5 reviews for Hampton Inn Channel Islands Harbor
This is a fantastic hotel with amazing views. It helps that I was on the side of the hotel facing the marina and on the second floor. I could safely leave the window to my porch open all night and listen to the palm outside my windows and the yachts' bells being moved by the ocean wind.
The bed was comfortable and there was a TV. The wireless internet is FREE, which is a huge deal for me. If I'm gonna drop more than 35 bones on a hotel for a night, the Internet needs to be free. I stayed at a $259-per-night Hilton one year and later that year at another Hilton that charge $279-per-night. The Internet (wired only) was $10 per night. There was no wireless Internet at either hotel. That's nonsensical.
But this Hampton is amazing. The staff were great and let me know when the rest of my crew arrived. The breakfast was fine if one avoids the warm food (imitation eggs and sausage or biscuits and gravy.)
There's no restaurant here, and no bar, so that sucks, but as an ensemble, I will stay here over any other hotel in Oxnard on all my future trips.

This property itself is what I would expect from a Hampton Inn. Clean rooms, friendly staff and the ever-present continental breakfast in the morning. The lack of a hot tub was mildly disappointing, but there is an outdoor fire pit which looked very inviting (although I did not get a chance to enjoy it).
If you are going to be spending any time in your room, be sure to get the harbor view, not the parking lot view. The harbor view balconies get the perfect amount of afternoon sun with the cool ocean breeze.
Overall I would highly recommend this property if you are going to be staying in the area.

I echo the previous reviews and also admit that I am biased as a Hilton Honors member. I thought that you can't beat the price/quality ratio. For $150 we had a second floor room with a balcony facing the Marina on a Saturday in August; the Mandalay Bay Embassy Suites wanted $400
This was the perfect choice after several days of comparing numerous hotels. We made plans to go to the Channel Islands and spend a couple days in and around Santa Barbara.
There weren't that many choices...either 4 star prices for 3 star quality or 3 star prices for 2 star quality if you know what I mean...all high priced and no value. But I was thrilled with Hampton. It was better than I expected, comfortable, clean, well decorated, free Internet, free hot/cold breakfast and great staff. It was exactly what I was looking for, for our family getaway. Very similar amenities to a Hilton.
Tip: Ask for AAA rate if you have membership, $125 weekday rate.
Rooms- Clean, comfy beds w/white comforters/sheets (hate florals), dark wood furniture, tasteful decor like pottery barn. Clean bathroom, decent waterpick showerhead.
Location- Beautiful marina view, perfect location on the harbor, beach and nearby restaurants. Old exterior of the hotel was the only let down but remodeled interior made up for it.
Amenities- Free Internet, Free breakfast, Don't expect pool/spa...go to the beach.
Good restaurants- Ed and Me Pizza, Brothy Brothers (SB). Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Starbucks.
Highly recommend, best value hotel in the area!
