10 reviews for Halloween
halloween is absolutely stunning -- in all regards. there is hardly a sign out front, and if you're not sure where you're going, this shop is very easy to miss.
once buzzed in, you enter a veritable labyrinth of beauty -- every square inch is magic. it honestly is a bit overwhelming at first, and i've spent countless hours in there just browsing.
the staff is super friendly + i really just love to go look through the treasures. probably the most incredible shop i've ever stepped foot into.

I am not a jewelry person, and needless to say I was dreading the shopping for an engagement ring.
I came here on a not-so-subtle suggestion of my fiance, and I must say, I am glad she pointed me here.
Henry met with me for a good hour as we went over a number of stones, and showed remarkable patience as I tried to explain exactly what I wanted.
and it came out perfect, 100% perfect.
I'm still not a jewelry man, but I am a Halloween man. For the intrepid or the timid shopper, this is the place. I will only come here from now on.
Almost invisible from the outside, when you enter it's like opening the door to a sparkly geode cavern! Halloween is the most amazing jewelry store I've ever seen in my life. It's almost overwhelming how much they have to chose from. Plan on the first visit being a sort of acclimation to get over the magnitude and beauty of the place. All of the people who work there are super friendly and will talk to you in great detail about their signature custom jewelry by Henri David. About 40% of what they have available is custom-made and they are very willing to create new pieces based on anything you envision. Life will not be complete until you go to Halloween.

Henri David is an awesome guy and the pieces he has for sale in the store are amazing.
But I would seriously caution anyone against having him do any custom work for you if you want it done quickly. After hearing several raves about Henri, I had him design my engagement ring. It came back a shoddy mess several times. After the third time I sent it back, I was getting pretty disappointed. He told my fiance' that he would just start over with the ring. The 4th time, it came back PERFECT. It was exactly what I had asked for. Henri was relentless in his desire to see me happy with the ring. He refused to let us pay a dollar more for it, and his customer service was second to none.
There are several reviews on Citysearch that provide a more accurate review of his work that I would suggest any buyer read before getting any custom work done because his work is not for the impatient.
But given his dedication to his customers, I would most definitely go back.
Even if you do not consider yourself a jewelry fan you should check out Halloween. I am a huge jewelry fan and I nearly cried when I first went into this shop. It is both overwhelming and breath-taking and filled to the rafters with shiny bits of perfection. Henri David takes inspiration from everything and personally shops for his gems. He has made the wedding and engagement rings for at least half a dozen couples that I know and each ring is different and beautiful. I wish I was there right now, and I also secretly wish that I was his apprentice....
And they DO NOT take credit cards, cash (and maybe check) only.

Walking into Halloween can be pretty intimidating the first time, it sort of makes you feel like a virgin on prom night and a bull in a China shop all wrapped up into one being. First, you must be buzzed in to a nondescript entrance that makes you second guess that you're even in the right place. Once inside you will be met with columns of pearls and cases full of precious metals and gemstones. The staff immediately quash any uncertainty you may be feeling with their welcoming, sweet natures. They are all very knowledgeable and seem to treat everyone the same, regardless of what the customer looks like.
My engagement ring and wedding band are from Halloween. Both were custom made by Mr. Henri David. He worked with my husband to mold an old ring into my engagement ring and it turned out beautifully. He was also very patient with us when we were picking out our wedding bands, as we are both pretty clueless when it comes to jewelry. Skip the mall jewelry stores and go support an amazing and unique establishment.
And don't forget to check out the many cases of animal themed jewelry. My husband snagged a rat brooch for me for my 30th birthday and it's adorable.

it's like walking into wonka's factory, but only for adult women. this place is RIDICULOUS.
i walked passed it several times before i realized that the little card in the window indicated that it was indeed "halloween". on the outside it's a pretty plain building but inside my mind was blown. two levels crammed full of the most fantastic jewelry and trinkets you could ever hope to ogle in one place. henri david is known for both his genius with jewelry and his annual halloween bash...check out both. the other salespeople are patient and knowledgeable and one even talked me out of buying something bc he thought i'd be over-accessorizing for my wedding. honest salespeople= A+. they do custom work (he did my engagement ring) and can re-work old stuff as well.
seriously, go here and blow your paycheck right now.

This is my favorite secret spot in the city. You'd miss this jewel of a store if you didn't know it was already there. I went for the first time after hearing that he designs jewelry for Stevie Nicks, and was instantly overwhelmed at the bi-level walk-down, which is full of cases and cases of jewelry designs by Henri David. The store itself is also pretty overwhelming, decorated with life sized statues of men, women and gargoyles.
After browsing at the ring cases, my eye caught this art-deco inspired cocktail ring, and after waiting for a while to get a look at it (there were only 3 employees in the store, including Henri David), Henri spent some time with me talking about the design and his inspiration. I looked at the price tag, $270 -- reasonable for 18k gold and black onyx, but wasn't set on having a gold piece. Henri told me that anything in the store could be custom made and changed, and I put a deposit on the ring I picked out in white gold, instead of yellow. Although it took close to a month to finish (he had warned me that holidays would back him up), I am in love with this unique ring, and really impressed with the craftsmanship. Spending $270 on a ring is quite a splurge for me, but I will definitely be back and would recommend this store to anyone I like -- just don't get the same ring as me.

I lived right down the street from this hidden treasure trove for years before I figured out where it was. Halloween is a jewelry lover's paradise, with case after case of fantastic finds. Many are antiques, and all are items you won't find almost anywhere else. They even do custom work, including redesigning your existing pieces into something more "you." (Hint: take that pile of baubles granny left you over there and modernize them.) I only wish they had longer hours, as I often miss my window of opportunity to browse.

Look for the little orange card in the window and follow the directions to get buzzed into a hidden magical world of sparkliness. Wide range of jewelry in some gorgeous settings and cases. I've only browsed but the salespeople have always been perfectly nice.
