2 reviews for Hacienda Hot Springs Inn & Spa
A desert oasis indeed! This gem sits in between Palm Springs and Joshua Tree Park, with views of majestic mountains that can't be beat. Desert Hot Springs is kind of an odd town, but once you enter the hacienda you find yourself in an enchanted private world. The grounds are lovely, well-maintained and dotted with local flora and cacti. There are lounge chairs scattered around for relaxing, but even better are the sauna, pool and jacuzzi.
It also has an indoor lounge and outdoor kitchen, as well as a large communal table, which would be perfect to cook dinner with a group. The rooms themselves are incredibly comfortable - wonderful mattresses, warm bedding and decor, lovely mineral water for bathing, a CD/radio and TV/DVD. While all have coffee, tea and refrigerators, some also have kitchenettes for preparing meals, a luxury that adds to the calm, protected feeling you get while staying there. The rooms also have private patios.
To add to what's already a beautiful inn, you are treated to freshly made granola in the morning (with your choice of regular, soy or rice milk). It's also dog-friendly, and Sita, the manager, is nothing less than a sweetheart. With only seven rooms, you'll find yourself with plenty of privacy and tranquility, and the rates are affordable for the quality. Also, they have a full set of spa services...so once you pick up your groceries, you may never have to leave these grounds!
This is the worst stay of my life.
1) I arrived at 6pm on a Friday night only to stand outside for 15 mintues till the front desk answered the phone to buzz me in.
2) I found a pubic hair in my bed. When I buzzed the front desk no answer. Then I walked over and knocked on the closed and locked door only to find nobody was around. We had to lay towels down on the bed.
3) Our T.v. was 12 inches and in our closet. We had to open the closet door when we wanted to watch t.v. We ended up watching a movie off my laptop.
4) They are not dog friendly. I brought my dog with me. Upon checking in I was not giving any list of instructions or rules for my dog. On Saturday morning I sat by the pool with my quiet well-mannered pet reading a book. To be disrupted and shocked at Laine yelling at me that my dog had to be on a leash. I jumped up quickly heading to my room in order to obtain my pets leash to be respectful of the rules. As, I continued my walk to the pool Laine continued to yell at me until I got to my room and shut myself in.
5) I decided to try and relax after the intense, stressful and inappropriate encounter with Laine. I left my dog in my room to avoid anymore confrontations with her. I was sitting in the hot spring for only about 2 minutes when Laine felt the need to attack me again and started explaining the rules regarding pets. I told her I understood hoping she would disappear, but she continued attacking me for another 3 minutes explaining to me the rules of having a pet there.
6) She was rude to my girlfriend when she called to ask her a question regarding massages which discouraged us from getting a massage.
7) We decided to check out. When I walk into the office, again Laine was no where to be found. We ended up having to call Bill(the owner's) cell phone to explain what happened and we wanted a refund for Saturday night.
8) I went into the office to leave my room key on the counter. Laine appears out of no where and I told her I was checking out. I'm disabled and she began attacking me telling me I don't look disabled and questing my disability. I told her she was inappropriate and it was illegal to disrminate against disabled people and ask these questions. She then continued and told me "I'm sure you are not coming back, and we don't want you back!" I told her she was awful, unprofessional and inappropriate. She then said " You are a very disturbed little person" I just wanted to get away from her negative energy so I asked her to refund my credit card and I stood outside the office to avoid anymore painful remarks from her. After standing outside for 10 minutes she finally handed me my refund receipt.
9) The pool was dirty and Laine kept walking around and disturbing all the other visitors and talking to them while they were trying to sunbath, read a book or eat a romantic breakfast together.
In conclusion, Bill is nice but absent and he was well aware of what occurred and never rectified the issue. I strongly advise you not to support any company that 1)that allows their employee to treat their paying customers like this 2) Is so dirty. I went there to relax and get away from stress only to become more stressed out then I've ever been and treated poorly more then I've ever been treated. Don't stay here!
