This is my facialist. Forever. Either until I move or she retires.
1) Location - It's hard to find at first, but it's between the Chinese (used to be Korean) karaoke place and Secret Garden Korean Restaurant in the plaza on El Camino Real in Santa Clara. It's in the plaza where Dairy Belle used to be, but is now a Korean drinking place called Jujubi's (after the plaza with Walgreens and Pho Hoa, if you're coming from Lawrence Exwy). Ask for Hanna's Skin Care at the Park Jun Beauty Lab's desk.
2) Hanna - She is a wonderful facialist, not to mention masseuse. She frequently attends facial seminars and received training in massage in China! She prefers Korean over English, but speaks to me in English (I am Korean, born in the States). She's in her mid-forties and has two sons in college. She's motherly and knows wth she's doing. And she doesn't have cold hands. I adore her!
3) Service - PHENOMENAL. No joke. Goes well over an hour. Starts with a hand paraffin wax, cleansing, exfoliating mask, extractions, more cleansing, a heavier mask with the white netting, vita C serum treatment, baby oil back and neck massage (my favorite), the Korean face-shaping massage (to make your face smaller - Koreans like small faces), face muscle massage around cheekbones (again, to make your face smaller), and of course finishing moisturizer and sunblock. She'll even wax your upper lip for free, if you ask!
3) Hours - Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. I called last Friday morning and got a booking in at 3:30 p.m. She always accommodates my schedule.
4) Price - I saved the best for last. The facials are $65. No tax, no nothing. $65. If you buy the 10-pack, it's $600 ($60 per facial). And you get a free facial on your birthday if you buy the package. She takes credit cards too! Since the price is so good on the package, I usually tip her $15 (20% of the price of a regular facial). You can't share the package, but she lets me share with an immediate family member, my mom!
I usually get facials at Ciana, the Aveda spa in Los Altos. It's ridiculously expensive compared to Hanna's and I always feel like they are trying to cut my hour short. Here, the facial goes for well over an hour and I don't feel like I'm getting a "rushed" treatment. Hanna also provides peels, waxing and microdermabrasion.
Try it. You won't regret it. I'd rather go here than Tova Yaron, Ciana, or any other place - even if it were the same price!
