Having recently found out were expecting I wanted to find an organic salon that could provide me with a healthy alternative with out compromising the fun of extreme color. I found exactly what I was hoping for at the hair lair. I was able to make a same day apt for a full color highlights and a cut. I was treated with kindness, a warm cup tea, and one on one personalized service. She listened to my very specific desires regarding cut and highlights and was fast, efficient and considerably less expensive than I was used to paying. I love my color and my hair feels healthier than ever. It's been about a week and the color is still bright and shiny.
Specialties
The Hair Lair is an Onesta Green Certified Salon in the Mission Valley area. This private (by appointment only) hair salon specializes in organic color and I have been honored to be an Organic Salon System Certified Haircolorist.
I also offer natural straightening and smoothing systems by Zerran, and low/no ammonia haircolor by Wella Professional.

History
Established in 2007
As a stylist who developed chronic fatigue syndrome, I was told that of all the foul-smelling chemicals I encountered day in and day out were contributing to my condition. As a result, I decided to go out of the traditional salon and create a better salon environment that was healthier for me and for my customers. I already used low/no ammonia color lines but in 2008 I found Organic Salon Systems, an organic hair color and product line that has no ammonia or other harsh chemical ingredients. The color results were amazing without the bad smell. I was hooked!
Meet the Business Owner: Andrea R.
Andrea is a former hair color educator who has been in the industry for over 15 years. She got her college degree in Psychology and after a brief stint at a woman's shelter, decided to go into a field where she could make people feel good on the inside and out. Its amazing what a great trip to the salon can do for the soul. Andrea loves being in the beauty industry and hopes to continue to strive to have people enjoy their salon experiences with her.
