Happy Family Chinese Restaurant
2 reviews for Happy Family Chinese Restaurant
I had a different experience than the previous reviewer. I've gotten sick at a few places myself, but the meal I had recently was pretty good. I went here on a typical weeknight for dinner and decided to eat in. The menu is standard Chinese fare including Hunan and Szechuan dishes and they offer lunch and dinner combination specials (free soup offered to dine-in customers) for under $10. A Wednesday Buffet is offered too, but the sign outside is a bit misleading since the Wednesday Buffet is Lunch Only and not dinner. I was given hot tea and iced water after I was seated. I order the L05 Pork Lo Mein which came with choice of rice, appetizer, and soup. The hot & sour soup was pretty good, nice and spicy, served with a bowl of thin fried rice noodles. The pork lo mein, fried rice, and egg roll arrived shortly and the good portion of hot food was very good. The hot tea was very good and I finished off the pot. However, my waitress had several tables to take care of and would do literal drop-offs of the food, (slam), the soup was splashing over the bowl. The water guy/bus guy refilled my ice water a couple times.
Not a bad place for Chinese food in a small town. Overall 3.5 STARS.
