Oh my. Well this was a bad choice on my part.

I'm generally a fan of the Hampton Inn brand but this was not one of it's better properties. The hotel is pleasing enough when you enter into the lobby but that's where the niceties end.

The rooms are a bit dated but that's not the problem. The problem is that they smell funky. Like a cross between a smoker and something mildewy. My room wasn't terribly clean either. The bathroom was fine enough but the sheets had some hair on it, and the mirrored closet door was covered in finger prints.

This is my beef. There is a train that runs near here. If you are a light sleeper...don't bother. The thing is damn loud and annoying at 11 pm and 2 am. With that and the other noisy guests (no fault of the hotel I will say) it didn't make for a restful night's sleep.

My other problem is that there really isn't any place around to eat. There are some funky looking bars and a Subway but no real sit down restaurants.
