I love this store for the same reason I love the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. Its a totally immersive environment.
You open the door and step in and feel as if you've traveled into another dimension. You are transported outdoors on a spooky Halloween night with a creepy haunted mansion directly facing you.
Take your time, wind your way around the shop and not only do you find every gruesome get-up imaginable, you can find lots of really cool and kitchy things. Can you tell I'm an old Goth at heart?

Aside from how hilarious it is that we have a halloween store all year round, this place is pretty cool. Come here for all your costume needs...whatever floats you boat mister...
I actually quiet enjoy their velvet paintings which are hung around the room with the staircase. Pretty nice selection of wigs too....if you're into that kind of fun..

Halloween Town makes Burbank cooler.
At first, I drove past and chuckled to myself. "Haha, the rent must be dirt cheap to have a year-round Halloween shop open."
Then I drove past it again and thought "How cheesy! Why is this necessary??"
Then I needed a medieval costume for an audition. HALLOWEEN TOWN!!! I cruised over and - alas - it was closed for the night. But, for the first time, I saw the front display (http://www.yelp.com/bi... & http://www.yelp.com/bi... & http://www.yelp.com/bi...) and I knew this place HAD to be visited by me.
The place is HUGE, first off. HUGE. They have a retarded amount of stuff.
And they have it all: costumes, gag-type novelty items, wigs, masks, books, jewelry, etc. They even have a room that is (more or less) devoted to the Haunted Mansion (think Disneyland). They have the soundtrack from it playing on a loop and have other fun scary items...
It is really a cool spot, a must-see for anyone who lives in Burbank, or "Burbank adjacent".
I wish I got more pictures.
So: going to a costume party? Need to make your place more spooky? Wanna get a head start on Halloween? Come here. You'll love it.

Yes, its true. I'm a crow. So it would make sense that... I LOVE THIS PLACE!
Skulls, skeletons, wigs, costumes, mouse pads, martini shakers & general creepy things! Shiny fun spider jewelry with gems! Cawwww!! This place is obviously perfect for Halloween & Goth lovers. But they have great gift items too. Some of their items are a bit pricey but hey, look at all the work they put into the decor & ambiance of the store! Its a shopping experience, and you are supporting a local business. The owner is a sweetheart and has done an excellent job with her new location. Beware, its a dangerous place for your wallet. You will walk out with bags full of stuff! They even have tiki items in there. Go! And beware of hitchhiking ghosts!
** Stop #4 on our Yelp tour through Burbank / North Hollywood **
Nope, the tour's not over...
Right across the street from Yummy Cupcakes we spotted Halloween Town. Needing some props for my department's annual Halloween festivities, we trekked across the street and into this Halloween mecca. It's kind of like walking into an old house, kind of dark and looming on the inside. But chock full of holiday accoutrements. Whole rooms are dedicated to mens, kids and ladies costumes (head upstairs, ladies!). Another room for tombstones and various lawn ornamentation. And another room for various gory props and such.
The boy found an inflatable sumo wrestler costume, complete with fan to inflate it! I was looking for gory hands, heads and other props to recreate crime scenes. Luckily we didn't have to battle many crowds and the helpful and plentiful staff didn't seem too frazzled... Yet.

We went here Saturday morning (no not because we were on our way to Porto's), but to get the rest of K's costume, which is a bald cap, a gold hoop earring and some adhesive for his 'soul patch'... (wonder if you can take a guess of what he is going to be)
They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable here. It was a quick and efficient stop. They guy helping us gave us the 411 on bald cap application and helped us find a perfect faux earring.
We looked around a bit at the rest of the store, but we are more of the "do-it-yourself" costumers, rather than purchasing complete costumes.
They had a lot of neat synthetic body parts and a cute little book section.
It wasn't a complete zoo, which we were completely grateful for. Thanks for their quick service, we made it to Ohana's in time for some Moco Locos. Yum!

Can we cancel Christmas already and have two Halloweens? Anyone? This place is by far the BEST Halloween store with the most treats I have ever entered. Seriously, I would have paid an admission just to browse. The inside is designed as though it is a haunted house and it works. Check out the brilliant old time photos change as you walk past and for you ladies that like to look...ummm, what's the word? Oh, whorish on Halloween, simply head upstairs for all your sexy needs. Plus, the staff was spooky friendly. I don't do drugs, so when I return and drop stupid coin that will be my excuse. And I so will.
Maybe lose Easter as well. Freak bunny with eggs? Yeah, that's what Jebus had in mind.

If you're looking for weird odds and ends or Halloween attire, head here. The doll who owns and runs the store, her name escapes me, is a peach. She's so nice and helpful. Everytime I use to go here with my buddy Steve, I seriously had a hard time not walking out with something of the macabre. Think I'm kidding? No, I came very close to buying an expensive Dr. Satan bust. That right there, should tell you about the kind of stuff you'll find.
"We like to get fucked up, and do fucked up shit"
"yeah, I bet you do"
I effing LOVE halloween. if i could decorate and dress up for it every day of the year, i would. luckily HALLOWEEN TOWN exists for those who are just like myself. even if i didn't live just around the corner, i would be tempted to stop in quite often and find something new for myself or my apartment just because the place is really THAT cool. open *almost* 365 days a year, you can usually always find what you're looking for. whether it's a haunted mansion door piece, new pair of fishnets, frankenstein t-shirt (they have the best selection of horror shirts), the ghastly ones 7", or an actual halloween accessory, you can most likely find it here.... without extremely marked up prices.
and yes, the owner jackie is a real doll.
slugs and kisses
UPDATE.......
Visited the new store. OMFG! I love it. She has managed to find an incredibly huge venue in Burbank that accommodates her every whim for creepy decorating. My favorite room? The Haunted Mansion Room. Very richly decorated. I want absolutely everything in that room. Aside from the changing pictures on the walls. I already have them. Next to that room is the cemetery. I REALLY want the thunder and lightning set up she has in that room. And the tombstones aren't too shabby either!
It is truly a pleasure walking through it. Go!
I love this place so much I am on her mailing list so I never miss anything!
Check out the upstairs costumes. I have found a few gems in between the duds more than once.
The horror!!
So I'm a huge fan of horror and this place is visually beautiful. There are a few lovely knick-knacks to decorate your abode with. The possessed pictures being my favorite. The tombstones being my second favorite. If you crave a morbid decor they have many surprises waiting. The skull salt and pepper shakers are so much fun! The metals signs are also a fun accessory for your office or den. And....this might be just me but I believe everyone should have a haunted mansion plaque hanging somewhere in their homes....okay I think that IS just me.
I'm also on the lookout for funeral car stickers or funeral flags but I haven't asked her if she would keep her eyes open for those yet. She is so accommodating that she will do searches for customers that can't find certain items and I think that is rare.
Also, if you can, get on her website to search ahead of time. That totally works for me.
