It's a bargain -- $20 for foot and body massage (latter portion lasts about 20 minutes). It's a good place if you like vigorous massaging...actually my gal was quite strong and I ended up with a huge bruise on my back the next day. But i'm sure you can ask them to adjust the pressure.
Great bargain at $20 and hour! I went with a few co-workers after work and it was fantastic. I had a really hard dance class the day before and my muscles were very sore and I had bruises on my feet. A one hour session at Happy Feet worked out all the kinks and soothed my muscles for class again that evening.
The woman who worked on my body had really strong hands and some parts hurt, but it felt really good afterwards. You can just ask them to lighten the pressure if you want it lighter. Just make sure if you're not comfortable having the opposite sex massage you to pick the person before you start. Having done foot massages like this in China it's pretty similar. Communal chairs, quiet atmosphere, I fell asleep at one point.
The owner was really nice and told us they were opening up another office in Palo Alto in June/July and it would be a bit more comfortable in there.

$20 is no joke. You can't get cheaper than this. I'm not a huge massage person though, we decided to try this place out on a whim one night and I thought it was well worth the 20 bucks but... Next time I go back, I'm not sitting next to anybody I know. They do a little bit of slappity -slap-slap type stuff and all I can see it doing is make me laugh (at myself and my friend who was sitting next to me). It's a communal area with recliner chairs spaced a couple feet apart around the room so I knew exactly when my friend was getting slapped (and vice versa). heh heh.
But overall, it's a good experience. They put your feet in hot water, then do a short head massage, followed by arms and hands, then go back to feet, then turn you over and do neck, shoulders, back, legs. I'm ticklish so I liked that the massage was strong but my friend said she thought it was a little too strong. But she'd also go back sooooo... it wasn't that big of a deal.
My sister and I were tired after a long day's work. We needed a quick fix. Thanks to Yelp, we found this place within a 10-minute drive. At 3pm on Friday, the place was nearly booked. Good thing we had called ahead to make a reservation.
For $20 (plus minimum $5 tip) for an hour of massage, you really can't complain. We each had a male masseuse who spoke no English but seemed to understand our needs.
MASSAGE: I was seated on a reclining leather sofa, covered with fresh towels. My masseuse (Mr. T) brought out a bucket of warm water, in which I left my feet for about 20 minutes while the guy massaged my head, shoulders and arms. He then proceeded on to my feet. I had to tolerate some intensely sharp pain when he pressed one particular pressure point, but over all, it felt great. He then flipped me over, massaged my back, buttocks and legs. Never had I imagined myself being so comfortable letting an old Chinese guy grab and squeeze my butt repeatedly.
SETTING: The place is big enough to accommodate about 10 patrons only. The room is fairly dim with serene music softly playing in the background. The only thing that bothered me was the SMELL. Don't know what it was...but it was the first thing I noticed when I walked in, I felt a little nauseous after a while.
SUM: Would I go back? Maybe. For $20, this is the sweetest deal I've found since our last trip to Asia.
CASH ONLY.

They were fantastic. Almost empty near closing time on a Tuesday night. Clean, dark, pleasant. An excellent massage for the two of us, and a great pho' restaurant is nearby. The price is now $25, and it's a real bargain at that rate!
I went here with Shelly H. to try out their super cheap (for the Bay Area) $20 foot massage. I've been dying for one since I got addicted to them while I was in Asia. Almost all the massage therapists were men except for 1 woman.
We walked in with an appointment and the place was almost full. There are 10 chairs in the room. We got the last 2 chairs and proceeded to sit down. I heard Enya over the sound system and they had a flat screen in the front with nature scenes. The spa had darkened windows and it was really quiet. Well except for a man snoring really loud.
We sat down and they soaked our feet in hot water with herbs. The massage therapist massaged my forehead and scalp and then massaged my feet. After 25 minutes I turned over and he massaged my neck, back and legs.
After he finished massaging I sat up and discovered that the white towels they used to cover me had left lint all over my all-black outfit!
I will definitely go to Happy Feet again. For $20 and a tip it's totally worth it for me. Next time I'm going to request foot massage only as I like that better than the neck and back massage.
Note to self: DO NOT wear all black clothes!

Chinese massage spas are for those who take a utilitarian approach to massage. The idea is to keep the overhead low so affordable prices allow you to come in as often as your body needs...not just when you've saved up for a special occasion splurge.
Tips for a successful Happy Feet experience:
1. Go on a weeknight. It's booked full on weekends, but on weeknights the therapists can take extra time on you if they're not all booked up.
2. Try to go before the last hour. I was placed in the chair at the end of the row on Monday 9pm and had the symphony of a washing machine (for all those towels) and occasional uses of the restroom in my ears. If you do go at the end of the night, try to get a chair that is not near that corner of the room.
3. Tell them upfront whether you want light pressure or strong pressure - it will make a big difference. They will choose a strong therapist for you if you like it deep, and lucky for me I'm a tiny girl so they gave me the light pressure therapist.
4. Bring cash including tip money. No credit cards.
The owner is super nice - she really does want to help people which is why she charges low prices. She also values hygiene - I love how they line the foot soak buckets with a new plastic bag for each customer - no worries about whose feet have been in there before mine!

I found this thanks to the ROTD that it received. I've gone to a similar place in Milpitas, and was looking for a place that was a bit closer to home. I called for a Saturday afternoon same-day appointment, and they were able to accomodate me.
This place seemed to be really happening. There's a hair salon, a vitamin shop, and a accupuncture clinic all in the same shopping center. Parking is limited, so you might actually have to park on the side streets adjacent to the center.
The inside, sadly, is not what I expected. There are about eight chairs all in the same room. The only thing that separates the entrance from the room is a shoji screen, and that doesn't do much. Since there isn't that much room between the entrance and the rest of the room, you can hear customers coming in and out, the telephone ringing, and people opening and closing the door during your massage; not so relaxing if you ask me.
Just like Happy 8 in Milpitas, the massage starts off with a soak in a tub of hot water. A towel is placed over you and the guy starts off with the scalp and shoulder massage. The foot massage wasn't what I was expecting, though. I was expecting more reflexology than just a rub down of the feet. Don't get me wrong, it felt good, but I find that a good reflexology massage, while a little painful, feels great.
I was instructed to flip over, and the guy went to town on back. He used some fairly strong pressure on back and at some points it was a bit much. I guess I could have spoken up, but if he can inflict that much pain, I wonder what it would be like if I pissed him off.
Overall, it was a decent experience, but I think that I prefer Happy 8 in Milpitas. You can see way all the customers and what's being done to them.
Cash only, too, so make sure you make a run to the ATM before you hit this place up. Prices are $25 for an hour, and they have a sign that "suggests" tipping your massage person.

I'm not one who typically gets massages. Especially from older Chinese dudes. But my cousin asked if I wanted to go, so sure why not. My aunt and uncle were already there.
It was pretty full up in there, some old ladies who were speaking something slavic, my aunt and uncle, my cuz, a few Asian people and white dude with tats and snored.
First they soak your feet in a bucket of hot, but not uncomfortable water, I think something was mixed in there. Then head massage, arms, feet, and then back.
The recliner had a hole in the headrest to stick your face through. I kinda want one for my place, good nap spot. The forearms in the back reminded of when George Jefferson would stomp on the doorman's back. Lot's pressure, but very relaxing.
I discovered a few things.
My left triceps area is ticklish.
I had knots in my big toes.

an hour massage for $20?!? whatta bahgain!
It's not Swedish massage but they do work out the knots. They use pretty heavy pressure, which I enjoy but may be a little to rough for others. Just tell them how you like it. The acupressure foot massage wasn't very relaxing, it didn't tickle and it didn't hurt, but it didn't feel awesome either. You really can't beat the price though.

THE BEST 20 BUCKS YOU WILL EVER SPEND!!!!!
If you don't mind getting massaged in a group setting this is the best massage ever!!! I can no longer book 100 dollar massages after the 1 hour massage you can get at Happy Feet.
I have to admit that the first time I went with my friend and I had to stop myself from laughing as I heard the person laying next to me getting pounded like a piece of meat. It was the flesh slapping that made me giggle a little but once it came to my turn...it felt GOODDD!!!!!! No more laughing!
They spend a good 20-25 minutes on your feet and legs and it's awesome. The massage is very focused on the feet and it is very deep but it really gets the brain synapses going and you can feel all the different parts of your body coming alive.
There are no oils used so the massage on your upper body, arms shoulders and back are all done in with your clothes on and in a recliner chair so it's almost like your mom is giving you a really good massage on the couch at home.
This is definitely worth trying and you should definitely call for a reservation to make sure you can get in. I think they have a total of 12 recliners in the space. Usually it's not booked but you never know.
My hubby and I try to go every weekend.
A+!!!
