Thanks, Yelp!  I tried this place based on the reviews and I love it!  Wow!  SO fast and only $7 for a great job!  I had tried eyebrow threading once before moving to Atlanta, paid more than 3x as much and wasn't impressed at all.  That's all changed thanks to Hair Images Salon!

I've been lucky enough to walk right in, so no complaints from me about the wait!  I can see how it can get crazy on weekends.

Be warned, this place is a zoo on the weekends, it doesn't matter what time you arrive.

I don't get any hair ( er, on top of my head) services, only threading and waxing. I won't like and say that everyone is equally good and skilled either. Twice, I got jacked up because I went on the day that my preferred stylist was off. Never again!

Alvira is my go-to girl for threading my brows/sideburns, and waxing my 'stache and beard ( don't judge me, at least I make the effort to reign it in :-/ ). In her hands, I always look great until it's time to see her again.

The key to getting serviced in a reasonable amount of the time is to make an appointment and be ON TIME. Otherwise, you're begging to spend a lot of time waiting.

I've been twice for eyebrow threading, both times as a walk-in. If you go on a weekend, do get there *right* as they open, because the line starts to build up quickly. I did that and waited about 15 minutes; it wasn't too bad.

The receptionists there both times had the people skills of aggressive tortoises, but if you're willing to ignore that, it's not bad. The woman who did my brows today was perfectly cheerful. The only complaint I had was that she did them rather thin and unarched; I don't know how much better it would have been if I had brought in a picture of what I had in mind.

It hurts, but the pain stops more or less as soon as the threader does, and unlike waxing there's no chance of a little strip of skin being ripped off (have had that happen twice; thus the threading). It's worth the $7.

Ehhh.... I don't know.

I called about an hour before I wanted an appointment, and was greeted gruffly and promptly hung up on after I gave my name with no explanation. I figured I could deal with this, the Yelp reviews had warned me, and I was only paying $7. They didn't even ask what service I was making a reservation for, so I hoped that when I arrived I wouldn't be whisked in to some back room for some creepy treatment.

When I arrived, I was a bit late, and told them who I was. Without looking up, the lady muttered "first chair on your right," a chair that was currently occupied. I waited just a few seconds for the client ahead of me to finish up and then Alvira told me to get seated, she'd be right back. I waited a few minutes and surveyed the place. It seemed a little dirty, with errant threads all over the place and old face powder kind of scattered on countertops. Not pretty.

Now, let me tell you about my brows. They are thick, manly, a trait I received from my very well browed father. And you know what? I love them. Sure, they may not be very feminine and they definitely need to be kept under control to keep them from taking over my face, but this is why I get them threaded. Just for control, not to make them look like everyone else's.

Despite me asking to leave them thick, I walked out with generic brows. Boo. Knowing the monsters on my face, they'll grow back in, but I was pretty disappointed, even moreso when I got back to my car and in the natural light could see that they missed some seriously dark and errant hairs. If you're going to be overly thorough in shaping, be sure you get it all!

So yeah, I wasn't too enthused with my experience here. Nothing traumatizing, but nothing eye opening. Although I do look kind of perpetually shocked now that my brows are a little higher on my face.

I'll keep going to I Too in EAV. The lady there even complimented my butch brows.

I don't know how I survived without the threading masters of Hair Images.  I've been going to Spa Sydell for years, getting my eyebrows waxed and spending large amounts of money but at the urging of a girlfriend tried to give this place a chance.

It's been 4 months and I have not looked back.  They are nice and you are in/out so quickly [with appointments].  Usually if you don't have an appointment and go on days to avoid the rush [Fridays and Saturdays] you should not have a problem.

You cannot beat the $7 service either!  If you have not been to this place, don't walk- run there!

I've gone in twice, and wanted to be sure I could write a fair review. The service for brow threading is $7, which you cannot beat anywhere.

I'm very happy with the way my brows came out, but the wait and the environment force me to lower the stars.

Ok, I ONLY thread, I do not wax.  I've been threading for years and used to come here when I lived in Atlanta years ago.  I'm back in ATL for the summer and thought "oh sweet, I can get that cheap, awesome, brow thread from Hair Images again!!"  And then I went there and noticed how everyone in Atlanta thinks like me now.  There's no point in making an appointment, because you will still have to wait (if its after 5pm during the week when most ppl are off work) and frankly I just don't think its worth the wait.  I'm going to start going somewhere else.  Sux, cuz I really wanted to support this Desi salon.

I have been coming here since the day they opened and while the prices for eyebrow threading have gone up from $4 10 years ago to $7 now, and it's still a couple bucks cheaper to go somewhere else, I keep coming back for Alvira. She is awesome. She is always smiling and laughing and knows what she is doing. If you tell her that something didn't get done right, she will fix it, without a fuss.

I used to go to Sana for about 6-7 years but since she is really good at what she does, a lot more people started going to her as well, making her tired and always behind.

Tip: make an appt! If you want to do a walk-in, go on weekday afternoons.

For years, I've been going to a particular salon near my home to get my eyebrows waxed.  While the folks there were nice, I'd have to time my visits right...or the stylish gay Asian dude who normally works the front desk would end up doing my eyebrows.  While he can do a fierce french manicure, I'm convinced he screws my eyebrows up because he doesn't want anyone else to look as good as he does (and yes, he is quite attractive!)  Sooooo, after he screwed up my eyebrows for the umpteenth time...I decided it was time to find a new eyebrow place.  In comes Yelp.  Ended up selecting Hair Images because of the many reviews.  Let's just say...I no longer look like a scared clown.  Sanaa at Hair Images hooked me up, and for only $7 plus tip!

Hair Images is located across the street from a Target and is in the plaza with the Ethiopian restaurant and the Halal food store.  I went on a Saturday at about 2:30...walked in, signed in, and went straight to Sanaa.  I told her it was my first time getting my brows threaded and she instructed me on what to do.  Within five minutes, she was done!  I then paid at the front (and unlike other reviewers, the guy at the front desk was nice when I told him I drove all the way from Douglasville because I heard great things about the place) and I was out in a total of ten minutes!

I will definitely be back in about 2.5 weeks! I highly recommend the place!

As usual, one of my girls let me in on one of her beauty secrets and I was beside myself. Every time I see Felicia (which isn't enough) her eyebrows are chiseled and immaculate. Fee asked me to (for some reason that rhyme made laugh) guess how much she pays for eyebrow threading. Being the novice that I am regarding eyebrow grooming, she was on the floor laughing when my speculation began at $15. When she said $7 I knew I had my new venue for threading. (I actually pay $10 which includes a $3 tip)

Having gone to Hair Images twice now, I think I have learned the trick to scheduling. An appointment is the way to go. If you prefer being a walk-in, I suggest 11 am or 2 pm Tuesday to Thursday. Do not and I repeat DO NOT walk-in Friday through Monday. As you can imagine, the word is out about Hair Images so prime time for them is bananas.

So I finally bit the bullet today and got my eyebrows threaded.  I hadn't let anyone other than myself touch my eyebrows in three years!  The last time I had them waxed, they tore a bit of skin off and...long story short, it ended up being a good thing because it's how I found out I had skin cancer, but ANYWAY, I had sworn off waxing for life.

My boyfriend's sister had mentioned this place to me and told me about threading, and upon seeing just what kind of rave reviews it got on Yelp, I finally went for it today.

Being that I was walking in at 12:30pm on a Friday, I fully expected to wait for a long time, which would have been okay...but to my glee, I was in and out the door within five minutes!  I was astounded.

They really seem to have an efficient system going in order to handle the masses.  The woman at the front desk was able to tell me which seat to go to without evening looking up.  After the two women in line ahead of me, I was seated on the second chair on the right.

I told the woman that I'd never had my eyebrows threaded before, so she showed me how to hold my skin tight as she threaded.  She kindly informed me that I'd been over-tweezing, to which I told her that I'd been stuck on my own in terms of shaping them for three years, so naturally there had been some mishaps along the way.  Other than that, she was very shy and a little awkward.

I'm usually a total wimp about stuff like this hurting, but I was delighted to find that threading didn't hurt a bit!  In fact, it actually felt really cool.  It felt almost like she was merely brushing my eyebrows with a thick comb.  My skin wasn't even red afterwards, which is incredible for someone as pale as I am.

Within a couple of minutes, she was done, and my eyebrows looked fabulous.  The only qualm was that when I got home, I noticed a row of little blonde hairs (I'm a brunette) she had missed in shaping my eyebrows, which I easily tweezed away.  Also, she didn't get any of the little hairs between my brows.

That having been said, I certainly don't mind doing a bit of tweezing here and there in between threads, because believe me, I'll be going back!

Busy busy busy place.....but for a good reason......
I will be quite honest here....if you are looking for a five star fancy foo foo, rose petals on the ground as you walk in salon ...you won't quite get it at Hair Images; however, you will walk out with great shaped eyebrows and a clean and glowing face.  Now ask yourself.... what's more important?  As for the ladies with sensitive skins...i am one of them and threading can be painful and leave me with nics, but after telling the beauticians about being gentle, they have complied...and i have been happy.  So make sure you let them know you have sensitive skin and need them to be gentle.
Now I know the wait can be brutal at times, but it's definitely worth it.    Also, Hair Images opened up another location in Marietta, Georgia off of Johnsons Ferry....love it!  Right down the street from my house :)  I love the new location and they service is excellent!

AWFUL!    AWFUL!      AWFUL!

DON'T GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(ok, that got rid of a few people too lazy to keep reading)

I hate that so many people know about this place now.  There is always a wait, but it's worth it.  As someone mentioned before, the owner/manager is rather rude, but the girls working there are nice and fast.

Threading combines the precision of tweezing with the speed of waxing (they manage to get those fine hairs that never come out with waxing ) The end result is amazing and I always get compliments on my eyebrows.

Hair Images

One of the hottest hair removal commodities in Atlanta is Hair Images.  Centrally located off Briarcliff and N. Druid Hills, this full service salon specializes in threading, waxing, mehndi and henna tattoos.   At least once a month I spend $10 to get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded.  Pricing information and additional details can be found at http://www.hairimages.com.

Hair Images is in high demand so if you go, plan on waiting five to thirty minutes. Get there when they open to avoid the wait. Hair Images is open on Monday 10:00a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  If the start times don't suit your agenda, call (404) 248-0446 to schedule an appointment. I've actually called up to an hour before and received a slot.

Threading Crash Course
Threading is the ancient art of hair removal used in India, Pakistan and the Middle East. Hair is removed with entwined cotton thread.  Aggressively, the thread moves across the skin and plucks the hair from the root.  The effect is similar to tweezing, but better since your removing hair at a faster pace from the follicle.

Pros
*Threading is said to be more effective than depilatory creams, waxing and tweezing.

*Hair usually stays gone for at least 3 weeks, but this varies by person.

*Threading your eyebrows will result in better definition and a more natural look.

*Hair Images stylists are friendly and well trained cosmeticians.

Cons
*Like every other hair removal process, threading may cause slight redness and soreness.  Ladies don't feel intimidates, beauty knows no pain so this is worth it!

*Every time the hair is threaded from the follicle it feels like a slight pinch.  For eye brow threading, I recommend, closing the eye lids and holding them.  For your upper lip, close your mouth and follow the thread by pressing your tongue under your upper lip.

*The threading process is a few minutes longer than waxing.

I love having my eyebrows threaded.  It hurts like heck.  But I think it lasts longer than waxing and you don't risk having your skin ripped right off your face.

My suggestion is to make an appointment.  The first time I went was at 3p on a Friday.  I waited for 30 minutes and decided to leave b/c people who were walking in the door were breezing right past me b/c they had appointments.

I went this morning as soon as they opened at 10a.  I was 3rd in line.  The only problem was that there was only one person working and people were piling in by the minute.  I felt that she rushed a bit and my eyebrows weren't as neat and shaped as they should have been.

But I'm willing to give it another try.

I was considering going to have my eyebrows waxed when I came across all the reviews for threading on Yelp. Hair Images had the best reviews, so I decided to give "threading" a try & I'm so glad I did.
I don't have very full eyebrows & I have never had them waxed, I just wanted to get them shaped. I took in two pictures to show Alvira how I wanted my eyebrows arched..she took a quick peek, then started "threading". I had read in other reviews that threading is somewhat painful, but I really didn't think so & it was SO fast.  Alvira did a great job of evening out my eyebrows & arching the brow. I can't wait to go back....and it only cost $7! I had an appt so I was in & out in under 10 minutes..

My co-worker recommended this place to get my brows done so I went.  The salon itself is ok but the girl at the front desk wasn't exactly friendly.  I just waited for the first available person so I don't know who did my eyebrows.  I told her I wanted wax and she said I should try threading.  So she waxed them, pretty sloppily, then let me see them.  Then she threaded them and it was painless and they did come out nice.  So I liked that she did both so I could see the difference somewhat.  I would go back.

Hair Images is the place for threading unnecessary and unwanted hair.  I just moved to Atlanta and on my long list of priorities was to find someone to do my eyebrows.  A friend of a friend told me about the place and I was ecstatic.  I was advised to make an appointment, due to long wait times, with Minaz.  I am glad I did because there were so many people in the salon.  Even on a Thursday afternoon around 2pm, you may find yourself waiting.

Minaz at Hair Images does great work and they are reasonably priced at $7 for eyebrows.  You will be very satisfied, just don't show up there without having made an appointment.

"La, la, la, la, laaaaaa...I want to get pretty, I go to Hair Images Salon!" This place is my first stop on beautifying days...I discovered it casually at Kiehl's in Lenox Mall, where they were giving complimentary henna tattoos. I don't particularly feel the love for the mall, and was there with guests; but I adore anything henna, so I bought some herbal cucumber toner from the store to get the maroon filigree drawn on my skin. As I expected, it was exquisitely applied on my wrist, and the process was soooo relaxing and nice!  Reason enough to make me grab a business card before I left.

The next morning, I was sipping coffee with very little enthusiasm (it was a dark, stormy Monday...) and my eyes landed on the card, just to discover they offered silk threading! I was dying to try it...that powerful thing called "word-of-mouth" (little we know about it, don't we?) had me wondering how would it work on my wax-free eyes...

I have never had a better job done on my eyebrows (for just $7!!!) As I already said, I'm uber scared of the wax-eyelids combo (I have nightmares about my eyelids sagging and becoming eye tents). The salon is usually packed with pretty Atlanta's ladies, but the line goes fast: they're quick and very professional.

The only thing we the customers could use is a smile...at least a tiny, tiny smirk. They are so grim it makes you exit the place seriously depressed...and wanting to chow down the whole Indian buffet next door to get back some of the lost happiness.

When I first started going to Hair Images, I would just take first available with varying (and sometimes pretty awful) results. After a couple of times of walking out with uneven brows, I started looking at the sign-in sheet and noticed there were a lot of appointments with Minaz, so I requested her and haven't gone to anyone else since. With Minaz my brows are perfect every time. However, it does hurt like crazy, and my eyes are usually watering so bad after I can't even see if it's even, but it always is. Also, the redness usually lasts about 6-8 hours and the skin around my brows, especially the upper eye lid is usually sore to the touch for several days after, but thank goodness it lasts a good length of time so I don't have to have it done too often.

Thank you yelpers for putting me in the right direction!  Everytime I move to a new city it's awful trying to find a new place to get hair cuts and even harder for the brows.  I have weird reactions to the wax so when I lived in B'ham one of the spas used threading.  I fell in love!  I also feel like most hair salons usually want to make my brows really skinny and I look like a very surprised version of my self.
I got here right when they opened on a weekday and there were already ten people there all waiting for eyebrow shaping.  I only waited maybe ten minutes because most of them were waiting for a specific person; since I'd never been I was up for whoever.  She did a great job and I will definitely be back.  The best $7 and well worth the trip from Sandy Springs.

I was bored and wanted to treat myself to something nice so i looked up reviews of this place on YELP :D Its about 35 minutes from me so i was hoping it was worth the drive. I got there around 7 and in less than 5 minutes, i was on a chair. The lady was done in less than 5 minutes! It was painful but not unberable. I will definitely go back.

The main guy....dont know if he was the receptionist or owner was short to me both on the phone and when i got there. Either because i got lost and called 3 times to get directions or he was having a bad day. Either way, yes, it was worth the 35 minute drive!

I love this place!  It is pretty close to where I live, so it is not hard to get there, but I would suggest making an appointment.  I never ask for a particular person to thread my eyebrows.  They all do a great job.  I have tried other places, and have not liked the job they have done and have paid a ton of money.  This place charges $7....SERIOUSLY!

I would say to bring a magazine to read while you wait though.

The absolute WORST eyebrow shaping known to mankind!!  Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, Adriana Lima all have lovely, unique eyebrow shapes... the type of eyebrows I had left NYC with and when I went in and asked for a very light CLEAN UP (she criticized me "you dont have a very good shape that compliments your face ma'am" )

I LEFT with ronald mcdonald arches and lost any fullness to my brows!! honestly, these indian people dont know what they are doing, they give EVERYONE IDENTICAL generic eyebrow shape!!! I KNOW what I look like, I dont wanna hear smack about how my shape is all wrong!!!

i feel like its a factory & they speed to pump out as many finished products as possible.  anyone know a good eyebrow place??

Thank you, ladies of Hair Images, for providing an invaluable service to the people of Atlanta -- threading.  This is just another method of torture that women (and some men) endure to look hot.

Ahhh the things we do for people who don't recognize the results or care.

Make an appointment unless you want to wait a very, very long time.

I'm a guy.  When I moved back from LA, I was merely looking for a place to get a GOOD haircut at a reasonable price.  Key word: GOOD.  Sure, you can go to some cookie-cutter barber shop or FantasticCuts or whatever and come out looking like a tool.  But I wanted quality.  I turned to Yelp!, and I'm glad I did.  Now, I'm not saying there isn't a place for high-fashion salons that host mixers in their chichi art galleries, but for me...I don't need to pay half a C-note for a game of Russian roulette in the middle of all that.  I just need them to actually listen to me and give me a good cut or a trim.  Thankfully, I found Hair Images nearby.  I'm usually the only guy in there, except the owner.  And for a men's cut? $12!  Yep.  (I make the tips bigger because it's such a deal.)  Thank you, HI!  Everyone's good, but I always ask for Bansi.

Well I took the plunge today and tried the eyebrow threading.  I think I really like it.  It was not painful like I have read (which is why I have waited so long).  The lady was very skilled and it took only like 5 minutes.  My brows are clean and look nice.  I went on a weekday midday and waited about 20 minutes to get in a chair.  Next time I will get my moustache done:)LOL

From the day I arrived in Atlanta close to 3 years ago, this is the place I've been heading to. They are quick and consistent in service. They are also pretty cheap and the staff are generally courteous. Do book appointments though as they are always busy and walk-ins though welcome means it can take forever for your turn. They are good at threading and waxing as well as manicure, pedicure and facials and haircuts. They also have a little jewelry store on the side that has some rare gifts on offer sometimes.

I am a huge wussy.

Needless to say, threading scared the crap out of me, but it's not that much worse than tweezing, and then I don't have to worry about having a giant "red moustache" that I always fear of getting from waxing. Funnily enough, I went here to get my unsightly upper lip threaded (plus eyebrows and chin), but ended up wussing out and just got the latter two done. Maybe next week I'll get up the nerve to go back and get the upper lip done.

I also got my hair cut here. I think it was the cheapest place I've ever been to ($15)! It wasn't the best cut of my entire life, but it looks good, she listened to me, and was personable. I wish I could remember her name. Nonetheless, I definitely liked it enough to go back again. Others may not have as much success, but my hair, being as fine as it is, is pretty hard to screw up.

I started coming here after my threading place in midtown lost my favorite threaders (threadists?).  I love it.  Even if I don't make an appointment, the wait is not longer than 15 minutes.  Fast, clean, cheap...YES!

Okay, so back to my tales of eyebrow maintenance... When I lived in NY, I would take the train up to Queens and go to this amazing Indian salon and get threaded for $5 and my eyebrows never looked better. I've been searching from coast to coast for a place as good as the place in Queens. Well, Atlanta has come through once again. The ladies at Hair Image do fabulous work, and at $7, my eyebrows and my overworked wallet are pretty stoked.

What can I say... I gave them a second chance and they failed me again.  I went in for threading on Saturday.  I made an appointment but, apparently that doesn't matter.  They still took walk-ins before me and I ended up waiting 30 minutes for my "appointment".  I went to the famed Alvira for my threading needs.  She did shape my eyebrows nicely - no complaints there.  However, as soon as I sat down I told her I have sensitive skin that cuts easily.  She gave me this look like "yea, yea everyone says that" and proceeded.  She ended up cutting my face up all over the place.  Cheeks, upper lip, everybrows, everything is cut up.  Thankfully my plans that night were canceled for another reason.  There was no way I was going to go out looking the way she left me.  The only reason I tried this place again was because my regular lady had the weekend off.  My regular place honors appointments immediately and my regular lady shapes my eyebrows just as well and never ever cuts me.  Next time, I'll just wait.

If you have never had your eyebrows threaded...you are behind the times!  What is threading?  It is high tech tweezing that lasts longer than waxing your eyebrows.  I have been going to the same place for almost 10 years now and all the ladies have been there about that long if not longer.  They do so much more like Brazilian waxing, waxing, hair styling and ... but threading is their specialty.  It takes less than 5 minutes to get done but the precision is amazing!  You have to check out to believe the wonder of thread!

All I can say is...I saw them first! The first time I discovered this place, they only charged $3 to get your eyebrows done!!! They charge a little more these days, but they do an incredible job. Wish they hadn't been discovered by all of Atlanta! They were my secret weapon for great brows for years. They are still great now though....just take a magazine, the wait is significantly longer now.

I went to Hair Images based on the recommendations here on Yelp. It had been ages since my eyebrows had been done, and it seemed like there was no one in the Clairmont Road area who offered this service. Based on the comments here, I called and made an appointment ahead of time. True to everyone's word, there was definitely a wait, although not a long one. The guy at the front desk was definitely charm-challenged, but not rude. I was seated quickly, and the lady got to work, but not before she abruptly informed me that I had thin eyebrows. Well duh, am I supposed to walk around with unshaped eyebrows just because they aren't as thick as everyone else's? Sorry, maybe I'm a wimp, but it HURT. It literally made my eyes water. The process was over almost as quickly as it began and my eyebrow area was actually red(check my profile picture and you'll see that I'm pretty dark skinned). Overall I was definitely satisfied, it was the best job anyone had ever done on my brows, and it was very natural looking. I guess everyone can't be sunshine all the time.

Threading is way better.  Have been going here forever.  Wait during the weekends is sort of long but during the weekdays, you can get in and out in a jiffy.  Hurts the first few times you do it but you'll never have burn marks and threading is more precise - better shaping, arching.  Alvira is great!
