Hard Rock Cafe
5 reviews for Hard Rock Cafe
Let me get this off my chest - I like to avoid chains whenever possible, and I feel like I'm betraying myself a bit when I give this place 5 stars, but they're definitely deserved.
My boyfriend and I stopped in here knowing they'd have vegetarian fare (ie a veggie burger), which is hard to come by on Beale... and in the south in general. Whoda thunk? We split the southwest egg rolls (yum), and both got veggie burgers. Seriously? One of the best veggie burgers I've had. The grilled veggies on top were a nice touch, too. I ate the heck out of mine. Two berry margaritas and I was feeling fiiiiine.
Our server was great. On top of everything. Even kept up with my excessive water drinking habit. In fact all the staff were super friendly and happy when we were there. The place was nearly empty and there was a freak March snow storm going on outside. My companion and I were a bit bitter, since we'd traveled to get away from this sort of weather and were both initially a little put off by everyone being so chipper. But by the time we left we were both in much better spirits. At one point all the staff even went out for a snowball fight in the street. How can you be grouchy when other people are having that much fun?
Great location for this cafe! It is in a very cool and historical neighborhood of the city. Same merchandise you come to expect from the chain.
Why is it I expect every Hard Rock to be so good, and they always totally disappoint? I don't get it.
I had a regular burger and fries, and the food was just average. It's never anything I enjoy but I still go because, yes, we collect the t-shirts. (Damn me to hell, I know.)
Beale Street's Hard Rock was no different, however I did like some of the memorabilia. My son, being a guitar player, really liked the memorabilia.
Excellent Bartenders: I thought the food was average, considering the wide variety of food to be had downtown, but the bar staff were fabulous! Went in twice, 2 separate days/nights, and enjoyed both visits. I unfortunately did not get the names of the 2 staff members who served us, but they were awesome. It is worth putting up with Beale, just to go there.
The food here is the same as any Hard Rock Cafe, same menu. The service is usually good but it is so crowded that it takes forever to get a table. I think you are so hungry by the time you get a table you really don't enjoy the atmosphere like one should.
