I still can't believe this is in Baltimore! This elegant, uber sumptuously decorated restaurant in the Intercontinental Harbor Court Hotel near the Inner Harbor is ridiculously gorgeous. In terms of food, service, and atmosphere, Hampton's is superb.
I was treated to a vegetarian tasting menu (I prefer not to eat meat sometimes) paired with wines for my birthday, and while I know the light snowflakes falling outside (the first snow I've witnessed on my second jaunt back east!!) were not planned, the service by two outstanding waitstaff was. I have to recommend going for the wine pairings; they do a fantastic job and even surprised me with one of my old favorites, a glass of sweet Conundrum, to start. Of note, the pumpkin soup was both intriguing and delicious in presentation and taste, while the fruit ravioli that I had been looking forward to all evening did not disappoint.
The only mishap, the ladies' room is a ways away, down a lonesome hallway almost back to the main lobby. My wonderful boyfriend was worried something happened to me as I was wandering back, some twenty minutes later.
Paul, our server, was friendly and truly a knowledgeable server.
I'd go back, that is, next time someone has nearly $300 to drop.
