I have to say that Jonathan Han has provided me a new beginning to my career. I am a software developer who spend lot of hours before the computer. Due to non-ergonomic postures and work habits I have developed RSI (repetitive stress injury) problem over the years. I have been suffering a lot from this issue for the past 4.5 years. At one point I was not able to type continuously even for 5 minutes. It hurt my productivity and I was scared of the future of my career. I tried switching keyboards, had several ergonomic sessions to adjust my workstation setup, even filed for workers comp and had many physical therapy and acupuncture sessions, did frequent stretching, etc Those little things all helped improve my condition but after some point it hit a ceiling. I was able to work for 20 mins without break. But I could not spend more than 3-4 hours typing per day without significant pain.

Then I heard about Jonathan Han and his institute and thought I would give a try. I talked to him about my problem and started trying his acupressure therapy. Just after my first session I knew that this therapy should help me recover. His style was so much effective and I could see gradual progress after every session, I was able to work for 25, 30, 40 and more than 60 minutes without pain after each session. I just had a total of 5 sessions over a period of 3 weeks and I am on my own now knowing when to take break and how to control my pace as to not aggravate my condition.

Some of the stretches that he taught are extremely useful for relaxing the nerves and muscles and I use them regularly during my stretch breaks. Now I work at 30 minute cycles with 5 minute breaks between them and can work for more than 10 hours per day!

Regarding his yoga classes and teaching style, I must say he is among the best of the people in business. He gives detailed explanation on how to do the poses, the benefit of doing them, why we are not able to do those poses, how to get there, etc etc and gives a lot of personal attention to everyone in the class, correcting their postures, answering questions etc. I have been to few other yoga teachers outside Han studio and I can say Jonathan is far better at teaching yoga than them.

For people with RSI/carpal tunnel issues, I would strongly recommend you to visit Jonathan Han and get benefited from his treatment. Just to warn you, it is a not a cure-in-a-day type of thing, be patient give it some time and I am sure you will see gradual improvement. The main thing is to correct your posture at work, take frequent breaks and persistent stretching. Yoga definitely helps!

Amazing, personalized, relaxing, clean, awesome instructor Jonathan Han.  This is what I felt after taking his class, I like to make it short and sweet and these words still  aren't good enough to describe.
    Amazing place, amazing instructor.

After 4 classes I think I can rate this place fairly.  I am a newbie to yoga, so my experience to other yoga studios is limited (I've had ~15 yoga classes total in my life not counting the WiFit practices ;) ).  I've tried out two different instructors @Han Yoga and enjoyed both thoroughly.  Jennifer H is my favorite and the instructor I've had for most classes.

First, the space is very convenient.  There is plenty of parking out front, and it's near to the slew of grocery stores in the area (Safeway, Sprouts, Trader Joes, and not too far away Whole Foods) so if you want to complete your yoga with your grocery shopping and feel doubly virtuous you can.

The space is pretty relaxing.  I wouldn't have imagined that red walls would work to get me in the "mode", but so far so good.  In the morning, they effectively use the natural light coming in from the windows.  This gives a nice warm feeling to the place.  There are mirrors along the front, and room for approximately 3 rows of people.  There are thick brown foam interlocking mats lining the wood floor, with black yoga mats spaced out to provide people with direction as to where to place their yoga mat without crowding each other.  Soft music is piped through the studio during the session, and the instructor walks through each of the movements.  The studio is very clean, and while it sometimes can get warm, it definitely has a very positive feeling about it.

When you walk in the first time, they get to know your name, any ailments, and your level of experience.  This is key for the experience for the night.

I enjoy Jennifer as an instructor as she is very knowledgeable, soft spoken, and explains movements clearly.  She also comes by and helps get you into a better position to show you a more thorough stretch.  She also goes through more advanced movements when there are more experienced folks in the class it seems.  Jennifer is very clear about stressing doing the motions correctly and stopping where it's comfortable but a challenge.  Even though I can't do all the motions (yet!!), I feel comfortable not being at the same point every one else is.  Every class has been different with some motions overlapping, but the flows changing (even though each of the classes I've taken are the Therapeutic Yoga ones).

It's definitely a challenge for me as a beginner, but I feel comfortable attending knowing that I'm learning and getting more flexible as time goes on.  In a few months time I'll have to return to review and give an update as to whether it maintains its challenge.

There just isn't enough room to say all the amazing things about this studio. I've been to many different places over several years so I know what I am talking about! The owner, Jonathan Han, is the most gifted yogi ever. Not only can he do all of the postures that make your jaw drop, but he has studied many different disciplines, including tai chi, massage therapy, and accupressure, and understands how to use yoga to heal the body. He guides students through each series, carefully explaining how to modify to avoid injury based on your limitations. He shows students how to use asana to help themselves treat almost any condition, from insomnia to hypertension to carpal tunnel, while keeping the class fun and lively. The postures and flows, often his own creation, are new and challenging, not the same 10 poses you do over and over at your typical studio.

Most studios have large groups of students following an instructor who can do poses well but doesn't really understand the meaning behind them or walk around to check students' alignment. The small studio size ensures that you receive personalized attention, with the instructors checking on each student and ensuring they are safely getting the most they can out of each posture. While the studio offers classes of different styles and levels, all students are welcome to any class and can be sure they will be well taken care of.

You can feel safe coming here no matter what your current condition. If you are overweight, stiff as a board or have a recurring injury, you will be welcomed without judgement. You will get a workout and a good stretch, have fun, and start the journey to a happier, healthier you!

Warning: many students become addicts, attending class several times a week for years and even studying with Jonathan to become instructors themselves!

I really, really wanted to like this. It's intimate and pretty. But the teacher, who is also the owner, spent almost the full hour showing off his superior skills and telling the class that if they studied for twenty years with him, they'd be able to do it, too. He talked and showed off and we did very little yoga. When we did, he said this isn't a competition, but the challenged us to push harder, and even pulled on our muscles until they hurt. I wouldn't go back. I go to yoga for peace and harmony, not to have it treated like a martial art with an egotistical sensei.

I have been taking the basic yoga class with Jonathan Han for the past month and I really enjoy it.

I've taken yoga at other places where I felt like I was always stuck doing the same five positions (downward dog, warrior, plank, triangle, etc.)  Every class I've been to at Han Yoga is different and fun, with a variety of crazy new positions that challenge different muscles.

This is a good place for advanced yogis and beginners too.  Although there are people at many different levels in the basic yoga class, it doesn't seem like Jonathan is catering to only one level or one person.  He gives everyone personal attention and assists everyone with doing the poses to the best of their abilities.

The atmosphere is very friendly and non-judgmental, and Jonathan Han is pretty damn funny. He is also very knowledgeable regarding how different positions benefit your body.

I never feel like I am watching the clock during yoga class, which is rare, because when it comes to working out, I get bored pretty easily.  The basic yoga class never seems like a grueling workout, but the next day when my muscles are sore, so I know that I must have done something good for my body!

This studio also has dance classes under the business name Wicked Dance.  I am looking forward to taking some of the dance classes once the new session starts next week!

I've been going to Han Yoga Studio for 4 years and love it!

I was not always a fan of yoga.  I thought it was just a bunch of people sitting around and oom'ing with their legs crossed.  Finally, a friend of mine convinced me to give it a shot.  Han Yoga showed me that yoga can actually be about working out.  They focus on positioning and select moves that build strength as well as flexibility.

Because the studio is smaller than what you'd find at a gym, you don't feel like you're just one of the many minions just there to go through the motions (you could just stay at home and watch a video if you wanted that).  Another good thing about the studio is that there is air conditioning! No hot yoga here.  The instructor, Jonathan (and previously his sister, Angela), keeps it casual but focused.  He will make sure that positioning is right and will challenge you by trying to introduce moves that will bring you to that next level.

So if you enjoy challenging yourself and learning how to improve strength and flexibility without dealing with mystical stuff, Han Yoga can be a great fit.

There are people who think yoga is for girls or maybe that yoga is boring or maybe that yoga won't give you a good workout.  Well, Jonathan shatters all these believes.   His unique blend of yoga from several traditions, as well as tai chi, pilates, and his poses of his own creation allows for an unique and amazing workout you won't find elsewhere.  So whether your goal is to lose weight, gain flexibility, get healthy, get happy, or just to kill some time, Han Yoga is the perfect place to be!  No two workouts are alike.  Be prepared to sweat! Don't worry about anything either.  It doesn't matter what your current body condition is, Jonathan's an expert making sure each and every one of his students are taken care of and will modify poses according to your ability.  So...if you really want a good workout, head to Han Yoga and see for yourself!

And...Jonathan's also an amazing massage therapist.  So if you've got any aches or pains you gotta make an appointment cause he will take care of it!

Do you see anything less than five stars in his reviews here? No.  That's because he is amazing! Jonathan's classes are for all levels and he is truly a master.  He is very entertaining and keeps class interesting as well. I started 8 years ago and while I don't have as much time to drop in at this point I always look forward to going with my mom and sister when I get a chance.  I also used to use him for massage and acupressure for my migraines (which I no longer get at this point). Again amazing- Go to just one class and you will see the difference in learning from a true master from someone who is just certified to teach.

I have been at this studio for a little over a year now and I absolutely love it. It took me a while to find a yoga instructor that I truly liked. The instructors that I had checked out before arriving at this location either (1) knew how to do yoga, but didn't know how to instruct well; (2) didn't know how to do yoga at all; (3) went through the same 3 or so poses over and over (no variety); OR (4) didn't know how to modify poses for those who have bad knees, tennis elbows, or other similar injuries.

At Han Yoga, the instructor definitely knows how to teach and knows how to modify poses. Plus, he keeps the flow moving and he's hilarious; therefore, I never get bored. He also always throws in a variety of poses and he  tailors the poses to fit your level, whether it be beginning or advanced.

Additionally, the atmosphere in this place is very friendly and welcoming. I never feel like I'm "competing" against anyone.

I definitely recommend this place to people of all yoga levels.

This is a fantastic studio! Jonathan is amazing, he's so kind and funny and really, really knowledgeable. He keeps the mood light and fun, unlike other stuffy and pretentious studios. He really challenges your body but takes really good care not to push you farther than you can go and possibly injure yourself- he's very serious about correct posture and makes constant corrections as he walks around the room. Its so fun and everyone is so friendly that I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

The only cons would be that a) the studio can get a bit crowded sometimes and b) there's not a designated changing area, but you can use the bathroom if you need to and c) its a little pricey but totally worth it for the quality of instruction and fun atmosphere.

Jonathan Han is a yoga master!  This yoga will challenge, enlighten, and strengthen you.  You will be reminded of you of muscles you didn't even know you had.  I always come out of class feeling happy and uplifted.  I have been a student for eight years and try yoga in various places I travel for work, in all that time I have not found a better teacher than Jonathan.  Class with him is a gift for yourself.

If it were possible to give higher than a 5-star rating, it would be Han Yoga!  I've taken many yoga classes throughout the years, mostly in San Francisco & Los Angeles, and I have to say Jonathan is THE BEST!  His classes are super fun, really challenging and truly designed for everyone, at any age and any yoga level.  I really like that he integrates several traditions, including Tai Chi and Pilates, and he helps you adjust each pose to the level you are at.  His knowledge, practice and love of yoga really can't be beat!

And if that's not enough, taking classes taught by graduates of Jonathan's Teacher Training Program, who demonstrate a solid foundation of their knowledge and practice of yoga, further show what an amazing teacher he is!  After several years of researching many yoga training programs, I recently started Jonathan's training program, and hope to continue studying with him for as long as he continues to teach!

Seriously, if you need to de-stress, want to lose weight, address an old injury, become more flexible and/or toned, or simply deepen your practice, take a class at Han Yoga!  It's sooo worth it!!!  You won't regret it!

I must have take Jonathan's class at least 15 times.  This is late 2008 and early 2009.  He teaches an all level class and is focused on strength and flexibility.  I felt amazing after my first class- all my muscles were loose and I felt so relaxed.  However, I started getting less and less from the classes and it wasn't enough of a work out for me.  The prices are also a bit steep- around $15/class IF you buy a package.  The times are convenient for after work and the classes are very personal because Jonathan gets to know you.  He is really laid back and funny- and he is a super yogi.  The crowd is mostly 30+, so if you are older you won't feel out of place.

Fabulous yoga studio! I've been coming here for the past three months and have really enjoyed this studio. This is probably the longest that I've stuck with a studio. I've taken classes at over 10+ locations and none have been as helpful as Jon's classes. What I love best about Jon is that i he actually comes around the class CONSISTENTLY to adjust you. Unlike other studios where they leave you to sit in your wrong position all day every day. I appreciate the adjustments immensely as that's the only way to learn how to do the poses correctly. Jonathan really knows his stuff and is able to tell you exactly which muscles you are building with each pose too. I wouldn't say it's the most zen place to do yoga as Jonathan focuses on the poses versus a meditative experience, but you definitely build strength and endurance and learn the right way to do the poses. Jonathan is a true yogi, unlike some of the teachers I experienced at Cindy's yoga who were practically brand new to yoga and read meditations off a sheet of paper.

Jonathan's yoga class kicked my butt!  He uses many different styles of yoga so no class is the same and you never get bored. I can't touch my toes (i can barely reach my knees), but i've never felt unconfortable or limited in class because of it. I have already gained more flexibilty and am sore (good sore) after every class. He takes the time to work with everyone during class and has a great sense of humor while doing so. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in yoga.
