Stopped here FROM Hana, in the only fruit stand we stopped at.
Banana bread was AWESOME.
Star fruit was juicy, first time having one.

We stumbled on this place on the road FROM Hana. We were told by many people that we had to buy banana bread on the Road to Hana. We had stopped at one place along the way but the sample of their bread was not good. Then on the way back, we stopped at this place and were very happy. I got the chocolate banana bread which is made with Hawaiian sea salt, so you get the sweet of the banana with the chocolate and the savory of the sea salt. So freaking good. It is the best banana bread I have ever had in my life. Luckily they have a website so I don't ever have to drive on that crooked road ever again.

So, most people know about the famous Hana Highway in Maui and it's notorious reputation for hairpin curves and amazing views...
However, when you finally get to Hana (after you pass about a thousand road-side stands), there is one that stands out just a little above the others...
Just before you see the little ditch and then the small sign that says "Welcome to Hana," you will see two little hales, and you will most likely notice the words "Banana Bread" somewhere in this picture (I'll give you a minute in case you're a slow learner)...do you see it? Yup, just stop.
Parking galore, even on busy days...
The best Banana Bread you've ever tasted (even better than your Mom's--how's that, huh?)...with like six different varieties (the chocolate chip one is awesome). They even entered a banana bread competition with various locals (they are haole's) and it was judged by locals and they still beat out the local guy--cool, right?
Nice people, and awesome fresh-squeezed lemonade...sit down at the picnic tables and stay a while (or take cover from the rain, which always seems not too far away).
If you can brave the Hana Highway, you will definitely reap the benfits!
