Love this place for americanized sushi!  Its interior is very nice and clean and the sushi is delicious.  I know its a go to for my BF when we think sushi.

My only gripes are 2. 1, being it takes awhile for the sushi to come out, its never really flowing and 2, the prices are a bit expensive for what you get.  Other than that its worth a try

Nothing says a hearty meal like sushi (being sarcastic here)...especially after attending the best airshow in California! Actually I found this place by accident; it was suppertime and I didn't really want to load up on the usual sammies and fast food.

Hana Sushi does have ambiance; nicely decorated with Asian pieces of art that adorns the walls as well as a soothing cascading waterfall to enjoy with your meal. The servers were very nice and attentive and were happy to answer any questions you might have from the menu.

Well I was hungry and so was my friend! So we each order a bento box: sashimi with veggie tempura and teriyaki chicken with assorted sushi. Sounds and looks good from the respective pictures.

Within 10 minutes, our meals came. The amount of food was plentiful and it was very eye-appealing. So far so good eh? This was before we start digging in.

Unfortunately, aside from the teriyaki sauce that was ladled over, the chicken itself was very bland and chewy. There was absolutely no taste to it. And the "assorted" sushi? Mostly the dreaded California roll...4 pieces out of six were California rolls which made me sad. There was one spicy tuna and one salmon sushi. You call that "assorted"? I can do without the plethora of California rolls!

My friend didn't have much luck either: tons of greasy tempura and a few slivers of sashimi. Definitely not worth the $18 price tag, that's for sure.

I would give Hana Sushi another try however both of us were disappointed with our first visit.

Yum!  The sushi is absolutely fantastic!!!  I enjoy the variety on the menu, and it makes it so hard to choose what I want for dinner, so I always enjoy my go-to. . their Temecula roll!

I love the service, genuinely sweet people and very efficient. . . everytime I go, there's never anything missing from our table (silver, condiments, etc.) and they take great care without being interruptive; a true gift.

I decided to come here one night after a patient recommended it. My husband is Japanese and he just didn't believe we could find a decent Japanese restaurant in the Inland Valley. Boy was he wrong!

The decor in all the Hana Sushi Restaurants are  dark, elegant, and peaceful. Service was always genuinely friendly and quick. As soon as we sat down, they gave my two children a pack of crayons and coloring paper.

We truly expected all the other wonderful elements of an Inland Valley sushi restaurant, but we truly didn't expect good sushi! I ordered a few rolls and couldn't finish it. That's how huge and filling they are! I don't remember the names of them...too busy watching the two kids. I did wish they had more roll choices that didn't contain spicy tuna. 80% of all their rolls had spicy tuna. =( me no like spice

They made up for it with their toro. It was 15 for two large slices of toro sushi and 34 for sashimi(not sure how many slices). My husband cut me a small piece from one of the slices to give me, then he went to the restroom. He was quite angered to return and see the whole slices of toro gone. hehehe....oops....yap it was that GOOD...worth getting into a fight for. =P

Don't forget the 10% off the total bill coupons. You can get them in your mailers. Saved us 10 bucks WOOHOO!!!

Here on business. Was craving sushi. Deciding between Hana and Rolling Moon. I am glad I picked Hana Sushi. It was really great!

Food was fresh! Ordered seaweed salad. HUGE portion. Had I known it would be that big, would've ordered 1 roll.

    Green tea yummy.

Sushi Boy roll - highly recommend if you like unagi. Unagi is my favorite!

Funky Monkey - was a little funky for me. Probably won't order that one again. I think the jalepenos did me wrong.

Only concerns - it took awhile before someone refilled my tea glass and gave me the check.

Staff was very friendly. Always appreciate that.

Would definitely head back if I ever find myself in Murrieta again!

We love Hana.  It's always good.  Always consistent, always friendly service.  Nice atmosphere and decor.   For people who complained it's in a strip mall............welcome to Murrieta/Temecula.  I've never seen a sushi place here that isn't connected to a mall or strip mall.  We used to only eat sashimi, which is the ultimate test of a sushi place but with the economy we've added rolls and Hana makes great rolls....hard as it was to come down off our sashimi high horse.   They have a great variety for people who like lots of raw to all cooked.
They get really packed on weekend nights and never seem to miss a beat.  Great place.

My family goes weekly...this is our favorite local spot for sushi.  My faves are the moon river roll (with cilantro added), the baja california roll and the funky monkey (if you like spicey and fried).

The service never disappoints and the atmosphere is nice.  The owners have presented us with Christmas gifts for the past two years.

Start the rewards card if you plan on becoming a regular.  You will receive a percentage for every purchase.  This can quickly add up and become a free meal.

I don't even believe they deserve one star. where to begin?! I'm so upset with this place! When we sat down we weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink. Actually had to ask the server every single time someone at our table needed something to drink, or needed anything for that matter. She was not a server at all. NEVER once did she ask us if the food was ok or if we needed anything else. Horrible service. And when it came to our food, it came 45mins after we ordered and there was no one in the restaurant at that point. To add to it they screwed up a roll order. And when they fixed that roll it took them 2 secs to get that to us, so what was the hold up on the other rolls?!?! Poor service entirely. I lived here for years and I loved coming to this place but this is the second time this has happened. I will not return to this place again.

My man always goes on and on about how clean the place is so I feel compelled to mention that for him.....  It really is the best sushi in the Valley.  Best part is the food! Since our 5-year anniversary had to sort of be put on hold due to the rain, we had some alternative plans for our day. We drove up here to see our house and its progress, then went to Sports Chalet to get some scuba diving stuff, after that, I got hungry and so we stopped here for sushi! The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it reminded me a lot of Japan. The decor was nice, it had a kimono on the wall, some Japanese art, and it was very clean!

We got seated right away, we had the option of sitting at the bar or at a table, and we asked for the table. The menu is pretty thick because everything has pictures with it and so many options as to what you can eat, from chicken teriyaki served in Bento lunches to sushi, they had it all. We wanted to order sake but they didn't get their liquor license yet, since they just opened. I settled for a lemonade and hubby had a coke.

I saw the dessert section and it looked delicious, there was a green tea mochi dessert and I thought about saving my stomach for dessert, but knowing me, I never hold my stomach out for sushi. We ordered the Michelle roll, the Sushi Boy roll and the Temecula roll and they were all delish! (See photos attached), I really love the arrangements on the plate, very pretty.

The service was really fast and I loved how all the waiters were in a tuxedo shirt and bow ties, very formal of them. The sushi arrived rather fast and they checked on us constantly to see what we needed and our glasses were never empty. We didn't feel rushed and when we were done, they even ask us if we want one last refill, how nice of them.

The place looks spotless, like you can eat of their floors! The bathroom was very clean too, and that means a lot to me since I am petrified of public bathrooms. I have to say, I'm rather excited to be living by such a nice plaza with really good sushi nearby.

This used to be a Blockbuster, but I guess they weren't having great business (... I guess nobody rents movies in Murrieta anymore...?).

My mom and I came here for lunch. The decorations are really pretty... lots of places to sit. And it surprisingly wasn't crowded. Their sushi was good... nice presentation, fresh, etc. A bit pricey for the amount of sushi they gave. I've had better.

This is probably the best sushi place in all of Murrieta/Temecula. Just sayin'.

I usually go to Woomi Sushi on Los Alamo (b/c of its close proximity to my house) but I was feeling adventurous and decided to try this place out for a change.

You have to check out the cool decor... suspended Asian kites on the ceiling, makeshift flower beds along the walls... very nice.

Ordered albacore and yellowtail. They even threw in in complimentary Toro and scallop dish (hot).  I also added ...don't remember exactly what it was called... but "love something roll".

    Staff: very attentive and friendly
    Food: Delicious
    Atmosphere: Thoughtful and Elegant.

Of all the sushi places in Temecula and Murrieta, this was my all time favorite. Give it a try!

We have been here twice now.  After moving to Murrieta from Orange County we put off our hopes and dreams of finding a decent sushi bar in the IE, planning to travel to the OC for some good fish.  Well, we are so much in luck!  Our first experience at Hana was very nice, we had great service from the wait staff but our rolls took a long time.  There was confusion with an order that got cancelled that we wanted anyways.  Well, they made it right.  Our second experience was even better.  We had the Honeymoon Roll (yellow tail over crab tempura with jalapenos and green onions) was amazing.  The miso soup is very good.  The chef also offered us fresh wasabi which is hard to come by, so that really impressed us.  We have ordered the spanish mackerel both times and it tasted very fresh and delicious, the chef even fried the bones for us and gave a beautiful presentation.  I'm so excited to call this our new sushi place close to home!

They get everything right except for the food!

We tried five different entrees and they were all nearly flavorless. We eventually gave up.

The store bought mochi that they give away as a freebie was the most flavorful item of the meal and we paid $70 for the privilege.

Skip this place and hit the Carl's Jr in the same lot. It'll cost you 1/10 the price and the food will be at least as good.

This is probably the best place to get sushi within the Temecula/Murrieta vicinity...and believe me, I've tried very hard to look for decent eateries in the area.  The restaurant is very spacious and new compared to the smaller sister Hana Sushi at the south end of Temecula.  The sushi/fish/food is consistently fresh and well-prepared, and the place is extremely clean and well-decorated -- be sure to check out the restrooms!

The menu is big and their special rolls are generous portion-wise, and you can find the same items at the other Hana Sushi (near Redhawk) as well.  The service is very friendly, but can run a bit slow on busy evenings.  Whenever I'm craving sushi, I always head to Hana =)

My husband and I decided to try Hana recently after hearing great things from family and friends. We had already decided to get my husband's brother and his girlfriend a gift certificate there for Christmas and they are suppose to be doing the same for us, so that we can all go out to eat together.

So we sat down to try it out and I was first disappointed by the fact that they only had steamed rice. I really love fried rice, but not really something to complain about. My husband got the Temecula roll as well as yellow fin sushi. I got the California roll. First came our salad, the dressing was good but I don't think I liked it with the field greens/spinach leaves. Although they are usually my lettuce of choice, I don't think they went well with the dressing. Just a bunch of Romaine lettuce would suffice. Again, not really something to complain about. My husband's Temecula roll was HUGE! There is no way anyone could possibly fit one whole piece in their mouth! He didn't really like it at all, and said that the fish tasted very fishy (which means it was not fresh). He also said that the yellow fin tuna he ordered was very fishy! Needless to say he did not finish his food, which is so unlike my husband!!! My California rolls were also quite big and did not stay together, they kept unrolling while I was putting them in the soy sauce. They also just plain tasted bad! Not sure what it was exactly though. I think it may have been a combination of the fact that the crab meat was bad, also that they were so large, so they had a lot of crab meat, but also that they added to much of the mayonnaise (japanese mayonnaise or whatever it was) to the crab meat. I had to spit my second one out it was so bad! I was nauseous the entire night after that! So now we know we don't like the place, but are soon to be stuck with a gift certificate and are going to have to sit through dinner with my brother in law and his girlfriend while dreading the repercussions!  :(

I've eaten here about 3 times now.  The restaurant itself is very nice.  Booths on the right, tables in the middle and the long bar on the left.

The food was good but not the best I've had.  I used to work in Orange County where there is more competition.  The prices we pay in Murrieta-Temecula are about 25% higher than Orange.  Over there I could get a full box meal for about $10.  I guess I'm dropping one star because of the prices.

This place is good. Consistent food and quality. Its pricey though. The decor is super pretty. They used to have 99 cent beers at happy hour, but they stopped that. Good for a date because the booths are big and you can face the indoor waterfall or you can sit at the bar. I LOVE the Michelles roll. I have't seen anything like it anywhere.

    Don't believe the hype.
My wife and I tried this place since it had such high reviews on Yelp and it was closer to home than our regular "go to" sushi place.  I will say right off the bat that it loses one whole star just because I had such high expectations off of the reviews and it left me disappointed.
Let me say also that it wasn't "bad" but it wasn't anything to write home about either...just enough to write on yelp about?
So, no edamame on arrival. This is pretty standard and we were surprised not to get any...no biggie though. We ordered the Rainbow Roll (always a good go to sushi roll for freshness and lightness). Now mind you the rainbow roll is pretty much the same everywhere you go. Not so here. I am not 100% certain what all of their fish choices were actually. On the first bite I got a big stringy piece of something from the fish caught in my teeth. Unsettling and a bit uncomfortable but oh well. Again it wasn't "bad" but it just didn't have that fresh flavorful taste that made it my favorite roll.
For the second attempt we got the "Viking Roll". We like to have on baked dish for variety.  The Viking Roll...sunk. nice presentation with a little foil looking boat and fire but it fell apart the second you touched it and the lemon slices between the rolls were very overpowering to say the least.
That was enough and we opted not have more, also a menu note...there seems to be a lot of jalapeno options so if you are looking for a spicy variety they have a lot of spice but it is all jalapeno. The wasabi wasn't very strong either and I found I had to use a lot to get the flavor effect I like.
While it isn't customary at most places we found ourselves missing the complimentary scoop of ice cream we get at our "regular" place too after the meal. Its a nice touch.
To close...I also thought $50 for 2 rolls and two beers was a bit much. Maybe that was just sour grapes since I was disappointed over all. Either way I wont be returning.

How does this place even get 2 star reviews?  Did you guys burn your taste buds off? This place sucked ass and that's a compliment.  Hana Sushi is located in a shopping center in the California Oaks "district" of Murrieta. I was craving sushi and decided to stop here.  Damn stomach you let me down this time!!

The establishment was nice and clean.  I sat at the bar and watched the Yankees pummel the Angels :)  I ordered a California hand roll and the Chicken Teriyaki bento box for lunch, which included an assortment of sushi,  a side salad with a light dressing, rice, miso soup and grapes to cleanse the palette.  The miso soup was bland.  Is clear even a considered a flavor? You know it's all bad when you can count the tiny pieces of tofu they put in there.  A total of four in my serving.  I moved onto the Chicken Teriyaki, what a disappointment!!  Although the chicken was tender, the sauce was just "brown and water".  The sushi assortment looked pretty on my plate, but that was about it.  When I dip sushi in soy sauce it should somewhat hold.  I grabbed a piece and it fell apart before going to its soy sauce swimming pool.
The salad was about the only thing I enjoyed next to the chai I purchased from Starbucks earlier in the day.  The side salad consisted of a spring mix with cucumber, with a slice of tomato and a nice vinaigrette.  So I paid $ 25.00 (including tip) for a roll and a bento box.  What a load of crappy crap crap!!!  If this is the best Murrieta/Temecula has to offer, I would hate to see what is the worst!!

I officially miss the Bay Area now (sniff, sniff).

We LOVE Hana Sushi!  They always greet us and remember us. The last time we ordered was a "phone in" and the rolls were just as good as eating them in the restaurant.  The food was ready as promised and they are open until 10pm for that really bad late night craving.

The food is decent but definitely over priced.  The service is at a turtles pace, especially when you go during happy hour and try to order the 0.99 cent beer.
