Ken, I wanted to take this opportunity say your Cafe is the best on Main St. Great food and outstanding desserts Oh my god this is a great place to meet for coffee or breakfast and even for lunch. The staff is outstanding.
Thanks

I can not believe this place only has 3 stars! And I was literally appaled that someone took sneaky cell phone pics of the worker there and posted it as "rude cashier boy." That's effing rude and nasty!
Anyways,
This is my favorite cafe. I love to go on long drives with my man and we always end up stopping by here and grab a coffee and dessert. We do occasionally order meals here too. I always get the monkey mocha (chocolate with banana syrup latte) and usually get the cheesecake. I got blueberry cheesecake last time and my boyfriend got the caramel butterscotch cheesecake. We couldn't decide whose was better :)
And let me just say that I've worked at Starbucks for SEVEN YEARS and the boy labeled as "rude" in those photos was the one that made our coffee and he was so good I went up to him and said "I worked at Starbucks for 7 years and you make the best lattes, seriously." He is a little socially awkward (like too shy to take a compliment...that's cause he's probably used to crazies that take pics of him and post it on the internet, rather than a customer giving an honest compliment) but I would surely have him make our beverages again.
Half Moon Bay Coffee Co has a great location, hella amazing desserts, and a unique homey vibe. Try for yourself. -

I have to say I'm sad to see all these negative reviews regarding the HMBCC, because most of the locals enjoy this place, although we do tend to say clear of this place on the weekends when all the tourist are in town.
Most people frequent their breakfast's, consider having their all year around Pumpkin Pancakes, or a great brkfst wrap, or any good'ol hardy breakfast dish really. They have great house potatoes and make sure you order your bacon crispy otherwise it will come out a little limp, reminds me of the bacon in Italy, but Italians like it that way, us Americans, like our bacon a little bit more crispy.
They also have plenty of baked items in their glass case, muffins, croissants, and breads. They have bottom-less self serve drip coffee typically providing 3-4 different flavors. (I'm now a Starbucks snob, so I have to admit, I'm not a fan of HMBCCs drip coffee anymore) but I do like their Chai Tea or Specialties Coffee you order from the barista, but if you are a drip person, you might find yourself disappointed.
For lunch, they have great burgers, sandwiches, salads, or soups and if you like crispy fries, ask for them extra crispy, that's what I do, sorry, I like crispy fries. Their burgers are cooked well, juicy, and a decent size, they have all sorts of combinations. They also have a taco salad which would catch anyone off guard, but it's basically ground up hamburger on top of a salad with salsa, gauc, cheese, and sour cream, than they have these homemade chips they serve with it, it's pretty tasty, but don't expect your typically taco salad, otherwise you'll be let down.
The locals love coming to the HMBCC, we enjoy running into other locals, we enjoy sitting outside because it is dog friendly, we enjoy being recognized by the staff. They have free WiFi so you can come down grab breakfast or lunch, work on your laptop, read a book, or just chit chat with others. It's a locals place, we are not in a hurry, we are kicked back, we are sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful HMB weather, and enjoying being out in our little town, maybe that's why the tourist are rating this place lower... -

Coffee, coffee and coffee! That's what u smell when u come thru the doors.. This half moon bay shop has become a premier establishment! Their coffee is fresh and aromatic, their specialty drinks are a good departure off any Starbucks concoction, and they have a full blooded breakfast menu,..(that was a weird sentence) I would definitely come back again..!!

This place is a find. I love to come here and sit at an outdoor table on an "Indian Summer" autumn day with my coffee and a friend or a good book.
HMBCC makes an amazing borgia and, as a breakfast lover, I can recommend having breakfast with that coffee. The pumpkin pancakes with pecan syrup are a must. The pumpkin bread is tasty as are all of their confections in the glass case. The hot teas are brewed with real pieces of dried fruit in the tea leaves. I am almost all compliments. The only thing I can say to avoid is their soy milk. It looks curdled in your coffee - it isn't, but still looks unappealing and is chunky in your drink.
All in all, I frequent this coffee shop often. See you there? -

Had a black tea with steamed milk (I wanted a tea latte but there wasn't one on the menu). Lady suggested a bit of vanilla syrup and I agreed. For $1.25 it was a steal and perfect for the cold day.

Gross!!! Disgusting!! So disappointing! Do not come here EVER!! I am so outraged, that I feel obligated to write a review!
I took a lovely drive along the ocean all the way from SF, and was feeling terrifically well - it was one of these flawless days that make Northern California worth all the earthquakes.. I felt happy and tired from the sun and the ocean, and really just wanted a simple, fresh and delicious lunch. Seems easy, doesn't it?! Anyway, I should have checked Yelp before stopping here!
The whole experience here was bad bad bad!! The service was slow (I waited for EVER), the coffee was bitter, and the veggie wrap was entirely REPULSIVE. It's closer to a soggy re-heated veggie burrito, full of rice and precooked vegetables.. Am I mistaken in expecting it to be at least SOMEWHAT fresh??!! Oh, and speaking of fresh... Do not, EVER get the green salad side! The salad was limp, and the tomatoes, cucumbers and onion had that dull opaque surface texture of something chopped and stored for more than a day... I've never seen anything like it!! Ewwww...
And!! This really outraged me - an inedible wrap and a bad cup of coffee cost $17!! How is this reasonable? There was NOTHING enjoyable about the meal or the experience!
HATED it. -

I have to agree with the last reviewer, how the heck can this place only get 3 stars...the food is excellent, the porition sizes are great and they have great coffee...along with bottomless refills and flavored coffee. Great spot, do not let that 3 star fool you. Sometimes it does great very crowded, that is my only negative, but everything on the menu is great.

Came in for a quick cup. The interior is nice with plenty of tables to sit at and surf the free wifi... Plenty of parking and there are a few seats outside when the weather is nice...
It's a fill your cup service with a few different types of java to choose from. If you are used to Xbucks or Peets, you'll probably be a little disappointed with this coffee. Mine was a little 'light', not a lot of flavor, especially if your used to drinking Peets...
They did have a nice selection of breakfast pastries and breads to choose from.
With Peets a block away, I know where I'll be going next time I'm in town. -

2011-08-20: we are camping down the road @ Francis Beach. My mother in law came to spend the day with us. She surprised us with pieces of coconut cream, hawaiian dream and chocolate cloud. If that was not to be filling enough; two jumbo snicker doodles.
We are from just over the hill and frequent this venue. Everything is made in house and is delicious!! We come to fulfill our craving for sweets and not for the customer service and therefore are never disappointed!
Try it, you'll like it !:-) -

For the past three years I've worked less than 100 yards from this place, and probably average a visit every 1-2 weeks. It's safe to say I've been there at least 75-100 times, mostly for breakfast. The Coffee Co is one of the only places you can get a real breakfast on the go. They're best value is definitely the breakfast rice at (currently) $3.25, which is an awesomely unique (and large) blend of fried rice, bacon and eggs.
My tried and true order consists of the veggie breakfast wrap, no potatoes. It is a well-prepared combination of eggs, spinach, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese in a spinach tortilla. AMAZING!
My other favorite is their Greek wrap. Chicken, kalamata olives, feta, and some other stuff lightly sauced with an incredible mint basil dressing!
Anyway, I'm not sure where all the "hate" is coming from for this place. Maybe it's primarily tourists having a one-off bad experience on an over-crowded weekend (I stay far away from HMB on the weekends), but the locals, on the other hand, practically live here.
I start a new job in Marin next week, so sadly I will not be able to make the short walk over to the Coffee Co. I will be, however, ordering a veggie wrap as soon as I submit this review! -

Came here for the first time this past Saturday with my in-laws. The place was pretty busy at 3pm, but I think it was mostly tourist. Their regular coffee is self serve, so you could actually sit there all day and get your money's worth. I had a half BLTA w/ fries and the in-laws had pastries. My sandwich was decent and they seemed to enjoy their pastries as well. I think everything came to about $22 and some change, which is okay for the cost. The in-laws treated, so I think I liked my food even more!!!
Will be back eventually, I'm sure. -

They were out of chai & caramel flavoring. Kind of disappointing considering those are two things you can store without going bad. Apparently since it was Sunday they had run out over the weekend. Lots of seating and free WiFi. The pastries looked awesome. Many pies, cakes, muffins & breads. Overall, a decent experience but I was looking for something a bit more cozy.

Stopped at this place for lunch after hiking along the coast for my mom's 50th birthday.
First off, they got orders wrong. My order was supposed to come with coleslaw, but I got fries. The only reason my girlfriend got the sandwich she ordered was because they had to come clarify something, otherwise she would have gotten something that she can't eat.
Second, the service wasn't that good. Our "waiter" was barely audible, we had to really strain to hear and to understand him. Also, it seemed to take forever to just get the sodas we ordered, let alone our food.
Thrid, the prices are crazy!! There wasn't a single sandwich that was under $9.45, and you could get coffee cheaper at Starbucks.
And that brings me to the food. The beef in my mom's French Dip was dry, the corned beef in mine and my dad's Reubens was over cooked and there was hardly any Thousand Island Dressing, my girlfriend's Portobello mushroom sandwich tasted like roasted peppers and didn't have much mushrooms, the salad that came with her sandwich was dry and looked like it had been sitting out all day, and the fries that came with our sandwiches were so over cooked that a lot of them were just crispy shells with nothing in the middle.
Over all, I say to avoid this place at all costs. -

Half Moon Bay, CA
Half Moon Bay Coffee Company rightly serves as a gateway to downtown for those heading in for highway 92. I love the location and the outdoor seating. There are great menu choices and a great selection of tea. I stop in for coffee and bulk tea. Nowadays I'm more apt to browse the desserts than partake......though the change in habbit speaks more to my will power than anything negative about the fare. Sometimes parking can be challenging.

We came here with friends before heading off to the beach. The service we received was questionable. The couple we came with had been here before and knew what they wanted, so they walked right up to the order counter and rattled off what they wanted. When the girl at the register asked if we'd be sitting at the same table as our friends we said yes. She wanted our orders too, but as my husband and I had never been here we were still going over the menu and stepped out of the way. She seemed frustrated and told another employee with what seemed like frustration, "they're sitting at the same table as them, but they're not ready yet". I found this strange. The price was a little high for what it was, but still tasty. We would stop in again.

On the sixth day, God created the "Half Moon Bay Coffee Co", and on the seventh day...he rested.
OM-Effing-God the desserts are good here!!!!!!!!
Desserts: As mentioned, the desserts are like healthy chunks of sex that you can eat. Portions are GREAT. Taste is GREAT. Every time I go to HMB, I eat here, drink coffee, then I survey every other coffee dessert shop in the town. NO COMPARISON. How can this place NAIL it, and every other place not get it? I had the Pumpkin Cheesecake, Pumpkin pna cake, Chocolate Bundt, and Oreole Bundt. ALL excellent, but the cheesecake is worth prostituting yourself over.
Coffee: Excellent flavors, and wife like the Pumpkin Latte.
Food: Friends had the Chili, and walking in, guys in front of me raved over the soups.
Staff: Busy, but friendly.
GO HERE, and if you don't like it, let me know, because I need to report YOU to the House Committee on Un-American Activities". -

2 Stars because I was starving and actually finished my plate.
4 Stars for customer service, but that is not edible.
Clearly this is not the place to come for breakfast, maybe just a pastry. I ordered the Ham and Eggs and it came with the most greasy, almost undercooked hash brown I've ever had. Eggs were the best thing on the plate, but not great. I added salt which I absolutely never do but in this case very necessary. And the ham steak didn't even look close to quality, not even as good as the ham steaks that you'd buy at the grocery store. Lastly my vanilla cappuchino was too sweet and lukewarm. It is a coffee house, right??
My friend treated me to breakfast for a past dinner that I had made so I did not tell her how I really felt. I thought that was sweet of her, but I feel like I need a do over. Anyway, she ordered the pumpkin pancakes that came with this delicious pecan syrup. They didn't look like any pancake that I had ever seen. It was like an orange mass of rubber, but they were big, pumpkin colored and fluffy looking. She ate them but when I had a taste, I could not believe they managed to mess up a pancake, especially with pumpkin. It was bland, kind of soggy tasting and left a chemically after taste in my mouth. I'll even eat a frozen EGGO from the grocery store, that is how much I love waffles, pancakes and french toast, but these were bad and sadly disappointing.
I would not recommend this place for any meal or coffee.
Sorry guys but there is no excuse to accomplish a basic breakfast meal. -

This one gets a 5 star from me! We head there every time we got to Half Moon Bay. They have a large menu with lots of good stuff, but we go for the pastries!! They have a HUGE selection of pastries to choose from, here's just a few:
- Carmel chocolate crunch
- Chocolate cloud
- Bundt cakes - lemon, oreo, chocolate, etc.
- Pineapple upside down cake
- Pies, pies pies!!!!
- Lemon bars
- And lots more
All of the pastries are in a windowed cabinet for you to look at and choose your favorite. I've yet to go anywhere else ever that had a selection like theirs - we'll be forever fans!! -

Good selection. I generally get the Thai Veggie Burger Wrap, which isn't outstanding but is still good. I really love their pasta salad though and gave gone just to get it.
I've tried their mocha, which was burnt and horrible, so I threw it away and haven't tried it since. I'm thinking about giving it a second chance though.
Atmosphere is nice and friendly. It could do with a few couches, but the outdoor seating makes up for that. Generally has good lunch crowd. They've recently upped their prices though, and I'm not sure if you're getting what you pay for anymore, especially since the service is a bit slow. -

Four YUMs: Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, Yummy.
Those of you who have read my Yelpings know that I've got the gourmand version of Tourette syndrome: I spontaneously burst into food and restaurant recommendations.
I will break down here and tell you one of my guilty pleasures (it's a food item). My favorite breakfast is a bagel with cream cheese... and BACON! And I will drive to Half Moon Bay just for their Whole Wheat bagel with cream cheese and BACON! (Well, okay, I only live 15 minutes from Half Moon Bay.)
They also have loose-leaf tea (ah, the sign of civilization!), and a case filled these cute 20,000 calorie mini-bundt cakes. (None of which I've ever tried... [after all, I'm already calculating how many stair master hours I'm due for after my bagel with cream cheese and BACON].)
The only drawbacks are:
1. It gets crazily busy on weekends. Like line out the door. (Heck, at least you know it's good if people like it, right?)
2. They have styrofoam coffee cups. Not that I'm some super-liberal recycle Nazi (okay, I did go to Berkeley...), but beverages taste so bad coming out of styrofoam. (And yes, I feel so guilty once I'm done and put it in the trash container... Well, what's 10,000 years in a landfill for a good breakfast?)
3. Bring your sun glasses! (On those rare days it's sunny in Half Moon Bay.) This place is 3/4 big windows, which I love! (Open, airy, architecturally interesting--great for people watching.) The drawback? Beams of death bouncing off of all the chrome!
4. Bathroom not always clean. In fact, sometimes downright, "Ooh, ick." -
Review from Dan B.
An attractive, clean coffee house/restaurant taking full part in the hallowed tradition called "fleece the tourists." The wife and I had the weekend off from the kiddies and stopped here to pick up some lunch on the way to our hike nearby. We ordered a smoked turkey and "pepper slaw" sandwich to go. Price was $9.45 so we decided to split it, figuring for that price it would be huge, delicious, unique, and maybe even be on homemade bread (?!).
We were wrong. What we got was a stingy quantity of processed turkey on store-bought wheat bread with plain-ass cole slaw. Presented for our...uh, convenience in a gigantic styrofoam clamshell container. They were nice enough to add corn chips on the side, but these were very stale and oily.
$9.45 for something we could have made better at home for $2.50?? = RIPOFF
The hike was glorious though. -

Review from Flor D.
I wanted to like this place...I really did. Stepped in, after passing up on another really good cafe, thinking there was going to be something better out there for me. Lesson learned-go with your GUT! The guy behind was super nice. He gave me fresh "tasters lite brew," which kept me awake all night! I had not had coffee in months...and this stuff was like liquid fuel. I ordered a slice of pear pie...which was just pears and a little ol' bitty crust. I wanted the chocolate cloud cake, but was not sure of it's ingredients, so I played it safe. All wrong...too healthy. I wanted something sweet and chocolaty. Either way, dog friendly, outside tables, read your book-but not for too long-hard chairs no sofas.
Props to the Latin guy working the pastry counter. Nice guy...but he did not know anything about the sweets. OH YEAH...Per my cousin...stay away from the scone! -

Pathetic is the only word for their "mocha" and the word travesty only skims the surface of their customer service.
It looks like a day care when I was there one Saturday morning. Kids that couldn't put a hat on straight, girls with more lip rings than brain cells. They were writing orders on a piece of scrap paper then handing them off. But no one went to make my drink because some poster girl for birth control was going on and on to her co-workers about what would happen to them if they touched her bagel. I guess the theft of bagels is a top crime in HMB.
After a while of no less than 5 people being behind the counter and not one of them working, I finally asked if my drink was ready. Then, after being ripped away from their important discussion about bagel ownership they finally lifted a finger.
Also, no foam/no whip usually mean no foam/no whip. Touching back to the girl with a lip ring to brain cell ratio of 2:1, this was obviously above her and not something she learned in what I guess pass for public education around here. I wonder what the educational world is doing for the children of San Mateo County. *shudder*
While their mocha's were bad, the hot chocolate was equally pathetic. I am only left to believe that this is the training ground for future Coffee Society goof balls that migrate south. We are all doomed.Listed in: Places that Suck almost as bad…

Dog Friendly - 3
Food - 4
There are tables out front but no welcoming dish of wa-wa for the dogs. Tons of well behaved dogs so you won't be alone.
Food was decent. I had the Mediterranean salad with chicken which had a fab-u-lous home made basil dressing. Treated myself to a slice of home made apricot pie that I later calculated to be 9 weight watcher points...and worth every one.
Lots of free parking in the lot.
Food is decent. Location is great. Check it out.Listed in: Dog Friendly Bay Area

I've been here a few times for breakfast, but that was years ago. I remember it being amazingly yummy. The hot food and the baked goods, both.
Today on my drive back up the coast from Santa Cruz, I stopped at Coffee Company to grab a chai tea (since I don't actually like coffee.) It was a too sweet and a little watery, so I knocked off a star.
I'll have to come back for real food sometime soon! I just love Half Moon Bay. -

Livermore, CA
Disappointed. They advertised a Pumpkin Pie Latte....oooo, that sounds soooo good on a cold day. The wait was long, however forgiven knowing it was busy at the time. It tasted terrible! There was no pumpkin taste at all....just a bitter taste. That cost us 3.95 each!!! WAY outrageous for a SMALL! I believe going to Starbucks would have been cheaper!
Plus, the use of Styrofoam cups was a disappointing to see. Paper cups are more environmentally friendly. They are cutting corners and over charging for coffee. -

San Francisco, CA
Pros:
+ wide dessert/cake selection (I use the word wide because that is what I would be I sampled all the treats I wanted to in the display case...carrot bunt cake, chocolate cheesecake, pumpkin bread..you get the idea).
+ great loose leaf tea selection- and they put an enormous amount of tea in a fairly large steeping bag for each cup...I had the organic Assam tea and really enjoyed the strength of the tea- and I ordered the largest cup possible.
+ friendly staff. The guy behind the counter ended up having his lunch next to my table..and it looked really good (burger and salad). I like when the staff eats their establishment's food
Cons:
- This place is located in a strip mall..(why is there a need for a strip mall in Half Moon Bay?) and the decor looks like a nursing home. The inside could be so much more...but instead it's like being in a run-down diner. I'm not a fan.
- The bathroom is atrocious. I'd rather go to a gas station restroom in my bare feet. -

very very sleepy and one eye still shut.
My BF took pity on me gave me a hug
and said lets get you coffee you need a kick in the butt
I said no no its okay its okay don't worry I'm fine
he said no there's a place down the street and YOU don't worry there's no line.
I smiled with one eye still shut and said I love you my boy
and ya know what in 9 minutes i got my latte with soy!!!!!
We made it over the hill and chatted as I slowly woke up and nursed my tasty hot drink.
and my boy dropped me off early, caffeinated and happy so I gave him a wink ;)
Thanks KMMW xoxo
PS next time I will grab some breakfast at this place too! I really had just one open eye to work with this AM -

I wanted to support the local businesses. I should have patronized the smaller cozier cafes down the streets, but unfortunately it was just about closing time. This place needs a comfy couch and some local musicians and a cleaner bathroom.
Guys at the counter were nice, though had a little trouble dealing with the line efficiently. I am still perplexed how a cafe drink can not come out hot... The espresso has to be hot, the milk has to be steamed... Luke warm lattes, mochas, capps, macchiatos or borgias just doesn't cut it. You are a coffee company after all. -

This place is awesome if you want an insanely huge pastry and a really strong cup of coffee.
This is a great place to stop and split a peace of pie with your honey or sit outside reading while nibbling on a massive (and I mean massive!!) brownie.
The coffee is served quickly and everything is cheap! (massive cookies are only $1).

Its saturday and TB is playing golf with his nephews at the Half Moon Bay Golf Course and since I cant go with him he decided that we meet after.
He knows how bad I am with directions even with a Navi (GPS) so he called me twice just to make sure I got the directions.
He calls me a princess because he knows that I always want to be picked up but given that this is on the other side of our world we have to meet up otherwise we would just be wasting time driving back and forth...so I agreed. I still used my navi system just in case but I still have his directions in mind.
So we met at this coffee shop, and since its a coffee shop although not Starbucks or Peets (which is what im used to seeing in the city SF) you would think that they would serve good coffee...like always thumbs down I wouldnt trade Rahmi's coffee and if I do it would only be for an Americano at Starbucks...there is a queue...and guess why? you have all this people ordering AU LAIT with non-fat s*it...extra foam with and all those whatever 200 directions to give to the barista...I would always say COFFEE is COFFEE...I understand MOCHA and maybe capuccino but c'mon. DULCE DE LECHE, CAFE AU LAIT, LATTE AND MISTO are all the same...of yeah I forgot you make it all diffirent when you order with 2%...non fat...skimmed...soy and all those whatever...seriously COFFEE is COFFEE.
Apparenlty they are known for their dessert...TB had his eye on the SODA ROCKY ROAD...mind you it taste good but not far out....its almost the same as ENTENMANS chocolate cake with small marshmallows on top.
oh and I ordered DRIP coffee and was surpised that their coffee is in this dispensers...like help yourself...serve yourself thingamagigs....even my coffee shop in Mission St doesnt do it that way. Coffee is alright.
Service...yes even with my bf's name they had a hard time saying...seriously?
Its okay, maybe its okay to people from their...but if you leave in the city where you have so many choices even if its mom and pop...this place wouldnt stand a chance.
go ahead check them out...im pretty sure you would prefer the nearest Starbuck's or Peet next time. -

Wowzer - All three of these stars are mostly attributed to their House Mocha - yummy. I tasted chocolate in every sip, without having to continuously stir the drink! Seriously - I think it has an addictive agent because I will consider driving down to HMB during a long lunch break just to have a lil' sumtin sumtin fresh from the coast.
Casual layout with an impressive display of pastries (incl. mini bundt cakes) at the front counter. I practiced some restraint and stuck to my original goal of having a hearty breakfast that involved some kind of potato! The vegetarian omelet with hash browns and wheat toast did not disappoint. Filling portion. The wheat toast was pretty disappointing but hey, nothing a little dab of butter couldn't fix (I guess I was just expecting something a bit more wholesome and nutty and grainy for this place).
Conveniently located right off Main Street in downtown HMB. Pretty crowded for a late weekday breakfast, comprised mostly of locals. Friendly, efficient staff.
Next time, dessert for sure (along with my House Mocha). -

For dessert, coffee, and tea I think this place is decent. We often stop for a pick-me-up on the way out of town after a nice day bike riding on the bluffs.
We ate dinner here tonight and I was really disappointed in the food. I got a taco salad that turned out to be a hamburger patty half chopped up with some canned-tasting salsa & sour cream on top over some greens from a salad pack. It was surreal - at least they could have disguised the hamburger patty a little. It didn't taste like much of anything.
My daughter had a kids' burger and she didn't finish, so on trying it I was surprised to find it was chewy. I don't know what makes a burger chewy but it was not good.
We won't bother with dinner here again but the bundt cakes, brownies, etc. look pretty decadent. Oh, and definitely avoid the bathroom. It's a unisex bathroom that gets way too much traffic. -
Review from Shelley B.
Los Altos, CA
This place is cute and conveniently located, but gets only one star from me. The reason? A coffee shop has just one purpose and that is to make an excellent cup of joe. HMBCC fails at this miserably, in fact, I've never in all my caffeinated wanderings had a *worse* cup of coffee. Its not that the baristas are bad, in fact they were quite pleasant. Its the product, the beans, that are bad.
In addition to getting coffee there, we bought a pound of the chocolate macadamia nut whole beans to go (before tasting the coffee, unfortunately). We later hoped that it would be better than what we had in-store, but when we got home and ground some beans the coffee stunk like rancid fish. I couldn't believe it! The coffee smelled downright offensive and nothing at all like chocolate or nuts. We made one pot just to give it a fighting chance and spit out the first sip- rancid fish again. I have no idea how/why the coffee tastes like that, but man, I will NEVER go back to HMBCC ever again. And I don't blush at drinking gas station coffee or the burnt motor oil my labmates call coffee.
We then ordered from Barnie's coffee online, rush delivery, and brushed our teeth angrily.
