Hanover Country Club
1 review for Hanover Country Club
I had the pleasure of teeing it up here with my brother, my uncle, and a new family friend last weekend. Let me tell you, this course is fun, well-kept, and very challenging.
There are lots of long carries on tee shots, with plenty of places to lose balls. It's not a long course, but plays long as there is a lot of elevation changes. The conditions are really nice with good fast greens, and level tee boxes.
The course is beautiful -- especially a stretch of about 4 holes on the back nine which are particularly magical in their setting.
The pace of play was nice and quick, even on a weekend morning.
The layout is slightly funky, with 7 par 4's and 2 par 3's on the front nine, and 3 of the final 4 finishing holes as the only Par 5's. It's a bit of a death march, and by the end, if you're walking (we were), you're pretty pooped as you play the final holes.
The driving range and practice area is away from the clubhouse, so, if you want to hit balls before you tee-off, give yourself plenty of extrat time.
Finally, no beer is sold on the snack cart. No beer? At Dartmouth? WTF? If you like cold beer on a hot summer day, you'll have to sneak across the freeway at the 10th tee and pick up a sixer at the Co'op Market.
I've always wanted to play here, and thanks to my Uncle Jim for lining this up. I hope I get invited back!
