I grew up in Kokomo and still have family there, so every trip home to Kokomo we eat at least once (or more!) at Half Moon. The handcrafted beer is the real deal. The Kokomonster was an impressive brew and paired well with a plate of pulled pork. Definitely a Kokomo must-do. Skip the chain restaurants and support your local businesses, especially one as great as Half Moon!

Pretty descent BBQ (good, not great). Portions are re-DIC-ulously large.  Don't get the "hearty" portion unless you want to eat for 3 people.  Seriously.  I got the pulled pork on recommendation from many here on Yelp.  It was tasty.  My wife got the brisket and it was very beefy & smokey. Not bad.  My sides were mashed potatoes & gravy (real potatoes, not instant) & some creamy corn casserole.  It was good, despite my recollection of what it was, exactly.  :/

There were TV's everywhere! My 4 year old son was in a daze the whole time.  So it's distracting (which can be good AND bad).  Not too loud by any means, & we were there around 6pm on Friday evening.  Place had a descent kid's menu and service was very good.  For a last minute decision, I liked the Half Moon.  I'd be back again.

Food is pretty typical. Nothing that I would crave over similar restaurants but the beers are good. I recommend milf n honey wheat ale and the kokomonster

Half Moon never fails to disappoint. I've given this restaurant more chances than I normally would, and each time I have left less than thrilled about eating there.  Tonight was no exception and I will not be returning.

I won't bore you with the details, but the food was mediocre, the beer is FAR from what craft beer should be, and the service is HORRIBLE. thank you for ruining my Valentine's day even though it's really my fault because I chose to go here to begin with.

This could be any chain restaurant.  Had the carbonara w/out chicken (super creamy, but pasta was overcooked).  Came with salad (honey mustard dressing is thick) and bread (love the honey butter).  Tried their sweetest beer (not very sweet).

Surprisingly cheap (under $30 for 2 ppl!?!?!)

Very good and affordable food. I don't drink beer so I can't comment.

The service is hit or miss. Often times the misses come with bigger parties.

I highly recommend the pulled pork- in my opinion the best in the state. Also the fish and chips are very delicious!

Come during their early bird (I believe 4-6pm daily) for a steal: 2 meals for 13.99?!?!

So I went there on the advice of the front desk agent from the hotel who said I had to try their pulled pork, and she was right, it was pretty decent.  Unfortunately I also tried their brisket and I did not think it was very good at all.  The beers were good and the bartenders were very helpful and fun to talk to.  Atmosphere was fun, and the music they were playing last night for some reason seemed to be all 90s themed so it was amusing too.

I am writing this review to say thanks for the great time we had at our Indiana Wedding Reception on Saturday August 6th. My wife and I are originally from Nashville, TN but most of my extended family live in Indiana. We decided to have a wedding celebration party in Indiana so we could celebrate with family. We both thoroughly enjoyed our time at Half Moon. It was recommended by my Aunt who lives in nearby Greentown. It was a great selection. They have a fairly large size private room just off the main entrance that was perfect for our approx. 50 person event. The service from our two dedicated servers was excellent. The food was very good too. I had the New York Strip steak as did most people from what I saw. The beers were pretty good from what I recall. I had  the KokoMonster and the Stoplight City Red. Anyway, just would like to say thanks and we would recommend this as a place for a good meal and a great opportunity to taste some micro brews in a part of the world were I wouldn't except some decent craft beers. Thanks!

As a vegetarian, I couldn't experience the restaurant's specialty: steak. From those I was with, I ascertained that the steak was great and the beer was okay. I had the salmon, of which they offered many different varieties of.

The atmosphere is great here, with televisions, pool tables and a very friendly waiting staff. I recommend it for a group meal.

One of my favorite places to eat. Just had the St Louis ribs Friday and they were good.I suggest the baked sweet potato. Big booth seating.wonderful menu. Clean restrooms. Mild to moderate diarrhea afterwards

Kokomo needs more of this type of place. Half Moon Brewery and the Sycamore Marketplace are/were the coolest places to hang out in Kokomo. Unfortunately I heard the Marketplace closed.

I have only been in the evening to check out the beer selection and to hear some live music. Like normal - I ordered the beer sampler so I could try everything. Overall it was pretty tasty.

Great place to have some beers and check out local bands.  Support this place, we don't want to lose all the chill live music spots.

Ate at Half Moon last Saturday night and thought it was pretty darn good. My husband and I thought we'd give it a try since we've never heard of it in Michigan. It was pretty busy and we sat at the bar waiting for our table and ended up just staying there and watching the football game. We had a few pretty good Margherita's considering it's a brewery. The bartender Erin did a a great job handling the bar and taking food orders at the bar. The other bartender (forgot her name) was also very friendly & did a good job. I ordered the flat iron steak and it was awesome, so much my husband kept trying to steal mine. He ordered the sirloin which he thought tasted good, but just like mine better. The guys sitting next to us said they loved the pulled pork. It did look good when they brought their's out. Overall I thought it was a great experience if you enjoy a brewery type of atmosphere. We'd go there again over all the chain restaurant's that surround it!

Half Moon opened about the same time I moved to Kokomo and it's been a favorite place since.

The service often leaves something to be desired, especially for large groups. But you'll be hard-pressed to find something bad on the menu. In fact, the steak is great though I personally prefer the pulled-pork sandwich with smokey BBQ sauce. Do get one of the microbrews. There's quite a few to choose from and they're all good, so you'll probably find one to match your taste.

Unfortunately prices are a bit higher than one might expect, but the good food is mostly worth it.

The sports bar vibe is unmistakable, as there is a big screen anywhere you look but probably not many customers watching.

From the outside, the restaurant is a very large, but unspectacular building. Nothing really sets it apart from the rest of town. Inside, they've done what they can. Typical brewery decorations, big rooms, and huge tables. Not too shabby.

I actually really enjoyed the food here more than I was expecting to. They serve barbecue, which has been cooked low and slow in their own spice rub, and they serve it with their homemade barbecue sauce. The ribs and brisket need the sauce, and with it they are decent. But the real star of the show is the pulled pork. It's so good, the sauce is unnecessary! They also bring in thick sliced potatoes every morning and fry up their own potato chips. They are also delicious. In fact, for some reason you have to upgrade to French fries. Do yourself a favor and stick with the chips! The homemade cheesecake was unspectacular but good. The homemade bread pudding with porter praline sauce and cinnamon ice cream, however, was indeed spectacular. The dessert itself wasn't as custardy as I like, and it seemed to be baked from scratch instead of from pieces of bread soaked in custard, but it was still yummy.

The beer is forgettable, but it does have one star. The IPA is copper-toned with a highly fruity taste and finish. The bitterness is subtle, the malts shine, and I could drink it all day. For those who are new to microbrews, the Pre-Prohibition Pilsner and Wildcat Wheat taste identical, and reminds me of a high class Bud. The Stoplight city Red and Old Ben Brown are both sweet and make very good session beers, but taste just like every other red and brown I've ever had. The same can go for the Coal Porter, although this is the one I would choose if they ran out of IPA. The seasonal of the day was both a German Weiss and a an Applewood ESB. The ESB was better than everything but the IPA. The German Weiss was forgettable, but apparently made exactly like their regular wheat except for the hops and yeast strain, which makes it a great learning experience to taste the difference between the strains.

Absolutely amazing service. I loved our waitress. She tried to get me a mug club mug to go, but they were running low. She suggested the cinnamon ice cream to go along with the bread pudding, and it made the dish. She was chatty, friendly and kept our glasses full at all times.

I'd definitely come back here again and again if I lived a bit closer.

The first couple times I went I did not like the place. I will admit I do not like the beer. It is room temp and not pleasant. However, the food has improved and my last time there was great.

I visit here at least 5 or 6 times a month.  Excellent seasonal beers.  Their weekly food/beer pairings have all been great!  I would like to see them add pizza to the menu though.

Best restaurant in Kokomo.   Outstanding microbrews including seasonal specials.   Food has always been great.
