Great location and super convenient to not only LAX, but the socal beach areas I like to frequent. It's clean, the staff is cool and it's surrounded by places to eat, banks and other stuff you may need while on vacation.
Uber slow check in process and everytime I have been here there just seems to be a back log of families who do not know how to juggle kids, bags and stress. There is actually a cocktail waitress in the lobby during the check in process. I'm still not sure if this is genious or ridiculous.
There is a great little courtyard out front which is awesome for social meetings if you are travelling with a decent sized group. Overall, it's aiiight.

The only thing going for this place is that it's the cheapest hotel I could find in the LAX area that's not in a shady neighborhood.

The rooms have undergone a renovation and furnishings have been upgraded, along with a price increase.  Not the most comfortable beds, but if it's someplace to get a little shuteye before your flight, this place does the job.

However, what little sleep you might want to get is cut short by the long wait to check-in.  Go in about 10pm on a busy night and you'll be waiting about 45 minutes.  The most I've seen is 2 people working the front desk.

Van transportation is regular and reliable, but has a tendency to get crowded.  When being picked up at the airport at Terminals 5,6 and 7, you may be out of room.

Strip mall conveniently located across the street with some places to eat, a Starbucks, Roebecks Juice and a Ralph's supermarket.

This place is digusting.  The first room I got smelled and was dirty.  In fact there were toe nail clippings in the corner (like 30 of them).  I promptly asked to switch rooms.

the new room was not as smelly and was definitely cleaner.  Problem is, the hotel only has "general" heat or ac, meaning if u turn on the fan, u get hot or cold air depending on what they choose for the day.  The day i got there, they were on general hot with my room already at like 80 degrees.

the towels were unusually small as well and the bed was not comfortable.

the only plus was that the shower head actually had a good flow of water.  parking is also only $5 for overnight compared to most places with are more than double in that area.

**Salsa Dancing - This is strictly a review of the hotel's salsa dancing scene on Sunday nights.

I was invited to join friends for an evening of dancing last Sunday over the Dr. King holiday weekend. I'm a pretty serious dancer, so I can be quite critical about venues to dance.  But, I'm happy to say that I'm so glad I went because I really had a blast.  The space is pretty large with three separate floored areas to dance and the music (DJ Dario, I believe) was fantastic. I spent most of my time on the floor furthest from the entrance where the On2 dancers seemed to congregate. But, I made my way to all three dancing areas and in each, I was met with a lot of smiling faces and danced with great dancers. It didn't have that yucky feel that clubs can have. Rather, this seemed to be a place where true dance enthusiasts of various backgrounds and skill level just come out to have fun.  I returned again this past Sunday and had the same experience.

So here's my breakdown...

Pros: FREE, fun, friendly atmosphere, good dancers, majority On1 but
strong On2 presence, good music, ample seating to rest your feet,
and free parking in Ralph's parking lot (across the street)

Cons:  Held on Sunday nights so getting up for work on Monday is killer.

To start, this hotel is very very photogenic.

I got the hotel for a great price - at $59 a night on Hotwire. I was psyched when I saw the website.

In reality, the Hacienda is a cross between a dorm room and a refurbished, Mexico-themed Disney resort from the early 80's.

The Internet was slow/sucked. The bed was uncomfy. There was no a/c or heat. The bathtub was sort of dirty. The hallways/windows were ugly.

The people who stay here include flight staff, older folks with a lot of faux jewelry and big hair, and general rif raff.

The parking is a little sketchy and a block away.

The weird best part was the restaurant: Mariposas. It was a surprisingly legit diner (reminded me of the diner on

Some friends of mine stopped through LA and stayed at this hotel because of its proximity to LAX. Boy did they make a mistake. From the outside it looks okay with a Spanish theme courtyard and the 'hacienda' style look hence the name. However, the inside is another story. The room was old, the air conditioning rickety, the bathrooms -- don't wanna go there.

I felt bad for my friends. They had no idea when they booked and it wasn't that much cheaper than the other hotels off Century Blvd which are so much nicer. For another $15-$20 extra they could've stayed at the Marriott or the Sheraton. YIKES!! Don't think they will do it again.

Stayed here for a hustle dance convention, Hooray for Hollywood.  http://hoorayforhollyw...  Convention rate was $119,  high for the conditions of the sleeping rooms.  I was in the main/orginal building, 4th floor, the rooms were small, no AC just had to open the windows, the mattresses were old, you could feel the springs, the front door was peeling wood and paint, the bathroom ceiling had an opening, looked like a trap door over the bathtub.  The hallway outside of the room had buckets and plastic on the carpet to catch the rain coming through the ceiling.  I used elevators, nearest the lobby, when you exit on your floor, there are 3 steps you have to take your luggage down, heard the elevator further down the hall had no steps.  The reception staff was friendly.  I did get to see a suite in the new builiding, very modern and new but a walk outside under a covered walkway.  Parking lots are odd, not close to the hotel and so secluded, I didn't feel safe walking out there especially with signs posted that the hotel is not responsible for stolen items from cars. Have to use your room key to get into the gated outdoor parking lot and heard the parking attendents were not helpful when your room key didn't work in the gate.  Parking $5 a day.  Free shuttle to airport, only a couple of miles away and free internet in rooms.

The main ballroom was odd, getting to it, you had to cross an outside courtyard and use the elevator to the 2nd floor.  Not fun when it is raining and you are wearing sueded dance shoes.    Dance floor was just waxed, so too slick for dancing and took the hotel a couple of days to fix the problem thus dancers were dancing bare foot or on the carpet.  Very bad thing when it comes to a dance convention.

Did like the Mariposa cafe, open 24 hours.  The staff was friendly at all hours and the food was good.  There are plenty of eating places nearby the hotel but liked it here.  Had a great club sandwich that I subbed yams instead of fries.  My friends are picky eaters and the waiters took their orders instride.

The Double H Dance Club/Lounge, on the first floor is hopping on the weekends.  They have West Coast Swing dancing on Saturday nights and Salsa on Sunday nights and the place is packed with good, even advanced level dancers.  Three dance floors seperated by wrought iron fence.  Schedule under dancing  http://www.haciendahot...

I wound up checking in here around 2am after the Embassy Suites screwed me over. ( See the story here: http://www.yelp.com/bi... )

I was grateful to have a roof over my head, and I was grateful that the Hacienda Hotel accepted the airline voucher that was made out to the Embassy Suites. So you can imagine how horrible the Hacienda Hotel would have to be, to wear away all that gratitude and get a 1 star review.

...What a vast, wretched, forgotten junkyard of a hotel. Strange and sprawling, the hotel was obviously a conference center in the 1950s and only the lobby has been renovated since. Our room was small, dank, depressing. The windows were dirty, the bathroom was dirtier, and the sheets felt damp. I'd like to congratualte the hotel, really, on managing to grow mildew in southern California -- the walls of the room were covered in it.

Anyone who's read my reviews knows I'm quite the fan of rennovation and refurbishing; I generally think any building can be modernized and made fabulous. This hotel was so awful, I'd feel sorry for the wrecking balls that would have to touch it to tear it down.

This place is disgusting. Do not be fooled by the pictures they display on their website. The paint is peeling, the tint on the wondows is bubbly, the room was only slightly clean, and there was a RUSTY fridge in the bathroom. The bed was uncomfortable, and left me feeling stiff and sore the next day. When I hopped in to the shower where I was greeted by a dirty shower curtain, the water was the perfect temp untill someone else turned the shower on. I was then flooded with either freezing or boiling water! Nightmare! I can't believe this place was so packed... head to the TravelLodge down the road.

My husband and I needed a place to stay for a night as we flew into LAX at 11:30pm. We planned to tour LA and surrounding beach areas for a few days and wanted an inexpensive stay for our first night there. We chose Hacienda Hotel for the price, location and free 24 hour shuttle service. We knew we were getting a quick, cheap place to stay for a reasonable price. We were able to get a shuttle within 15 min of getting our luggage, just outside the terminal (posted hotel shuttles). The shuttle was about full at that time (mostly pilots and flight attendants). Within 10 minutes we arrived at our hotel and were checked in. The hotel is old and spread out, kinda creepy looking hallways in some areas, but harmless. There were security walking around for safety and the bar, restaurants, sitting areas were quite nice! We expected a dump, but were pleasantly surprised in our stay and would recommend this hotel to those needing a place to lay your head for cheap near LAX. It wasn't that bad...2.5 stars if you ask us!

My first night in the US of grand ole' A was spent here.
I was so excited to be embarking on a coast to coast trip of a lifetime I hardly noticed none of the reservation staff spoke english, that the tiles in the bathroom were cracked, that the bedroom was dirty and that it was a 2 train, 1 hour ride to Hollywood.
Nope, hardly noticed at all.

I don't care how close it is to the airport, DO NOT STAY HERE.
I'm writing this review late (I'm new to Yelp) but I HAVE to share.

Not only do I echo everything already written about the rude staff, the dirtiness, the loudness, but I suspect this hotel might have some sort of connection to a drug ring.

We stayed there for a wedding. Everyone attending the wedding did (the wedding SUCKED by the way, never go to a wedding on a boat, especially when at 28 you're the youngest person there and your date is wearing a ridiculous T.D. Jakes inspired suit). We were tricked into it. The groom called himself a professional meeting planner and the bride was from the LA area so we figured they were giving us a good recommendation for a hotel. SO WRONG.

The first day, we go out for a bit, come back and the door that led outside is slightly open. Hmmmm. Nothing stolen but neither of us opened it . . . we reported it though anyways to the front desk who said they'd send security down. Security never comes.

The next night, someone tries to break in the same door into our room. Luckily I was with my ex who is a big mean guy, so he scared the dude away but it was SCARY. I was sleeping soundly and thought I was dreaming the whole thing. My ex tells me about it when I wake up a few hours later. I of course want to report it right away and as I'm leaving for my flight, I go to the front desk to complain about what happened. They say, "Oh, yeah, that's too bad." I ask to speak to the manager. He of course is nowhere to be found. About an hour later, as I'm waiting in the longest line EVER at LAX, I call the hotel to speak to the manager. I tell him what happened. He says, "Well, did you report it to security?" I'm like, "Um, what security? They didn't come after the first incident!" To make a long story short, we got into a shouting match and he finally agreed to refund one night. Shoot, they should have paid ME to even stay there.

Anyways, whatever you do, whatever your budget, please do not stay here. And if you're ever invited to a wedding and the couple recommends this hotel, question if you really want to have this couple in your life . . .

We decided to stay here my birthday weekend since we would be partying it up hard in good ole El segundo and we didn't want to risk  drinking and driving. From the pictures online, we thought it would be like a mini vacation type stay. The price sounded just right and it was really close to where we would be at.
Oh how I wish I would have yelped first....
First off, I have NEVER stayed at a hotel where you need to pay a fee to use thier parking lot.
The parking lot is behind the hotel and it's quite a walk when your carrying all stuff or when your a little tipsy.
We also paid a fee to have some utencils brought to our room.
My card was charged 50 dollars and put on hold until they were able to completely check us out.
The window didn't close right and so we heard the howling wind all night
The shower drain did not work well so the water stood.
The cable SUCKED! I think there was a total of 10 channels.
The bed was hard.
The elevator was really creepy.
It just looks and feels like an old hotel!
I just would never recommend this hotel!

Many flight crews stay here.
It's close and convenient to LAX.
Shuttle service to airport.
This friendly hotel is very large with lots of little nooks and crannies. The small coffee shop stays open pretty late and we enjoyed our breakfast.
The room we had was unusually loud due to laundry personnel in the very early a.m. making huge amounts of noise with trucks and large rolling laundry bins outside our window.  Next time I will ask for a completely different location.
Try not to stay in any lower sections with windows that resemble a cruise ship and its cabins.
The requested E-mail replies were friendly, quick and
professional.

So, I stayed here for two nights in order to attend a business training at my company's office at the Pacific Towers down the street.  Knowing nothing about LA, I picked this place because it was walking distance from the office, but I'd sooner rent a car and stay on the other side of town the next time I come in for business!
When I arrived, I was assigned to a room that already had people in it (quite a surprise for them and for me when I opened the door)!  Though I'd requested a non-smoking room, the only room they had left was a smelly, smelly smoking room.  Bummer.
I agree with Patrick that the front desk staff was about the rudest I'd ever encountered.  Also, the line to check in was always out the door, which I've never seen at any hotel before.  The front dest staff person who "helped" me answered the phone twice and walked away for 5 minutes while I was trying to get checked in, and really looked like he'd rather be anywhere else than helping me.  The concierges were more friendly, though it took them over an hour to find a bag that I checked with them the day I was due to leave.
That said, this would be an OK place to stay if you're on vacation and need to be convenient to the airport, because it's fairly cheap.  Don't stay here if you need to be clean, relaxed and well rested for a business meeting the next day.

if you're just using this place as a spot to sleep, then sure, come on in!  and that's all i did at this hotel when i was down in LA this weekend, so i can't really comment on anything else.  it's clean, it's comfy, it's close to LAX.

one star for the girl at the front desk who gave us horrible directions and led us 30 minutes out of our way and made us late to a wedding!

I had my worst experience ever today with their shuttle bus to the airport. Not the fact that they were lazy and we waited for half an hour, but the young guy at the door was very, very impolite. He was very, very rude. I asked first how often is their shuttle and he said 20 min max. We waited 30 min and then asked him again. He said that is our business if we want to wait, that we should get a taxi if we want :-o I couldn't believe my ears. After waiting like stupids there for 30 min, the drivers were completely ignoring us and this young bald Mexican was very, very impolite. I told him I will leave a review online about this and he said that he didn't care. How are these people trained? I will never stay at Hacienda Hotel again or rent a car from Discovery Car rental in Los Angeles. At arrival we also waited for an hour in the airport for their shuttle. I'm just leaving this message here, so you know what you get into if you are using their "services" (impolite and rude people).

So-so hotel reeeeeally close to the airport in a clean, seemingly safe area with lots of stores and places to eat nearby.
This place had a great rate when I needed to come to the area on business. The airport shuttle didn't take too long to arrive and the driver was friendly and helpful. The front desk staff sucked; the guy was rude and just generally pissy. Mr. Wiseguy put me in a room that was already occupied (fortunately, they weren't there when I went in). When I went back, I had a different clerk, who put me in the room right next door. The room was ok, it could have used some updating, but overall I was comfortable, it was clean, and had a balcony which was nice. I'm not sure what you have to do to get one of the rooms that have been renovated and are pictured on their website.
I would have given the place four stars for having good rates and a good location, but that desk clerk really pissed me off.
