Overall: A bad place to go for a book hoarder!

This half-price book store is far better stocked than the Crossroads, Bellevue store. It has a large selection, is organized, spacious and feels like an old library!

I can spend hours in here! Be sure to check out the bargain/clearance section starting from $1.00! It's a great place to pick up new/used books, music, magazines and movies etc at a good price.

The bad side to this place is that I always end up going home with more books than my bookshelves can hold at home! Damn you half-price books!

An excellent discount used and new bookstore.  Compared to other HPB stores this one seems a little smaller - but they still keep up a great selection.  Staff is always friendly and most of all they are all bookworms.

They must have a really good hiring process because really I am impressed with their staff all the time.

Check out their laserdiscs!  Sometimes they sell out, but they have them by the LPs.  I found a great laserdisc set about mythology - I was like 'sweet beans'!  If you dont have a laserdisc player then what is wrong with you? get one on craigslist it is way worth it better then bluray i think.

I have been to all the Half Price Books in Western Washington State and I do think this is the best one. It's located in a big brick building. There are two floors of books and they are organized. It's clean and easy to find what you are looking for.

A good used book store. Like any used book store, the selection is hit and miss at any given point in time, especially if you are looking for something special. But overall, a good selection and very good prices.

This store, the Redmond, store is even bigger and better stocked than the Bellevue store (by me). I was especially impressed with their old magazine and journal collection upstairs.

I don't feel like describing this place like people have.  Here's a Haiku!
Two levels cramed here,
Full of books and DVDs.
Parking Really Sucks.

Yeah, that's my 2 cents.

Great place to buy gifts for people without spending the higher retail price. They have a great childrens' book section. Plus the staff is usually helpful and friendly.

Good For: kids books

I love half-price books, but it concerned me that when my dad and I asked them where the cut came out of (ie, who's making less from these low prices? the author? the publisher? the distributor?), they didn't have an answer. It sort of worried me. Where do the books come from? Do the authors see a penny from Half Price Books?

This is my FAVORITE book store. I shop here weekly and I always end up buying something. The best part is I never spend too much because everything is ATLEAST half of the publishers price. However, I have grown cheap in my old age and wont spend more then $5 or $10 on a book. I always hit the clearance section first. There are some great deals in there. I have also sold this store many of my used books and they give you a pretty good return on your money.

I have a love affair going on with this Half Price Books. While all stores in this chain are fantastic, this one boasts special appeal for me since it isn't in the main thoroughfare and it has an old-world creaky feel to it. The staff are anything but angsty yet also uninvasive as you sit on the floor to read. An added bonus are the late hours - 10 PM!
