6 reviews for Hacienda Colorado
The food is really weak here. This is gringo-mex if I have ever had it.
Their spiciest sauce is a serrano chili blend, but even it was fairly tame.
Interestingly, you cannot order a side of fried serranos, only fried
jalapenos, which seems to imply that their precious sauce is pre-fab.
You can get a tastier barbacoa burrito at Chipotle.
Another annoyance is the waiters wearing earpieces that they often
have to remove to pay attention to what you're saying.
Margaritas are good, but fairly expensive.
Don't waste your time going if you're looking for *good* mexican food.
Been coming here for years. Always have family celebrations here. Food has been consistent. Staff turn over seems to be a real problem so the service over the years has been lack-luster. Over the years have tried pretty much everything on the menu. Our favorites are the bacon wrapped shrimp the fish/shrimp tacos, any burrito . Restaurant definitely has it's own flavor, meaning no place tastes quite like it.
They call their style of Mexican "Mountain Mex" I call it bland garbage.
We are lucky in Denver to live in a city with some of the best Mexican in the country. Frankly there are really only 5-6 states that could claim that status anyway, but STILL - Colorado is up there.
That being said, why would you come here unless you had an aversion to any sort of authenticity in your mexican food?
The ONLY bonus is that their tortillas are fresh and made in house. The sauces are bland, and it's not possible to order your food hot - WHAT? It's MEXICAN food. They said that most of their customers don't like their food spicy though. They told me that they could bring me a side of jalapenos if I liked. Uh, no thanks. I'll take my check.
It's better than Casa Bonita. If you want good Mexican, head to Tacos Patzcauros. PLEASE.
Yawn. If nothing else is availble I'll go here. Its tasty but is such a "canned" experience. The food is good but too predictable. This place is like a chain in all the bad ways. All of them look the same, the food is the same, there is no adventure. Go here if you must but there are better places.
Delicious! I usually go here with the ladies from my work and it's very consistent. Wonderful chips and salsa, chimichongas, and their "swirl" margaritas. Service has always been great as well, even when we have very large groups.
Their food isn't too bad. Its a little pricey but I go there from time to time. However their commercials make me vomit as soon as they start singing. Their commercials are enough to make me keep on driving to some place else just because of the bad memories.
