I am from South West Michigan but go to school for my doctorate in Chicago. On a vacation home, I attended a yoga class with the chef of Happy Buddha. My next time home, I got take out from Happy Buddha. This is a great place and something that is very lacking in SW Michigan.
It is Pan-Asian with a myriad of different dishes not all Thai: Some Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese.
I had the Ahi Tuna Burger w/o the Wasabi Aioli. It comes on a pretzel bread with tomato and eggplant. It was AMAZING. So great. Fresh, beautifully prepared, light yet filling. It comes with an good cole slaw. Also tried the spicy cucumber salad which was good as well. I could do with out the peanuts. Friend was a big fan of the Pad Thai with chicken.
Four stars for the slight pricey nature of this place but I think they are catering to the Chicago crowd that frequents this part of Michigan. The prices are comparable to Chicago prices (11 bucks for the Pad Thai, 9 for the Ahi burger).
I did not eat in but the place looks cute and good for lunch or dinner. I will for sure be back. This place is not to be missed. -

Sorry, but the Buddha closed around the middle of January, 2009.
