - always a number of interesting local brews on tap plus a broad selection of domestic and international by bottle. Comfortable rustic setting, with local news papers, books and games for the entire family (and dog when the street front cafe tables are open!). Some evenings there are local artists playing piano etc. which is lovely. Food is ok - the veggie burrito is suprisingly tasty but the salsa unfortunately not fresh and too salty. Meals are good sized servings - besides the large nacho plate (variety of options) there are unfortunately not many appetizers or snacks. Friendly staff are a plus.
Harlow's is a fun lil pub with yummy pub food (they make a nice burrito)- they have Wachusett Ale on tap - always nice to support local breweries. They have recently started showing obscure movies around 10pm on the lower level on Saturday nights (I believe). Its a good place to people watch, meet up with friends- and in the summer the patio is also packed.
