Hamptons Park is a 32-acre gem of a park for the locals living in or near North Lauderdale. Not a glorified playground, Hamptons is classified as a woodland park that is brimming with shady trees such as slash pines and cypress trees. In its center is a scenic lake that has a walking path around it and various park benches. You can rent canoes, paddle boats, etc. for less then $5/hr. Park pavilions are popular with families throwing barbeque birthday parties. Inside, there a few volleyball sand lots.
There are small nature trails that wind around the park along with small, well-maintained tot playgrounds for the kids to play. Lotsa folks go here to go running or bicycling around.
Also, every year, there's a Halloween haunted house situated at the park that lots of teens and kiddies go to for family fun.
