1 review for Hall of Fame Hot Dogs and Wings
This is a fairly new sports bar specializing in hot dogs and wings, northwest of Miami Lakes. It is at the intersection of Miami Gardens Drive, Galloway Road and I-75, in a shopping center on the northwest corner.
It has the usual sports memorabilia here and there, plasma televisions all over and a couple of "over-the-top" touches, like ballpark-style seating on one wall, and a football gridiron painted on the floor.
A quarter of the menu is devoted to hot dogs. The owner is from Chicago, so naturally they specialize in the Chicago-style hot dog, with the authentic condiments. The poppy-seed roll and the all-beef hot dog are from Vienna Beef in Chicago, to add to the authenticity. I had one, and give it a thumbs-up, although the mustard should be on the dog, not the vegetables. I am sure they will accommodate that request! Numerous other traditional and non-traditional toppings are available. The 24 recommended combinations are all $3 total.
There are Buffalo-style wings in three heat levels; BBQ, Teriyaki, Honey Garlic and Coconut wings are also available. The pricing varies with the quantity ordered, ranging from 6 for $5 to 100 for $54.
A variety of the customary sports bar fried food snacks is available, such as poppers, fries (both sweet potato and regular), shrimp, cheese sticks, zucchini, etc. The highest priced item on the menu is the rib platter for $16.
Some sandwiches are made here too. Amongst them are grilled or deep-fried fish and grilled chicken breast. To my delight, I noted that they serve three Chicago favorites: Italian Beef, Italian Sausage and Italian Beef & Sausage Combo.
I had a Chicago Hot Dog, French Fries and jalapeno "poppers". All were good. The fries are the kind with bits of peel on them, for more flavor. The poppers were mild, with a rich cheesy interior and a golden crunch exterior. I am going to return to try more menu items, and base upon what I have seen so far I recommend it if you want to watch a game, or are in the mood for the food described.
