Mistiq does the best color in town. I've been going to him now for decades. Wonderful group of stylists---friendly and knowledgeable. Perfectly located next door to Whole Foods so lots of parking. Also the best shampoo and scalp massage you will ever have. Elena is amazing.

I found this salon after searching for the best place for blonde colorists in DC. Unfortunately I cannot review the quality of services because I was literally screamed at and chased down the stairs by the owner in a fit of rage. I was told I could come before salon opening if I wanted to settle in before meetings, but bc of work I got there at my exact appointment time (10 am on the dot) which was a HUGE problem for him. He said "Apparently you're not accepting calls" and made a big show of pulling out a phone and calling a number that was out of service. I quietly said that they must have the wrong number and he said that was my fault. I just stood there in shock bc I'd called to make the appointment and provided my number over the phone- so if you have the wrong number, which is more likely- that I forgot my number when providing it, or that the person on the phone wrote it down incorrectly?! But even though I was treated terribly during check-in, I tried to suck it up and make peace with the man. However, he just limply held my hair and stared at me aggressively when I told him about what I wanted. I started to cry bc I was so shocked by all of this behavior and I said I should probably just leave- this threw him in a spiral apparently, and he chased me out. When I tried to tell the man at the front desk I was upset he screamed down the stairs that I was a crazy person?! I hurried out on the street crying. I tried to call and talk about it with them afterwards and was screamed at AGAIN. I've NEVER been treated like that by a service professional in my life. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

I have been coming to Daniel & the Hair Lounge for 10+ years. He is incredible with all things hair. His blonde color in my hair especially is amazing!! I highly recommend his salon--so professional, fun, and energetic. I truly enjoy going to get my hair done each and every time! Best salon in DC hands down!

I had my daughter in town for the Holidays and wanted to surprise her with a good hair cut and style. AfteHair Lounge squeezed her in without any appointment! And she was astatic about her new cut- you can't go wrong with giving them a try! Awesome Experience!

Johannie is the absolute BEST! I am in LOVE with this color! My natural hair texture wasn't compromised with the color process. That's a big deal to me.

I had my first haircut in four months today and it felt SO good! During COVID days it's hard to know where to go - who's actually following strict protocols and who's just saying they are. Since I have been loyal to Mistik (the MOST wonderful stylist and human alive) for over 20 years I had a sense of trust already. But it was the actions that I saw at the salon that put me at complete ease! I watched chairs being cleaned, the sterilizing machine where the scissors are held, my temperature was taken, masks for all, etc... I could not have felt safer to be there or more grateful for their attention to detail!! And my hair is grateful too!!

I love this salon!! I rarely/never take the time to write reviews but this salon is fantastic. Mistik is amazing with color and style. A professional personal stylist recommended him as my blonde was "all wrong" for my coloring. He is kind yet straight forward and decisive. I now get so many compliments on my hair and as a 50+ year old woman that is pretty incredible. My last visit there was after the covid shut down and as a healthcare provider was absolutely amazed at their appropriate and considerate modifications. I felt very comfortable. Fantastic place, warm professional staff and well worth the trip from Alexandria.
