The Sister(and Brother)hood of the Traveling Cotton Pants

When my daughter was 2 we bought her a pair of striped pants from Hanna Anderson for about 7 dollars.

When she was 3, she wore them as Capri's.

When she was 4, she wore them as shorts.

When she was 5, she kind of out grew them, but.....

My son was 4 and the pants were gender neutral so he wore them as shorts.

Our third child is 3 months old.

We still have the pants.

Look for an update in about two years.

**If you are looking for absolutely well made and adorable kids clothes (and hell, my wife has even found cute items here for herself), at a bargain price (particularly when they have their frequent sales), make sure you stop by this outlet. As an added benefit, there is a Columbia Outlet across the parking lot. **

whatchu know about kid's clothes?!

nothing! if you have never heard of Hanna Anderrson.

i am not a mommy... but i am an aunty and I LOVE this store! i can spend hours in here buying and checking out the cute, comfy clothes. my cousin's wife introduced me to HA. this is the first place she comes to when visiting from chicago. they have only a few outlets and one of them is located here in lake oswego! they also have a store in the pearl district, but for those of you who know Hanna Anderrson and how great her clothes are, you are familiar with the high price that comes with such quality.
this outlet is not huge, but they have a great selection of kid's clothes at awesome prices! you can get the same items that are normally $45 for as low as $5 dollars here! and it's not like they are defective either. of course the price varies, but you can find a lot of amazing deals. they also have a small selection of women's clothing as well.

the cotton is organic, so needless to say it is SUPER SOFT and good for you -- over 50% of their stuff is certified oko text standard (tests for harmful substances). i especially LOVE their pajamas and my neices/nephews love them, too. the prints are ADORABLE, colors are bright, and the sizing is great here because kids can grow into them really well. plus, they last for a LONG time~ extremely durable.

i love their stripes! i wish this outlet got in more PJ's in adult sizes.
they have the cutest family collection on their website. i would totally get the matching PJs (check pic) if i ever had kids+husband. someday.

DO give this place a try!

p.s. a part of their profits even goes to a charity for kids. you are awesome, hanna anderrson. thank you  : )

I'm a regular at Hanna's . . . very regular. The thing is, you have to go often if you want to get anything at a true discount price. Their regular prices are about 10% to 20% off of the outrageously expensive retail price -- that's not an outlet, that's a sale.

But when this place has a sale, it's a whopper. Every few months, they have a big sale, well advertised via emailing list. People line up to get in before the doors are unlocked. They politely refrain from pushing and shoving, instead hovering over your shoulder, hoping against hope that you'll decide against the item in your hand, because that's the very thing they came here to get. When they have a good sale, it's not unheard of to get things for $3 and $5 (regularly as high as $48).

My children and my nephews wear a lot of Hanna -- jammies, jackets, tights, dresses, leggings -- it's all cute and really takes the abuse children give. A lot of the stuff has been through all 6 kids and is still in great shape.

This is a great place to shop for matching/coordinating clothes for siblings, twins, even parents. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they even have a little play area for the kids.

Just don't buy that last pair of 80 blue-striped leggings -- I already have the matching dress at home, and I'm not above pinching your kid to make you drop them!

Hanna Andersson has GREAT children's clothes that can stand up to the test of time.  These are the kind of clothes that can be washed over and over and handed down to another child.

The sizes of the clothes are in European measurements, but the store has conversion charts that correspond well with sizing the US uses.  Some of the clothes are sized a little bigger which helps as children grow quickly.

The store also has a limited amount of clothes for adults which is where their sizing goes askew.  Small is very, very small so size up accordingly.  Women's clothes are for the very thin.  They didn't use to manufacture clothes for women like this, but recently they changed their line and made their clothes fit the malnourished women.  Men's clothes are sized well.  I wouldn't buy adult sized clothes from Hanna Andersson.

This review is predominantly for their online store and catalogs.  The brick and mortar stores can be found on their website (http://www.hannaanders...).
