This is the second in an on going series I call "My Favorite FREE Things."
First of all, this place is in Rancho Cordova, not Gold River. The snobs in Gold River would never allow a motel to reside there.
I just stopped by this place for FREE breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised. They have sliced summer sausage. What? Real meat? What a treat! This automatically ranks well. I am finding that warm, cooked food is not usually provided during the continental breakfast hours.
They also have the standards of cereals, DIY toasts, coffee, orange and apple juices. I did like that they also have cheapy Danishes you get from the liquor store or the gas station. They were nice enough to take off the plastic wrappers and serve them "under glass."
I was very surprised at the quality of the room, service, and complimentary breakfast. Had a great stay as I was passing through town. Highly recommended and a great value.
Out of the few hampton inns I have been in this is one of the best. they have a very good location and maybe just because it was such a beautiful day but bluejays were fluttering outside and sittin on the bench out front was a treat. they have free breakfast 6-10am daily but that goes for every hampton inn. our hotel room was decent. stocked well...the distinct smell of bedsheets and a big tv.
reason why it doesnt get more stars??? I asked the man up front ( i assume the manager?) if we could do late check out cuz my friend had gotten foodpoisoning and i wanted her to rest up some more. he looked and me and said
"when is it that u want to leave"...with complete attitude
"um is 1pm okay?" ( EVEN though i kno latecheckout is till 2!)
"ok 1pm lets not make it later then that OK?" ...wtf as if he was an adult scolding a child for being a burden
that was complete and utter unnecessary rudeness..
they have a gym + pool!

I really liked this place with my husband and young child. The updated rooms are hip and kid friendly (like there is a partition that kind of separates the bed from the sleeper sofa in the Living room area). "wink wink" Free breakfast too, but you may pay if you want more for breakfast than what they offer. Ended up with this hotel looking on Orbitz for a 3 star. Got a great deal! Great for your needs while up here.
After staying in several different places in SAC while working this I by far the best out of all of them. Nice comfortable bed and pillows. Everything was clean and quiet. Pay per view movie system is kind of out of date. Will stay again next week when I go up to work.
