Not only is this sandwich chop delicious, The make some drinks that will knock you down... literally.  I don't know if it was the quality of the ingredients or the perfect flavor ratios, but every one of the sandwiches I've ordered from Half Fast was perfection.  And with the immense selection, I tried a TON of sandwiches.  One of my favorite spring activities was to go to Half Fast and grab a couple pitchers of Strong Islands or Mega-ritasand hang out on the patio.

One of my favorites from school. EVERYTHING is awesome. The selection is beyond huge. They must have close to 100 choices on those boards.

Very crowded, but worth the couple min wait.

Favs:
BBQ Tempeh
Turkey Avacado
Ba-dunk-a-dunk
Tuna Tecate
Roasted Eggplant
there are soooo many.......

and of course... the STRONG ISLAND ICED TEAS. I only made the mistake of getting a second pitcher once....

yes its full of college students and its not rare to see pitchers floating around at noon...its a great place.

This place is so freaking hit and miss.  I guess that is what you get though when the sub shop is being run by a bunch of stoned college kids.  Example, yesterday...went there with two friends to grab a "quick bite."  I order first, pay, then sit down.  My two buddies order after me.  They get their sandwiches, and I don't get mine.  10 minutes pass...  After 15 minutes I ask someone who works there and they say it should be right out.  After 20 minutes I go to the counter and ask for a refund.  Turns out they haven't even started making the sandwich and the crappy-ass counter girl who looked 12 years old wouldn't give me a refund.  I finally get the manager out and he refunds my money and has the gall to ask me if he should cancel the sandwich order.  "No jack off,  I want my damn sandwich!"   5 minutes later they gave me my sandwich.  I sat down at the table (my friends were already done eating), ate my sandwich and it was great.  

Sandwich = good  
Service = Stoners who don't know how to handle "their highs"

I would also like to point out that my buddy ordered a BLT and was shocked at how much bacon was actually on the sandwich.  He literally had to pull out strips of bacon because it was too much.  These guys definitely pile on the ingredients.

Amazing, creative subs and, great veg options! Many vegan choices, and the vegetarian choices can be easily veganized.  The margaritas will eff you up too.

Half-fast (half-assed?) is definitely not that...which makes me wonder, why exactly you would make fun of your business in the name of the place? Funny thing is is that the name actually made me not want to go to this place the first time...but this I soon overcame.

And I am glad I did.

Half-fast offers an amazing sandwich selection in a convenient location on the hill, as well as solid and strong margarita specials which will get you krunked. The vegetarian selection is pretty damn good, and the sandwiches I've had have always been tasty and timely. They also have a nice outdoor seating area which is pretty sweet...sort of. Here is the deal though: I was however once siting outside on the patio eatin' when this crazy dude who was also out there started talking about being in the Wyoming national guard to everyone and how he is going to kick everyone's ass at the tables and what-not - being a real crazy douche-bag drunk who was making everyone's meal uncomfortable - so there is always that contingent to be aware of when eating outside.

If the sandwiches were just a little cheaper I would be all over this place, like stink on shit

This place has the largest selection of subs and salads I've ever seen anywhere. It always wins the "Best of Boulder" awards from the local newspapers and the awards are displayed on the walls. And the awards are justified. Tons of Veggie selections. Killer drinks and beers. Just a minute off campus on the Hill with street or lot parking out front.  If you walk in and there is a line , don't worry it moves real fast. A great lunch or dinner or just a great place to hang out on the deck in the sun and to people watch. Been there a ton of times and I'll Be Back. Great food, name (get it?) and friendly staff.

Hey, I worked here too.  Fancy that.  In writing these reviews, it becomes obvious....oh the places I have worked in Boulder.  Here though, found it confusing to distribute the sandwiches based on playing cards (oh please) and for 5.50 and hour? oh please, but that being said, the sandwiches are delicious and there is a GREAT veg selection so, all you V's come out of the wood works for this one, k?

This is a must-go if you're looking for the true Hill experience. It's got great atmosphere, delicious subs (with a little something for everyone) and some of the best drink specials in town.

That's right, it's a sub shop (which makes a delicious BLT sub, BTW) that sells delicious Long Island Iced Teas by the pitcher. And they're good to the last drop.

Best sub sandwiches and largest variety in Boulder.  Kind of a college hangout.  I've eaten probably 20 different kind of sub sandwiches there and haven't had a bad one yet.  Trom tofu to bbq to cheesesteaks to cold subs to the weird to spicy, you name it, they've got it.

Also pretty good margs.  :)

great selection of subs and drinks. everything always tasted pretty yummy. my only issue with half fast is the employees. there were always kids behind the counter who could care less if there were customers. i can't remember ever being greeted by anyone. but if customer service isn't on the top of your list, then you'll like this shop just fine.
