Never going back. Manager tried to offer me free tickets after I voiced my complaint but it was too little too late and I told them they had lost a customer - a promise I've kept.
Twice in a row seeing movies the first week they opened we were subjected to theaters with very poor air conditioning. Both times I had a large wet spot on the back of my shirt from sweating and I'm not one to sweat like that just sitting still. Walking out I noticed it was a common affliction as almost everyone was visible wet with sweat from the poor circulation of warm air. And I was in shorts and a short sleeve shirt. Many people (including my wife) were dressed expecting the chilly temps that are usually standard in a movie theatre - I was amazed no one passed out.
The Harkins of yuma has only been around for a few years and as such it is in pretty good shape. It is usally clean inside and the seats are nice and comfortable for me. These seats are the rockers so they are great to play with. (ok at least they were fun for me when I was young. :-P )
LIke most Cinemas they have incentives to get you to come back. For example the Harkins has a deal on soda that if you buy their huge special cup for X amount of dollars (dont remember the exact amount) you can get refills for a dollar any time you bring that cup in. Now if you drink a lot of soda or just drink soda period in a Cinema then you will save some money here. Expecially if you and your significant other(girl/boy friend or spouse) share. :)
For movie the Harkins shows most of the big hits and some of the not so big hits. But the theater is only 14 screens so some movies will just not make it. Case in point, becoming Jane(2007)
One last point is the price. It cost more then the main street theater in down town. as for the pop corn and soda I am not sure which is more but I like the free pop corn deal at the Main Street theater.
So the 4 stars are for its nice accomindations and numerious screens. 1 star off for price.
