Gets a four star because it's the nicest place in the immediate vicinity.  If this were in a bigger city, it'd be 3.  I stay here on business trips.

- the nicest hotel in the immediate neighborhood
- bar, restaurant and room service available (and no, not all the local hotels have these)
- big place, so when there's not a conference going on, it can feel kind of empty / a little creepy
- nice surroundings: set back from the road, large space with trees etc.
- food was OK -- not great but way better than some of the other places I ate locally; this neighborhood isn't a bastion of great cuisine.
- room clean and comfortable

I had a wonderful time at this hotel for the 2 weeks of my training.  The pool and the fitness center were so nice to go to after a long day.

The best part?  Vanderbilts, the hotel bar.  I'd say the best bar I've ever been to to date.  I'd love to say I'd go back to dirty Jersey just for the bar, but me thinks not.

Not a bad hotel, plenty of conference space, and lots of auditors wandering around here.

An indoor pool, exercise room, tennis courts in the back, chairs all over for sitting, conference rooms, and Vanderbuilt's are all located here - a bar/restaurant with free pool tables, foosball, hand shuffleboard, a Jamaican band during Thursday summer nights on a patio, and other specials. Fun place to gather post-conference or work, if you're in the area.

Besides my desire to break out of the reservation during my two weeks of training here a year ago, I'll offer the following notes during my tortous work conference here.

1) I think its awesome they have a basketball court out back, and they give you a ball to release aggression after a long day of presentations.

2) The weight room is pretty fantastic. Lots of weights, treadmills, and a big screen tv to watch sports on .

3) Vanderbilt's (the bar) is a great place to drink, lounge, watch games on their 5 or 6 flat sceens, shoot pool, and best of all play this table game with sand and flat metal disks (i know its got a name, something like curling), all while enjoying views of the pool right next door and a lounge area outside.

4) the food we had during the two weeks was really good. They did a good job of offering variety both inside (traditional meals) and outside (bbq and grill).

5) The staff is really nice. They let us parade around drunk, took care of our dry cleaning, called cabs and shuttles, and gave me a ton of free apples to eat.

6) the surrounding area, while not too much to look at, provides laundry services, and most importantly, grasshopper's downtown, which is a somewhat seedy bar / dance club, that as long as you pack it with a hundred or so finance people in one spot, you'll be just fine.

I stayed and had the rehearsal dinner for my wedding here.  It was clean and modern and had a really nice bar with lots of pool and foosball tables.  The waitresses and bartenders were all very nice and I got some great shots, beers, and appetizers.  The sampler platter was huge and delicious!  Everything else was great, including the indoor and outdoor pool, super nice gym, and basket ball court outback (where I played a nice stress relief game with my groomsmen late the night before my wedding).  So if you have to stay anywhere near Morristown this is probably the best place.
