I live within walking distance of Hacienda, and over the past 3 years, I've become friends with the owners (Scott and Marianne). Hacienda is truly one of my favorite places on earth for breakfast. The coffee is good, the service is superb, and the food is great.

As for food: Try the Spicy Homemade Chorizo Hash. Its Mexican-style Chorizo with a bit of a kick ( I add more hot sauce)

As others have said, Hacienda is hidden in the corner of the Aubuchon shopping center. There's plenty of parking in the lot.

    LUNCH REVIEW

Let's start with the atmosphere. If you are calling this hole-in-the-wall, you are being overly generous: it's a shithole. The walls are painted lime green and the countertops boast a faux maple veneer that makes you feel like you're in a mobile home. I went around lunch time and all the curtains were closed so the room was basked in dim, artificial light. If you could care less about the atmosphere, add another star. For me, if I am going to spend money going out I want to at least feel comfortable in my surroundings.

After I came to terms with where I would be eating, obviously I was hoping the food would be dynamite and prove the rest moot. Unfortunately this was not the case. I ordered the smothered burrito, which was supposedly the house favorite. The rice was dry and the sauce bland. It also didn't sit well with my digestive system a few hours later. I'm from Colorado and I would have taken any of the chain Mexican restaurants out there over this. It's just not the same as being in the SW, but I was hoping.

I prominently marked this as a lunch review, because others seemed to think highly of it for breakfast, which may well be true. I won't be going back to find out.

The only reason I didn't give it a 1 was because the waitstaff (1) was helpful and good-mannered.

This was just my experience and maybe there breakfast is to die for. At the very least, I'd stay away from the Mexican.

Lemme sum up:  Great value, very good food, great service
If you don't know where this place is, it's because it's hidden.  Go to the Aubachon plaza and look in the corner...there she is!
Hands down, the best staff and service for a local breakfast/lunch joint on the Cape.  You will be served promptly and with a smile or five.  I have NEVER had an unpleasant experience there after years of breakfasts and lunches.
I've also never had a bad dish there.  The house special always pleases (burrito).  I like mine as chicken with the homemade salsa verde.  For breakfast, the huevos rancheros has a nice bite of spice.  They just started serving a hot roast beef sandwich with horseradish on an onion bulky that I couldn't get enough of!  Next time I'm back, it's that and a guava Jarrito.  If you're not that hungry, they have an all you can eat soup bar with two or three selections.  Homemade chili could use some kick, but I suppose it's safer to keep it medium and let folks add their own Cholula.  *shrugs*
Be warned:  If you're looking for lunch before noon on a Sunday, it ain't happenin' here.  But the breakfast choices are brunchy enough to satisfy.

Small place. Lunch items are average at most. Breakfast is more of a reason to go here. Staff is friendly and warm.

If you don't look hard enough, you might miss this gem! Hacienda was quietly opened up by a husband a wife team last year and has been steadily building a following. They are located in a shopping plaza with Aubuchon Hardware and Golden Place Chinese off the McArthur Cswy. and Barlows Landing Rd. Almost EVERYTHING is homemade in the kitchen by Scott the cook and Marianne his wife runs the restaurant with a smile every day (but Tuesday when they are closed). For breakfast you can get the awesome Mexican fare from Huevos Rancheros to Breakfast quesadillas (I get mine with egg whites, spinach, mushrooms, onions, and cheese) and you will get to sample the FRESH homemade Picadillo (Salsa). It is delicious. If you prefer traditional breakfast, my boyfriend gets what is called "The Scotty" - 2 eggs, sausage, choice of toast, small stack of pancakes, and biscuits with homemade sausage gravy!  Oh and for the Cape Cod enthusiasts, they make awesome Cranberry pancakes - again, fresh and homemade. All of the breads and muffins are baked fresh and at the restaurant - including my personal favorite pumpernickle - absolutely delish!
I have already ranted enough so I will just briefly mention that they have fantastic and traditional mexian fare for lunch too - Chimichangas, burritos, tacos, again all served with the homemade Picadillo ummm. This place isn't a big fancy restaurant - its exactly what it should be - a small, clean and cozy, mom and pop joint, serving awesome quality food.

We found this place based on a recommendation from someone at a coffee place and were pleasantly surprised (it doesn't look like much from the outside but once you step inside, you forget about that). Everything here is homemade and the staff who work there are phenomenal. Everyone had big smiles and treated you like family. We ended up going there every day while we were on the Cape and I can't wait to go back next time. I loved the breakfast veggie burrito as well as the special cranberry pancakes. The bread is baked fresh (do yourself a favor and order a few sides of toast... it goes down easy!) and everything is as fresh as can be. Scott and Marianne are a delight. I hope they continue to do well. Can't wait to go back!

    I'll start with the positives.

The service is absolutely amazing.  I think it was the wive's owner that served us, and she was quite friendly and willing to please.  Service was a bit slow, but one waitress can only do so much!

    For the negatives,

If you have had Mexican food other than taco bell, you aren't going to be too impressed with the offerings...I wish I could say more, but it seems like the salsa was jarred old el paso, and the beans were the taco bell kind you can find in a can.  Really nothing much to say about the mexican food.  I'm sure the burgers and American fare were decent.

Service is great and breakfast is good.

They do not use any cheddar cheese here, i asked because the mexican was no good.  The salsa is seriously not even close to medium never mind hot, barely taste the cilantro and chili.  i would not count on this place for mexican at all.
